6:20 The left one (TI84) is correct, in PEMDAS multiplication and division (as well as addition and subtraction) should be completed left to right. For example: (1/2 ) * 2 / 3 = 1/3 or 4 + 5 - 6 = 3 The reason that the two answers in the photo do not match is because the calculator on the right is significantly older than the TI84, which has only recently been succeeded by the TI89 (would highly recommend TI89 for anyone starting calculus, friggin love how easy it is to do finite derivatives). Ah, I see. The left calculator treated the 3 in parentheses times the 2, as a multiplication step, but the right calculator treated the 3 in parentheses times the 2, as a parentheses step.
06:26 - Both are correct. When you have a fraction before a bracket, the bracket is multiplied with the numerator (meaning that it's 18/2, which is 9). When there's a divided sign, the meaning is different (6/6, which is one).

I think the reason they’re different is because the left one used 6/2 as a fraction and distributed it to the parentheses, 6/2 is 3 so 3x3 becomes 9. I don’t know why the calculator on the right would have distributed the 2 before dividing by 3 as PEMDAS does have multiplication before division, but you can do either as long as you go in order from left to right. So Canary Gacha I think you’re right
For the calculators they are both right depending on if its BODMAS or BOMDAS meaning brackets, order, multiply, divide, add and subtract or brackets, order, divide, multiply, add and subtract.
6:20 If you have multiplication and division in the same calculation, you go in order of writing. So its 1+2 =3, 6/2 =3, 3x3 =9. So as far as Im concerned, the left one it is.

@@jameswarner6815 Nope. First brackets, which leaves us with 6 : 2 x 3. Then we simply go in order - division leaves us wit 3x3. That equals 9. I have no idea how you got that 2 as being more important. Multiplication DOES NOT go before division. THEY GO IN ORDER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT.

The reason they don't give us pockets is so we're forced to purchase hand bags. -_- The "fashion" industry is such a messed up joke for us. You can buy the same flannel shirt at Walmart for 2 different prices. Men's is like $5-6 and women's is $12-16. It's ridiculous.

Me: "....Lexi...?"
I mean, go ahead. Not like there's anything in it.
Personally, I think the calculator on the left is right, it's 9
It all depends on if you use BIDMAS/BODMAS or PIMDAS
I think the reason they’re different is because the left one used 6/2 as a fraction and distributed it to the parentheses, 6/2 is 3 so 3x3 becomes 9. I don’t know why the calculator on the right would have distributed the 2 before dividing by 3 as PEMDAS does have multiplication before division, but you can do either as long as you go in order from left to right. So Canary Gacha I think you’re right
1
The one on the left is right, there is no +,-, / or x to symbolize what is supposed to be done so it’s automatically x or times in other words.
Yeah it is 9 (B.Brackets E.Exponents D.Division M.Multiplication A.Addition S.Subtraction)
Your next intro should be “Hey guys, my name is Jack and I am back cor another episode”
6:14 "you want to multiply before dividing"
now that is mildly infuriating
10:07 Nah, it's that one stupid wooden door from that episode of Futurama. XD
Wait where's my wallet
Fun fact, multiplication and division doesn't have priority over each other. Which one comes first, gets served first.
For the calculators they are both right depending on if its BODMAS or BOMDAS meaning brackets, order, multiply, divide, add and subtract or brackets, order, divide, multiply, add and subtract.
"I'm grabbing your attention, while Lexi steals your wallet."

The worst part about 10:60 is that you’re not even supposed to use capital letters for algebra. So it’s not just random, it’s dumb
6:20 If you have multiplication and division in the same calculation, you go in order of writing. So its 1+2 =3, 6/2 =3, 3x3 =9. So as far as Im concerned, the left one it is.
A calculator is only as smart as the person using it. The actual answer would be 1 as 2+1 is added inside the brackets first before being multiplied by 2 as they are part of the same expression. Think of 2(2+1) as representing a single value which equates to a total of 6 before anything else is done.
Why would they be the same expression? That is just 2 x (2+1).
[Deleted] nah it’s definitely not one. It’s 9. Use Pemdas or bimdas, either one will give you 9.
When it comes to multiplying and dividing instead of multiplying first you go left to right, same thing with subtracting and adding so it is really pe(md)(as)
Math answer. When something is in parentheses it is implied for multiplication
So you would multiply the 2 by 2
6:26 so you were right about the first step, but divided is in the same category as multiply, so it’s 6/2 which is 3, then multiply by 3, so it’s 9.
That was a good video!
