This comeback feels like a real callback to Dalla Dalla and Wannabe both in music and the message of the lyrics. I love it!

i think y’all’s interpretation is correct considering none of my business and bet on me went into the hate they have been getting since sneakers. i really loved this song it brought me back to their old era like dalla dalla and icy which made me feel nostalgic. y’all should definitely react to their album because it’s amazing

it took me a few listens to really understand this song because it felt like there was so many unique and different aspects of this song, almost reminded me of nmixx's concept in a way, but after some listens and views I really like this release and I think its really unique and stands out from a lot of releases because of its intricacy. The entire EP is really phenomenal and I hope them the best with this comeback!!

What I think about Cake:
I love the MV, the visual of the MV is simple yet it is beautiful and fresh, which is fit with their meaningful lyrics. I love the chorus and bridge, it is so heavenly and gorgeous and Itzy nails this.
Ok, so to the meaning behind the scenes:
First, “Cake”, which Itzy mentioned in their Kill My Dout showcase, the upbeat and spirited song "Cake" stresses the value of being present at the moment, accepting one's uniqueness, and tackling difficulties head-on. In the song, the word "cake" is used frequently as a metaphor for the reminder: just as enjoying a slice of cake is a simple pleasure, so too should we tackle life's issues without overthinking them or letting them bring us down.
What Itzy want to spread a message through"CAKE" is their empowerment and self-assurance through the song's lyrics. They stress the need of making the most of each day and avoiding unnecessary complications. They claim that when issues are tackled with the proper perspective, they can be easily conquered by comparing life's trials to a piece of cake.
ITZY's song "CAKE" highlights the value of being true to oneself, making the most of the present moment, and facing challenges head-on without creating needless complications. The metaphor of a cake, which represents the notion of savoring each bite of life and accepting things as they come, serves as the song's central metaphor.
The song conveys a vital message: while life is full of uncertainties, focusing on the present moment is more gratifying than getting caught up in worries about what could happen next. One might live a more fulfilling life by welcoming each day and taking on obstacles with a calm, confident attitude.
Secondly, the black and yellow people that you see in the MV are represented by people on the hate train who throw hate comments at Itzy for no reason (you can see that they shoot bullets at Itzy) just because of one single comeback that they don’t like and say to my girls that they are flopping a.k.a the black people and the yellow person which is us, Midzy, as you can see at the beginning of the video, the yellow person always protect Itzy, at the first scene you can see that a yellow person who holding an umbrella for Lia and look at Lia all the times just to make sure that she is safe from the chaos and at the last scene you can see the yellow person is vibing with Itzy, they are dancing and smiling with Itzy.
Throughout times Midzy will always protect, share and support Itzy at any cost. Love you girls, and hope Itzy can have a successful comeback of course hope Itzy is always safe, confident and lovely, smiling with their effort of what they are contributing and yeah hope all Midzy that are listening to this song stay safe, and healthy and support our girls.

Ryujins rap is like: do i want to be a chair, or a cake XD This song is imo seating at the same table as Sneakers and Bet On Me, and i'm here for it .
In regards to the meaning of the MV, I can't help but feel like it's a visual representation of their trajectory over the past year? I don't know if JYP would be so bold to allow this, but obviously ITZY has lost popularity over the past while through both Sneakers and Boys Like You. Their advertising and concept production had done significant blows to the group ITZY as a whole, but despite it all, they kept going and kept slaying. In this MV, in a far more literal sense, everything keeps going wrong production-wise, but aside from the occasional glace at their surroundings, the girls keep going.
Like I said, I don't know if JYP would be daring enough to reflect on their marketing mishaps in this way, but it could've been of influence to whoever directed this MV and made the concept (?)

Hi guys! I hope you saw, Itzy Cozy House! I guess it was like a B and B. I enjoyed it! It is a great way to get to know the girls as they really are.
Ta-Da! The first girly type mv for your enjoyment is: Shampoo, by After School. It's more of a story than a mv. A young girl, Raina, wants to join a dance school. Things get complicated when she changes her hair color to blonde. Even I enjoyed it primarily because Raina is my bias in After School and her sub group, Orange Caramel. (The latter is the most successful sub group in Kpop history) Enjoy!

im very conflicted about this album, it feels like i love half of all the songs and then not a big fan of the other half of all of them, feels like theyre all either a great chorus or verse, mixed with a whole different vibe verse/chorus if that makes sense

The demons and masked shooters are haters, and antifans. Taking their shots at ITZY and always missing. Throwing obstacles at ITZY but they just sidestep them and move on.

Song of the Year: most likely NO
the song received mixed/polarizing reviews, especially the “CAKE x 100 times part” is annoying, I agree also, it’s catchy but ruins the song. Or the could’ve sung the “Cake part, softly and melodically. The “it’s a piece of cake” lyrics isn’t even clear to be heard correctly, why would the producers even bother with it?!?
As for the distribution, they could’ve given the last chorus to Lia, chae or Yeji, even ryujin herself performed it live and couldn’t/didn’t want to sing it cause it was about way above her tone/register.
The MV was okay. the members are cute, but let’s be honest, ITZY was born to be edgy, fierce and strong!!
Album of the year: definitely YES!
The B-sides are so good most of them need a MV and performance MV!
Kill Shot deserves a performance MV
Psychic lover deserves an animated MV!
Overall, all JYPE girl groups deserve better.
Twice, Itzy, Niziu and Nmixx are stuck in a company where they just want to make money by milking out the talent, energy and effort do the girls. compared to companies that want their groups to succeed and actually want to make it to the top.
