How do I create those mini multiple columns within the main attendance column so that I can add the checkboxes. I can’t figure out how to do that in Google sheets…. I have such tons and tons of videos and there’s nothing
At my old job I had to take attendance/minutes especially during Covid all of our meetings were virtual since we were at home. I would have loved knowing this back then 😂
At first there might be no difference except for it looking better but the storage of the boolean values can help if there are bigger collums of check boxes

you can use countif with "x"s too though. the real value of checkboxes is if you're sharing the sheet with other people to use so it's user friendly
The ONLY thing that matters is if other people can understand your work. Otherwise, your aren't doing anything important with the program....

COUNTIF([range], "=X") does exactly the same thing, no booleans required
True, but requires everyone using the sheet to know that they should enter exactly what the formula expects

Cool trick. I normally just use countif "x" to do the same thing, but this looks nicer and less typing.
You can also replace the integer number of boxes with the function to count the amount of boxes in one row. It's more universal that way

You can countif(range,"X") which is less typing than true and you dont have to do special formatting. Or counta(range) to get any that aren't blank

That answer doesn't even use the boolean as a boolean. It's cleaner UI but Y/N would be practically the same formula
