1987 NHRA Winston ALLSTARS

The inaugural running of the 1987 NHRA Winston ALLSTARS at the Texas Motorplex matches the ten best drivers (based on their point standings in 1986) in each of the three professional categories. I've added the T/F final, which was originally rained out and ran at a later date and location, to the very end of this video.

Thanks for posting this one brother this was the only NHRA drag race I ever went to I was 6 years old and to this day I still remember it like it was yesterday....my favorite memory from this race was the fact tha the it was cold and windy the concession stands ran out of hot chocolate so I got to drink coffee for the first time and met Glidden and Bernstein

yeah it looked like things were really cooling off messing with the mixtures. That was cool you met those guys. Probably couldnt have met nicer drivers.

I still have pictures from that day as well unfortunately I don't have the ball cap that they were handling out as you came in there were 3 different hats a red , white or blue with logos.....great thing is I plan to go back to Ennis and finally go to my 2nd NHRA event the one person I'll be looking for is John Force I met him as well and he won his first national event at Montreal

Sure he probably won't remember me and that's ok but I just want to let him know how much I appreciate him for still going strong because he is the last of the good ones from my era

@@jeffbrown1611 he's definitely a good inspiration for those who have ever thought of giving up. He didn't win his first national event for years but he didn't quit. Now he's the man with the most wins. I think John deserves your tribute.👍
