I love this kind of music but to say that all modern music is trash is just wrong. Now granted a lot of modern hip-hop and rap IS and a fair amount of modern pop but there's more than that out there.

“Lonesome Town”...what a FANTASTIC song! It was common knowledge back in the 50’s that Ricky Nelson was jealous of Elvis (as if he needed to be!). At the time, while in his mid-teens, he was dating a girl who was a BIG Elvis fan. She raved about Elvis all the time! Ricky got tired of hearing her going on and on about Elvis, so he started singing and playing the guitar just to show her that he could do it, too...and do it just as well, I may add!

I cant listen to this song without crying, I want to get this out but I have no one to say this to. I regret not calling my paw paw I could have said good bye for the last time. But I was selfish and didn't want to call him because I was to "busy" now I would do anything to see him again. On his last day living on this earth I could have called him and tell him I love him, I could have said my last goodbye to him. And not it's to late, this song brings up all my guilt.

“Lonesome Town”...what a FANTASTIC song! It was common knowledge back in the 50’s that Ricky Nelson was jealous of Elvis (as if he needed to be!). At the time, while in his mid-teens, he was dating a girl who was a BIG Elvis fan. She raved about Elvis all the time! Ricky got tired of hearing her going on and on about Elvis, so he started singing and playing the guitar just to show her that he could do it, too...and do it just as well, I may add!
So glad I grew up in the 50's listening to this music. Hey where's the fireworks and wardrobe malfunctions. Where's the crazy dancers and pyrotechnics. No sir, One man singing with a couple guitars and a few back up singers.
