Jocelyn C. I work with children every day. They climb on me and i am touched for hours. When i get home i just want an hour to shower, calm down and just be me, alone, i can not because i have kids too. My husband knows this so he comes home, takes care of the food and kids, gives me time to wind down and shower, collect myself etc. After that he can touch me all he wants. Personal time cultivates relationships. Being touched all the time can be irritating, especially when one is tired...

Wow. Coming from a home where my parents acted more like they resented each other than loved each other (and particularly my dad never treating my mom like he cared about her), this woman is mildly sickening to me.
I feel you! Lost my mom at 14 she was 39 to domestic violence and my father still alive but treated her horrible no love or affection, just verbally emotional physical abuse all day everyday. That’s all me and my siblings saw. He was mean to all of us.

when a man is overly affectionate it's a problem, when he doesn't show enough affection, it's a problem. Be glad that he's the way he is because once you start pushing him away then it becomes a serious problem!!! Be careful what you ask for.

I totally agree, everybody is DIFFERENT there are people who would be fine, with that kind of affection as soon as they walk in the door (like myself) then, , there are others (like this woman) who need a few minutes to themselves. I think she should sneak in the house if possible, or, like somebody else said, give him something to do right before she gets home , so she can have a few minutes to herself.

I understand her alot. I have a very affectionate fiance. If I asked him for some space and alone time he did. He was very respectful and understanding about it. I had to help him understand on my side though and it took some talking. Communicating with your partner does wonders. Just do it in a loving way.

She doesn't want her husband to stop loving on her, she just wants a little space sometimes and there's nothing wrong with that. She's an individual-as we all are and I'm sure we all like our own space at time. Anything done in excess can become annoying, there needs to be an even balance to everything in life. He needs to give her a little space sometimes so she can actually miss him and appreciate it more when he is all over her. Asking for 30 minutes is not unreasonable.
But after 20 years NOW she says something? And has to go on a talk show to basically publicly humiliate him saying “I don’t know what his problem is” and laugh in his face.. at this point if she wants him to stop, just divorce him as Steve said “ he didn’t just start, that’s how he got you”

I’m with her. There must be a balance. No one wants to feel suffocated. If I placed a whole sheet of birthday cake in front of you and told you to eat it all now you’ll get sick of it really quick. Same thing in relationships. We love the cake, just not all at once.

She said "every time I come home from work" he starts being affectionate. Then she said she doesn't want him to stop, she just wants "30 minutes" to herself as soon as she gets home from work. That's not being unreasonable. She just wants a few minutes to herself to wind down then spend time with him (instead of her pouncing on her as soon as she walks in the door). Steve is trying to make it seem like very she doesn't want her husband touching her at all.
There was a similar case on divorce court except it was the husband who said he just wanted 20 minutes to himself when he gets home before his wife jumps him.
In both cases, one spouse was expected to perform as soon as they walked I think door; whereas the other spouse that's already home has had a chance to separate the workday from home life, had a minute to themselves, gotten to relax, gotten in the mood, etc. If they gave the spouse that's just getting home 20-30 minutes to themselves to do the same, they could both enjoy the rest of the evening better!
Exactly. Sometimes people need that breathing space to wind down from the hectic long day. Nothin wrong with that. She didn't say she didn't like his affectiont, she just asked for 30 minutes of her own time when she comes home from work. What she may want to do is go somewhere for that time like a library, coffee shop, somewhere she can unwind and be to herself.
Yeh, my girlfriend, now my fiancé told me before that she needed that winding down time after an intense day at work and need that 15-30mins before she gives all that attention back to me. it works and it makes her a better person sharing that with me.

I think it is because some man tend to look at attractive woman based on their looks and they tend to play with them. They are attracted to pretty woman based on lust and play with them just to have sex. At the other hand, average woman tend to attract other type of man because most of the time man don’t chase them for their looks so when someone loves them is for their personality. Sometimes that can be hard with an attractive woman since man can focus on them based on their beauty.

Tbh I know how she feels lol. The affection is great, but some of us do need more space than others - especially some of us introverts. Clinginess is exhausting because that person ends up taking up our mental/emotional energy. I think they just need to talk about it and she needs to make a time for him where he can also get his physical needs met since it seems to be his love language. She gets a time where she’s left alone, and then he gets a time when he can unleash all that affection he’s been holding in 😂 and then everything else is what feels natural. Simple. Just gotta have respect for each other.
