Gorgeous.... perfect example of Turning cheap furniture into Highend pieces ...love your videos and tutorials Shannon 🥰👍
Watching you paint so close to the drawer & not get a drop on it.....I'm always cleaning up my messes. Thx for your relaxed, & informative videos!
I love this technique. I have the perfect piece for it. Also I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful gift with all of us. I sold my first piece inspired by your black paint technique. It turned out beautiful. ❤
I love all of these finishes you do. They have always sold well for me. For 3 or so years now :)
I think it's a cute piece of furniture, turned out super cute!! Thanks for your wonderful videos!!😅😅
My first time seeing this technique before. Looks easy and turned out great. Thanks for teaching us.
Thanks for making this look like fun! I'm usually intimidated by getting the finish done perfectly, instead of enjoying the process and treating it like an art project.
I love this finish, I am not one for solid color. This perfect to do a new look for my bedroom furniture. Thanks for awesome tutorial.
Hello!!! I just found your CZcams channel. I'm in Australia...and absolutely love your work, and video's. BTW, your voice is so pleasant and easy to listen to .
I appreciate the real-time brush/rag strokes with sound. I am just learning about working with furniture & little things like how to stroke a brush, not only which direction, but how hard do you press, as well as how much of the different mediums do you load on to your brush really helps me learn. Fantastic video.
Hey I happen to see this in a video today and had to share. Hope you see this comment. Next time you do your top coat get a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Cut it in half and use the edges of the sponge. The lady in the video said the sponge somehow suctions to the wood and helps prevent bubbles in your top coat. Plus going on smooth as well. If I knew how to link the video I would. Just thought it was something to try since you love your sponges to apply now. Lol
Another beauty! I just wanted to tell you that I won a Zibra Art weekly pick on a buffet that I used your P.B. finish on. :) I'm grateful for your videos and the skills I've learned from them!
Great makeover. 🎉 What a difference between the original and the end result. Beautiful 😊
I’m so glad that you save these poor souls from the trash heap. Just because they started life from the wrong side of the tracks doesn’t mean they can’t be a thing of beauty! I also love the valspar glaze medium and you showed me a new application technique..thank you!
Rhe handles are amazing! Beautiful transformation! Thanks so much for sharing
Amo la gente que hace ésto, porque cómo primero está salvando a la tierra ,y por ahí derecho a los bolsillos ayudándose con el dinero que hace. Excelente, no pares que estás haciendo una gran labor... 🙏💌
What a difference!! I hope you showed your neighbor what her trash can look like!!
Shannon....U R such an INCREDIBLE ARTIST!!! I love following you and ALL your HELPERS and have sold a few pieces using some of your TECHNIQUES!!! U R so giving of your expertise and such a delight to listen to!!! I thought maybe I could send you a trick I learned years ago. I notice you using a small container or cup to dip out some paint and I've also watched you wiping the side of paint cans with your brush. Those things will never change but I thought I could save you some messy clean-up when putting your lids back on. Buy an ice pick with some type of handle that you can hit with some type of hammer. Place the pick in the groove where the lid tucks into and punch holes in that area at about an inch apart. Then your paint will flow back into your paint can and you won't have to use your brush to clean that area out, and your lids will not be so overloaded with paint each time you try to close or open them...:) Thanks for everything you share...:)
I like how you got a simple piece and use discounted products to make something beautiful. I have to subscribe.😊
Thank you soooo mucho for sharing all your painting tips and tricks ideas, you are a really talented teacher.❤🙏🏻
I love this! And I've been wondering how to achieve the white wax look. I can't wait to try it and thank you so much!
Shannon - I’m doing a bedroom set for a client in your PB finish to match a bed she bought from Raymore and Flannigan. I did a sample board that my client was happy with. I did the black on one drawer and the finish seems too dark so this video is perfect timing for me!! I’m gonna try mixing the black 50/50 with the cotton & Jute tomorrow to see if that’s better. I will do the white wax as well. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas!
Very pretty Shannon! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Just GORGEOUS! ❤❤ IT
Loved All the tips ❤ the Glaze with the paint and the white wax just looks Beautiful
How beautiful this turned out!!!!! It looks so expensive !! !!! The Finnish looks like frosting on a cake !!!!!!
Love that description!
You did great on this one. I’ll be referring back to the video. Btw I purchased the orbital sander! It’s been such a time saver .. I wish you could get a commission!
So pretty! Loved watching this transformation.
What a beautiful turnout! ❤
I just wanted to say that I love watching you. You have actually inspired me to actually makeover my furniture. Trust me I so not artistic that my stick people look funny. Lol By the way I have watched a couple other videos with the Pottery Barn finish you perfected and they reference your video. By the way yours was better. Lol Please keep it up. You have given me so many ideas for my house. Thank you!
