Everybody in UK loved him, a real gent. I was in tears when I heard the news. RIP from UK.
@Ross Lusby I wouldn't say bigger we are just not one ro be into hype in NZ!
Ive shed tears over Jonah Lomu Dying. He had a good singing voice .
I thought football was the most popular sport in Europe. I didn’t think rugby was relevant in the UK at all, Ireland always had a strong rugby fanbase though
I am a kiwi living in the U.K. and use a radio as our alarm. First thing I heard as I woke up that morning was Jonah Lomu had passed away. Instant tears. And I very rarely cry. He gave us so much joy and excitement. Every now and then I watch these old videos again and tear up all over again.
@@69butternut.same same. Jonah was our own house hold name during the 90s into the 2000s. He was our Ace on that field. Still miss Big Jonah always😢
u can see how humble he is by ensuring he shakes everyones hands and his body language
the reception lomu got from the audience was amazing.
Lies again? Sheng Siong SGD
In the Sporting Poetry round, Rory said Jonah Lomu was soft, which Chris Eubank countered by saying he wasn't. Rory then said "he's a poof", to which Chris responds "but he's a _big_ poof". This led Nick to insist that it was now on record that Chris Eubank thought Jonah Lomu was "a big poof".
The British did love this guy, wished we had more of him on our tele shows over here. ''NEVER FORGOTTEN ALWAYS IN OUR MEMORIES''
Jonah appeared again on the show in 2001, this time as a panellist on Gary's team. His was a fun appearance.
I love how the presenter is like "HI Jonah" 0:36 lol
hahahaha
And somehow Gary and Rory missed it. Same thing happened three series prior when David and Lee had to feel up Vinnie Jones, when Vinnie approached Gary to hand him a pair of fake oversized ears, and Gary timidly says "Hi, Vinnie".
As a person I always felt he gave a great representation of his country. Kind, considerate, competitive and a genuine nice human being. Outstanding athlete and a gent to match, much love from the UK big man, and much love to NZ ❤️
A lovely fella you can just tell…. So sad the world lost him so soon… rest in peace champ you were the best
Remember watching this episode. We loved Jonah in Wales.
My childhood hero. I got to meet him at a star mart once. What a man. They say never meet your heroes in real life, but he was a true gentleman. Bawled my eyes out when he passed. Rip Jonah
R.I.P. Brilliant Sporting Superstar, Humble decent man. Gone Far far too young , may his sons have a long and healthy life God willing.
we british certainly loved him! RIP legend

RIP Big Man true legend of the sport
One of the all time great players and I say that as a life long Wales supporter. RIP Jonah.
in the all time team you gotta have Jonah somewhere
Even the Krauts know him, we certainly are not a rugby nation, still one of the best in this sport, RIP, cheers from Berlin Germany 🇩🇪
I remember watching this as a kid and being like “geez he’s a big fella” 🤣
Yeah Rory McGrath does have a few extra pounds on him.
What a great response from the British crowd for a kiwi sportsman
Not a kiwi, a world sportsman
Shook hands with everyone - legend.
As a kiwi all this love been shown from the UK to one of our sons straight up made my eyes water God bless each & everyone of you. ❤
Jonah was an amazing player, a true gentleman, humble, and an incredible smile. Love watching him all these years later still..still cheer on the All Blacks in his memory. Best rugby player ever. NZ had an angel there. ❤
A real mean machine on the field.
RIP beautiful soul.
Taken so soon.
Love from England.
Once a legend, always a legend, and you Jonah, are a true Legend! RIP and L toks

