Far more likely to benefit from the scan that to suffer any harm?
From what I have read, ionized radiation is harmful. There is no acceptable level that is safe.
A year’s worth of background radiation through one scan is a lot.
Could not the same results be obtained by an MRI or some sort of ultrasound, neither of which use radiation?
The dye injected contains iodine, correct? Does this substance linger in the body afterwards?

Indeed and that's why docs have careful protocols to follow before they send you into one. Risk management, it's called, but generally ppl are lousy at that with antiwaxxers etc.

@@hni7458 Today, they tend to use the term low-dose radiation. But there really is no dose of ionized radiation that is considered safe.

@@sarahmccoy1941 Indeed, and having said the above, I too am suspicious of the x-ray routine shots they fire at the dentists. "No more than a flight over the Alps" they say, but still we know that some pilots have developed cancer over time and got that accepted as an occupational illness.
