Though Billy Fury is now performing with Elvis and John Lennon if every Billy Fury fan in this country downloaded one of his tracks off the internet. We would get Billy's family his number 1. Come On Billy Fury fans lets do it for Billy.
absolute perfection ! 2 minutes and 20 seconds of pure sixties pop/ rock n roll . heaven .the guitar playing is awsome , anybody know who is playing ? what years this ? 1963/64? to get a sound like that before even the kinks is an achievement indeed
@spacepatrolman Hi, Billy had just two singles released in the U.S. "I Will" in 1964 on the London Label and in 1968 "Silly Boy Blue" on the Mala Label. Both failed to chart. Fury visited the USA in 1962 when he presented Elvis with a Gold Disc for UK sales of "It`s Now Or Never" He is much missed.
Interesting to see Billy as an unreconstructed rocker in 64, performing a 'B' side (to the 'I will' 45). He's wearing a different suit to the 'I Will' clip, presumably a different performance date. The mod-style audience seem to get into this Eddie Fontaine rocker from the fifties!
The correct title is "Nothing Shakin' (But The Leaves On The Tree). The Lead Guitarist/Soloist is Big Jim Sullivan, The Bass is John Paul Jones, Rhythm Guitar is (Little Jim as he was called session men circles a.k.a.) Jimmy Page, Organ was Reg Guest & Drums were Bobby Graham.
This reply is very much out of date, but anyone who reads this, the backing is from The Gamblers, lead guitar is Jimmy Crawford(Not Big Jim Sullivan) how do I know? because I am the keyboard player and this is from the EP Billy Fury & The Gamblers.Thank You
hey, thechewydude i guess the lol is on us! i checked eddie fontaine's original and it's hopelessly square but you did have us going for a minute there!
More of a super group than session men. Billy sounds a lot like Freddie Cannon here. His voice is best suited to slower melodic ballads like the beautiful 'Wondrous Place'.
Eddie Fontaine did a great version of this song, but Billy did this even better interpretation. He was a great R&R singer, but Larry Parnes kept him to mostly love ballads on his single records.
Never heard this before. If you like this you don't like rock'n'roll. I'm English and collect r'n'r and am so glad I was not alive in the 50's in this country listening to this watered down commercial cack. Steele. cliff. fury. This version almost has a merseybeat sound. Adam Faith? God help us. America had a thousand doowop groups alone who were better than our crap. Johnny Carroll or Jim Dale? Don't get me wrong, I would much rather be English than American. We,re just rubbish at r'n'r.

Awesome,I don't care much for the original, nothing beats this,Billy is the man.
My favorite of Billy Fury
This is British Rock'n'Roll perfection!
Yes Bill, Yes you are another Great Star ⭐of Rock'n'roll ❤
Billy Fury, though sadly long departed,he remains Britains best rock/pop performer EVER. Never had a UK number One hit!
thanks for this great post - BILLY FOR EVER!
Great Billy you're lovely!
Top singer 😎
billy fury was one of the best singers to ever be around its so sad that he passed away to soon :
Great version by one of my all time favourite British artists. Great voice
This is sensational
GREAT,one of my favs!
Shift dresses abound on that dance floor. Go, Billy. The essence of the era; this video.
Fantastic Guitar Break by Big Jim Sullivan !
Ready steady go !
William Badrock exactly was ready steady go when I first saw it think it was about 83 loved it ever since...

Love the Billy Fury recording. The Beatles used to play this in the clubs during their pre-fame days.

I always considered this the best version of this song. Better than The Beatles live version.
This tune appears on the CD Jimmy Page Session Man Volume 2 !!!
@robeekay
Yes,a real gut less pathetic version it was too,one for the rubbish bin, this version from Billy was full of energy,THE BEST.
Brilliantly recording by an outstanding artist. Was it the B side to " I will "
It was the "B" side but,in my view should have been the "A" side,a real rocker
Proud to say he was a good rockin scouser !
Did you have the honour of seeing him perform at all ?

Pity it's out of synch 'cos it's one of his best. Wish he'd always rocked out more! His voice was really suited to it. Love the guitar solo.

Some of the lads in naff sunglasses - it's easy to see where Oasis got their fashion sense from!