Depressing to think he is no longer with us. Gone but never forgotten.
We cried over here (NZ) when I guy Passed on he was so nice to speak to pretty easy going, the Funeral was huge,
Miss Jonah 😢
What I would give to have met that guy! He was my first ever celebrity "hero" growing up.
Thank you BBC for appreciating one of our true greats to have played in the World game of rugby! Would have loved Jonah Lomus presence at the Japan World cup physically, but at least we'll be reminded of his trademark running styles only he could do. #InGodshands
Great player. Great man
what a legend. Love this guy. Just wish he played for the Wallabies!!
a legend R.I.P BIG MAN from Australia
Its really sad that there are bitter twisted rectums thumbs downing a lovely lovely gentleman who really was loved even by his rivals.
After this Jonah hit his 2nd puberty, got to A monstrous size and became even more of a beast on the field with pure destruction😲
Probably the only Rugby player to transcend the sport and become famous outside rugby countries. He was such a lovely person to boot. What a legend.
I miss you Jonah
We all do.
Thank you for everything 👊🏽
bring back this show
Even Chris Eubank stood up and clapped
Now that is what you call RESPECT
R.I.P. Big Man
I will never forget the day he destroyed England on his own with FOUR Tries at Twickenham
It’s mainly because just before this Chris insulted him I think he called him a pussy or something. That’s why Gary says “it’s not is it “ when he realises who it is
It wasn’t at twickenham.. South Africa rugby World Cup..
A great guy, especially when he was steamrolling over England at Twickenham. God bless him
Jonah Lomu. Great guy. RIP
Still miss this guy. RIP Jonah. Absolute legend
The love and respect for this men was on a different level. Even if you hate him you love watching the man play. R.I.P
RIP big Jonah..the GOAT
The man is well respected, well done
Legend first rugby superstar jona take rugby next level .his greatest rugby playa ever live RIP. Mr goat
Same age as me but made me look but always made me look like a little boy. Miss ya fella.
In his Prime he was 6 foot 5, 19 Stone and could do the 100m in 11 seconds, Beast
10.8 mate
It was 10.7 actually
That sounds humanly impossible, I can't think of a past or present rugby player that's been featured as much as him definitely one of a kind.
@@BurritoSenor 10.6 to be precise
Jason T definitely 10.5 certainly..
Reaction from the crowd says it all
He's an absolute beast. I think the contestants and the audience were so happy to have such a big name on there. Great stuff.
They think it's all over was quality
Feel The Sportsman was always my favourite part of They Think It's All Over
i miss Jonah so so so very much he was one of the gentlest man i ever knew
ICON. WE CALL HIM CHEWBACC.RIP.BIG FELLA.
Miss you 11.🖤
What a brilliant show this was
Total legend of rugby,. Rip
Jonah has never been happier now that he is with his Lord Jesus Christ who welcomed him, at his departure, with open arms and hands that still bear the scars that said, "I love you!"
RIP Jonah
And that was the closest any Englishman ever got to Lomu whilst he held a rugby ball.
Jonah Lomu was to rugby union in the 90's what Shane Warne was to cricket at the same time. Both supremely talented, mesmerising to watch and liked by pretty much everyone, even their rivals. Sadly, neither of them are with us any more.
I remember playing in a regional sevens tournament in NZ in 1991. All the players were senior players with an average age of probably 23 to 25. There was a whisper going through the whole tournament about this freak schoolkid dominating everyone, yep it was a 16 year old schoolboy Jonah Lomu.
RIP Jonah.
The great Jonah. "Moe e mai e hoa ma."
The best ever.
Chris eubank was a lomu fan ahah niceee
A Giant and a Legend ⭐⭐⭐
Daisy you're fired!
One of the best TV moments of all time. What the clip doesn’t show are the comments Chris Eubank had been making about him earlier in the program, which was one of the reasons for the crowd reaction when the great man came on, the other reason of course was the genuine respect for a great, humble, respectful human being who unfortunately left us too soon.
In the Sporting Poetry round just prior to Feel the Sportsman, Rory said Jonah Lomu was soft, which Chris Eubank countered by saying he wasn't. Rory then said "He's a poof", to which Chris responds "Yes, but he's a _big_ poof". This led Nick to insist that it was now on record that Chris Eubank said Jonah Lomu was "a big poof". That's why after Jonah comes on stage to that huge reaction, Nick says "Well, that was pleasure itself!"
Legend!
and blindside. I still remeber his white touch shoes he use to play in. The good old days.
True
awesome guy
God's speed Jonah
Dude jonah startd his rugby career as a forward he didnt become a winger till he made district teams!

Just to give people context of what happened here... During the show they asked Chris Eubank if he could beat up Jonah Lomu and Chris said yes and then later in the show Jonah Lomu was the mystery guest

A Gentle Giant 😎

RIP
R.I.P jonah
RIP Fella.
What a guy. RIP.
Just watched this clip again, forgot I'd even commented 😅.
R.I.P. Jonah Lomu (1975-2015)
this was a great prog
I suppose even though he was already a Z list celebrity in those days, Eubank would secretly fancy his chances of dropping him if he managed to get a decent punch in.
He's much smaller, but still, he was the best middle weigh boxer in the world for quite a while.
@FlySoHigh13 He wasn't slagging him off in a bad way. Nick Hancock had called Jonah a poof, and Chris Eubank responded with "Yeah, but he's a big poof". Was still damn funny when he came out though :D
I sincerely hope so mate, I reaaaaaaaaaaaalllllyyyyyy do.
JONAH LOMU is da MAN:):)"):):):)
