It was so epic, mass castle dropping in a 5v1! How desperate can you be, at least have some honor and fight with army. It was an interesting game until that point. You think this guy is a magician who can fight 5v1 underneath castles? 11 I would make a rule for this setting, no castle/tc/tower drops in range of buildings unless defensively for them. We want to see fun games with army and crazy micro.
I'm guessing you guys weren't on say a discord call since that would have made it harder for H, but it would have been low key awesome to hear you guys panicking :P

Honestly hera you should do regicide when you do 3-1 or 4-1. Killing someone off completely in team games is so hard. At least in regicide you can snipe and knock players off faster. Maybe do it so where you don’t get a free castle in the beginning or something but there is still a king.
That's a great idea, that make king snipe a win condition no matter how things get.
@@DanJiangIf anything it will make things more difficult, they can run the kings to a different player and Hera will waste time chasing them around.
A better way would be sudden death. Lose initial TC = lose the game.
@@EugeneOneguine True. Sudden death would be better. I am just not sure about the losing initial TC bit, the other team may wall much more and would castle drop/siege push Hera earlier.
@@DanJiang I mean, if they wall like crazy, it hurts their eco a lot. If they get to the point where Heras TC is castle dropped, like in this video, hes probably dead anyway.
Pretty fair, it's like chess, you don't have to capture every piece to win, just delivery the checkmate
5 is way too many. Maybe you should try 1vs4 but with a population limit like 300 or more and some fast-booming civ. Pro players are usually pop-capped much sooner than noobs. So a higher population limit would allow you a longer population advantage over the average population of your opponents. I saw some Vinchester vs several weaker opponents games like this and it was fun.
Hera was never pop capped in this game. Pressure was too much.

Anyway, well done guys, and that includes you as well Hera. It was interesting a pro try to defeat 5 opponents, but it is also just as interesting to see a team try their best to not succumb to the early pressure Hera applied.

ok, I just started playing the game, barely managed to get silver medal in first tutorial mission, then i come here, i see Hera doing 100 things per second while talking to the chat. XD. Love this game but I dont even think about competitive lol. And yes, you got my sub, you deserve it.

New vid idea: Hera + noob / mid-tier player vs 5 others... Hera's the only one who does anything like this, always blows my mind.
At some point this challenge needs to be Sudden Death. Hera can't super macro on 5 TCs, but he can actually kill players off. As long as the other team is commited to never surrender even if they take crippling dmg, players can always come back

Haven't played online more than a few times years ago and also haven't played more than 5 games vs AI in recent years. But watching a lot of tournaments. Where to sign up for the noob squad? :D

@@orhanburhan2161 Definitely no. Hera tried 2v6 with TheViper and Viper picked Mongols. Mathematically 2v6 is similiar to 1v3... Also, Hera lost a 1v5, so 1v7 is just a crazy idea. Would be fun to see tho lol

@@orhanburhan2161 Hm... The problem would be if his enemies would go for siege too... 7 players can just cut through the trees in 2-3 places and that would be 2 or more players per road, not including the main one; defending like this would be pretty hard.

well, i was playing a lot of 1v5 on aoe 3 vs AI, and what i have discovered is that ur best shot is to boom. Imo noob players r not able to rush and they are slow in developement with bad micro. So next time i think ur goal should be to get as fast as possible castle age, get 4 tcs and reach 100+ vils. Taking a civ like magyars with hca and hussars would be great to kill everything they make. So how fast can u reach to 100 vils Hera ?

It almost looks like 1 v 1's lol! A shame about the bad mic though, the voice sound is soooo low. I have to put my laptop sound on maximum and still barely can hear anything. While the game sound is harder than the voice.
imagine these newbies somethere in that bottom to right map corner having some trade train , would be insane eco for these newbies, while Hera would struggle to keep that train from going and blockign eco of all 5 players at once .. >_>

i think you can try to win vs7, standard game, build wonder and defend it; highly recommending byzantines
Try next time fast castle and build Seige workshop in the middle and send 2 knights and 1 mango to each player, people lower than 1k cant deal with early seige

I did not see the video, but I can tell, 3 beginners should spawn 1 tier units, 2 should spawn tier 2 units, and GG.
Can you beat Five Guys? I think Shake Shack and In-and-Out burger do compete well with Five Guys, but I'd say they're all the same tier.
I think in these kinds of games you have to use their slowness and unoptimized eco against them, something like FC Conq, they are not fast enough to hit you hard before you reach castle and once you have defensive castle then its hard for them to effectively attack you while you can go ham on their feudal units with Conqs.
Well that is assuming you will get good UU civ, or maybe you pick civ and they dont to give you little edge, so you can brainstorm tactic before match.

Well, against the beginners, I guess that Goths can be great - go for fast Man-at-Arms, and if I on my level was able to produce them constantly in Feudal Age, then it's probably easy to just mass like 25 Man-at-Arms, add maybe a few Villagers (for forward Barracks) and go quickly destroy one of your opponents; Man-at-Arms melt buildings. Also, the late game for Goths is crazy, I was able to hold a Black Forest 1v3 (long story, it was a diplo game and my ally left the game 💀) once against the players on my level, just infinitely spamming Halberdiers... And Spanish with early Conquistadors are great too. I guess any civilization that survive until late game and then wreck havoc will be the best.
Oh yeah, Mongols with early Mangudai would be probably fun too.

I asked this question in a previous video, can anyone help me answer this question. I can’t find any information on what happens when you task a villager to start collecting a different kind or resource. Does it disappear? I always feel like I have to manually drop off resources before I switch their job because I don’t want to lose out on what they have in their inventory. For example, say they are holding 9 food and you change them to wood. Will they drop it off the next time they switch back to food or maybe garrison at the town center later in the game?
Love your videos Hera, they have definitely helped me improve and really appreciate the skill it takes to play this game. Appreciate any feedback or suggestions!
every time you shift the vills to other ressources then you loose it if you dont drop it off.
In the original AOE 2 lets say you have a villager on food and you accidentaly click a tree you would lose the food immediately. In definitive edition you will not lose the food unless the villager starts actually chopping the tree. But yes, you need to click to drop off resources before switching the villagers task because it wont happen automatically. One exception is: if you build any economic building with a villager carrying resources they will be dropped off when the building is constructed, no matter the resources. So lets say you are carrying 8 gold, if you build a mill, lumber camp, farm, mining camp, dock, any of those you will get the 8 gold once the building is finished.
And if I switch from boar to deer or sheep?
@@highparadise11 you do not lose the food since it's the same resource type. If you switch from boar to sheep villagers will drop off food beefore starting to collect from the sheep. And you don't need to force drop it. it will happen automatically.

How does this sound? If you go for archers the way you did in this game: send a villager out with one of the groups of archers. At a safe time where you have military to protect the villager, build a tower. It doesn't have to threaten much at first, because the main purpose is to establish a base. Invest in a stone gate so units can leave without leaving the tower vulnerable to a villager rush.
Then just park four archers and the villager inside the tower until castle age. You can harass if you want, but avoid trading them off against military like you did against scouts in this game.
Once you start being able to raid with knights, use this villager to build a siege workshop and a ram. With knights to protect, and maybe the villager repairing, you can kill a TC.
You can set it up so that if you want, the villager can build a monastery through the corner of walls or something, if you see a lot of knights being prepared.
If you do this but make units other than a ram, just make sure they can't get killed by melee by building walls around the positions they'll be attacking from.
One of the purposes of this is to cause your opponents to divide their forces between two places that you have fortified, while your main army can concentrate for a local advantage.
