Its always been HIPLIFE even till now and its still is ...dont get it how we started calling it Afrobeats....I used to watch Music Africa here in Ghana too..it was huge back then and huge in Nigeria too....but as usual Ghanaians never cherish what they have ....i believe strongly it was our music that brought alot of Nigerian young hustlers to the streets and schools of Ghana back then in the early to mid 2000s....Hiplife was BIG!!.....big ups Pato more wins

That's a complete lie.. Remedies (group consisting of Idris, Tony tetulla, and Eddie) were formed in 1997, and they had major hit in Nigeria with shakomo in 1999. Before then, we had the daddy shokey, daddy fresh, Junior and Pretty in the earlier 90s) that were the talk of towns in those eras. No one listened to Ghanains hiplife, as a matter of fact, not sure any of your musicians were popular in Nigeria in the 90s and earlier 2000.

Asake and Portable too blew in Ghana. This same mentality is the reason they believe Fela learnt music from Ghana whereas Ebo Taylor and Osibisa had shows too in Nigeria (Nigerian are smart enough to know the difference). If any artist visit Ghana for shows or promotion, automatically they blew in Ghana.
