യേശു പറഞ്ഞു ഞാൻ സൗമ്യതയും താഴ്മയും ഉള്ളവനാകയാൽ എൻ്റെ നുകം ഏറ്റു എന്നോട് പഠിക്ക. ലൂക്കോ 4 : 22 , മത്താ 7 : 29 യേശുവിൻ്റെ വചനം കേട്ട ജനം പറഞ്ഞു യേശു ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെ അല്ല. അധികാരമുള്ളവനായിട്ടത്രേ സംസാരിച്ചത് - യേശുവിൻ്റെ ലാവണ്യവാക്കുകൾ നിമിത്തം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു. ( 1 ) യേശു സ്നേഹത്തിൽ ഭയമില്ലാതെ സംസാരിച്ചു. ( മറ്റൊരു സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ) യേശുവിനെ യഹൂദൻമാർ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു - ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവൻ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു - ചാർച്ചക്കാർ ഭ്രാന്ത് ഉണ്ട് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് പരിഹസിച്ചു. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ യേശു തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തി ( 2 ) സ്നേഹത്തിൽ ഭയമില്ലാതെ മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു. യേശു പറഞ്ഞു ഞാൻ സൗമ്യതയുള്ളവനാണ്. കൂടാതെ പിതാവ് അനുവദിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ ജീവിക്കാൻ യേശു തയ്യാറായിരുന്നു . ഫിലി 2 : 3 - 8 എല്ലാ സമയത്തും തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്ന മനസ്സ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവം അനുവദിച്ച സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ യേശു ത്യപ്തനായിരുന്നു . യേശു ഉയർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റ ശേഷവും ശിഷ്യൻമാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് പ്രഭാത ഭക്ഷണം ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുകയും അവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. യേശു പറഞ്ഞു ഞാൻ താഴ്മയുള്ളവനാണ്. നമുക്കും ഈ യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിക്കാം. ദൈവം നമുക്ക് തരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും ( ഭാര്യ - മക്കൾ - സഭയിലുള്ളവർ - ചുറ്റും ഉള്ള അയൽവാസികൾ ) ബഹുമാനിക്കാം.
