Funnily enough a few days before Ubisoft posted the teaser a friend and I were sitting at a bar and also discussing future annos. I said an Anno 9 would be nice and here we are... kind of.

I just visited Xanten and was looking for a city builder in Roman times. A week later this game was announced :)

Do you recommend getting anno 1800? The idea of city builders always fascinated me yet i couldnt play cities skylines or manor lords for more than a few hours, Maybe this might be it. Lovely video btw

I adore 1800, and if Roman times aren't a total game changer for you and you wouldn't want to immediately buy 117 at launch, I see no reason not to buy 1800. The Gold edition or how it's called with all the DLC is worth it, too.

@@me-is-gerg Anno 1800 is an insta buy. Best game ever. I played all city-builders and this is by far the best for me.
5:16 to the untrained eye Greek temples and Roman temples might look all the same but in reality they are very different, even on a fundamental level - but obviously the Romans got "inspired" by the Greeks since they colonized parts of Italy in 800 - 700 BCE.

Diagonal roads also where in Anno 1800 leaks but maybe they can finally pull it off 😅
@@Bambeakz There's even a mod in 1800 that enables diagonal roads 🤔
Yeah the diagonal roads is not the problem but you need some kind of triangle props to fill the spaces to a “normal” road. Would be cool if farmland and parks could be fillers
@@Bambeakz have you tried Manor Lords yet? I think it makes use of what you said, using farmland or small paths from the road to the houses to fill the space

I don't really understand how the education system works in Germany but here in Syria things are different (it's hard AF)
