  • In this video, I’m covering my custom, HVAC EDC tool belt and all the tools I carry in it.
    Using this belt makes working in the field of a lot more efficient for me. I also like it a bit better than the Veto style tool pouches as they just stick out too far from my taste, these stay nice and close to the body for a low profile or tools aren’t getting all hung up on things as you’re passing by them.
    Let me know in the comments below if you use these SOG tool pouches, and what’s your opinions on them. Also the types of things that you carry EDC on your person all of the time.
    Feel free to use the affiliate links below if you’d like to help support the channel. I make a very small commission if you purchase through the links thanks!

    My favorite combo of pliers for HVACR are the Klein "All Purpose" needlenose with the stripping and crimping function alongside a pair of the Klein Crimpers - that way you can cut things like zip-ties, but also have a good pair of crimpers.
    You do most everything you need with those two - maybe a 7" pair of KNIPEX cobras to take off caps, deal with 3/4 and 1" pvc....plus remove larger bolts/nuts if it's quicker than running back for a socket set.
    Those two pliers, the cobras, an 11n1, and your meter and you're set for diagnostic and basic repair.
    (I keep seperate kits for things like blowing out drains, Joblink for pressures/sh&sc, etc.

    Thanks for the detailed review of your edc belt.
    What belt are you using? I didn’t see a link for your brown tool holder.

    Two questions:
    1. Where do you get that 45 degree attachment?
    2. Where did you get the magnets for the tape measure and how did you attach them? Most adhesives fail for me.

  • @tredside7250
    @tredside7250 Před 5 měsíci

    you throw your measurement off with that magnet at the end of your tape

      Great Insight! honestly in HVAC we don't need to be that precise the magnet is only a couple millimeters thick so it's not really going to be that critical if it's off by a few millimeters for rough field measurements.

    That looks so uncomfortable. No strippers, needle nose pliers, nut driver, crimpers, jumpers, fuse popper, brush, etc! Would rather just have my bag next to me so I can set it down and not hanging on my hips and getting in the way when I bend over or have to lay on my side and have that stuff digging in my side or making wasted trips back to the truck to get what I should have already had with me.

    • @HVACTechKnowledgy
      @HVACTechKnowledgy  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I appreciate the feedback! But I'm not sure you even watched the video, the thumbnail literally has me holding a pair of knipex wire strippers, my SOG multi-tool has some of the best needle nose pliers and crimpers out there, I don't use nut drivers my Malco and Klein flip sockets take care of my not driving duties, and I really never felt the need to carry a brush around in my bag not knocking anyone who does but if I need a brush I'll just get one out of the truck. All that being said this is just my everyday carry setup, I also carry one of my various fully loaded out Klein or Veto bags depending on the situation. You should check out the videos I've done on my bag loadouts that's where I carry all my in-depth diagnostic tools like shortfinders, meters, test instruments Etc. Again appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching!
      Also regarding the comfort it's really not that uncomfortable for me but it might be for others depending on their situation...