Not only did you make this junky dresser beautiful, you saved it from the landfill. I wish dumps would still let people "shop" and save them.
❤ your videos🎉🎉🎉🎉 this is fun to do I have been using your technique and I have so much fun doing it.Thank you!
Great work!! Just beautiful.
Beautiful!!!
That is beautiful fantastic job
Looks amazing! Great video. Does the white wax dry hard or remain waxy and rub off? Thanks for the tips!
Was wondering the same thing ….
It dries as hard as other waxes I’ve used, great for bedroom furniture but I wouldn’t use on a table top or chair legs ya know
@@blacksheephouse Thank you! You’re awesome!
Such a beautiful look!
Beautiful
Love it so much!
Wow just beautiful!!
Absolutely gorgeous ❤
Beautiful work
This is absolutely beautiful. Does the wax dry hard with that look? I am guessing this is not the same wax that is used with chalk paint?
Pretty. Don't think I realized there is white wax too.
Love it!!!! This is what I want!!!!
Well done!!
love it thanks for the information
You should try Rustoleum smoked glazed and their aged glaze.
I like the makeover of your furniture. I'm from Australia 🇦🇺 I'm not able to find Gel stains in my country can I use something to get the same finish as gel strains? Please help me
Does the white wax feel hard once dry or goopy and rubbery?
Hi, I just found this video! I am wondering about the liquid sandpaper. I don't know how to use it, I am hoping to update some very old tables I got from a Pottery Barn outlet. Do you have any videos about how to use the product
I love all of your videos. I recently refinished by kitchen cabinets from cherry to white. I am now looking at refinishing my cherry colored particle board top table and chairs. My countertop is black and my furniture in the adjacent room is cherry. I was thinking of trying to match the Pottery Barn Auburn color for the table top with black legs and chairs. Can you recommend a base color and gel color for me to start with?
I have same set. Was wondering what to do.... need to save for my son and his apartment...Special Need adult...I am beginner....Have water damage on top. How to fix? Thanks so much!! Looks great!!!
I've been waiting for this kind of help for a long time. Want to re-paint my black ikea dresser (talll thin vanity I think they call it?) a dark green, not olive, not forest, but something in between. If you have anything like that please point me. Or if that comes up for you, I'll be all eyes. Thanks!
I have some rattan dining chairs I found that I stripped the awful dark thick shiny stain off such a pain. I don’t know what finish to do.
How do you like the liquid sand paper? I would do anything not to have to actually sand furniture.
Same question: i have been sanding down to make sure the paint sticks. How effective is that liquid sand paper? Looks like a nice option.
Question!!! Not about this video but was just watching a craft video where she sealed milk paint with Hemp Oil.... says it dries flat. Have you ever used for a piece? I'm not sure how durable or long lasting it is.... desperately looking for a sealer that won't change my beautiful wood color🥺
I have a question is that furniture paint or is that regular Glidden like the one you would use for the walls??
👍👍👍
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Looks great! Was the paint that you added to the glaze , rugged tan?
Do you use the rugged tan paint mix with the gaze?
why do you leave the drawers in while painting? thanks!
I love all your stuff have you ever used Heritage all in one paint? What are your thoughts?
Hey Kate,
I recently tried Heritage All in one paint- I loved it in my sprayer (watered down 20) it went on beautifully smooth in 2 coats. I did prime first because of all the wood filler but no topcoat. A real time saver -will use it again in my sprayer, I didn’t care for the orange peel texture even with whiz roller. I wonder what Shannon’s thoughts are? I followed “A Ray Of Sunlight”’s CZcams look for her video -herringbone drawer
I’ve been meaning to ask you if I can use floetrol to give me some work time on these kind of finishes?
You can do that for sure
Hi. In your video you use valspar antiquing glaze but your description says varathane dark glaze.... I'm confused 😕
Great job by the way! I definitely will be referring back to this video.😊
Oh thanks for letting me know! It’s valspar antiquing glaze and I mixed it half and half with the paint I used to get a lighter brown color 🖤
Where are you getting the primer...???
Do you have to buff this after the wax sits for 24 hours?
I didn’t buff it to keep the matte finish and I never buff any wax for that same reason but it does say on the can to buff after it dries
Paint , it’s waterbase??
It's not all the time that cardboard furniture is not cheap! We pay big money for low quality Furniture here in the south! But it's impossible to beat the real wood! Even though it is a I throw away.
was any of this chalk paint
No, but I have done this type of technique with chalk paint and found that it absorbs the glaze more than I like so I prefer a paint that has a bit of sheen to it so that the glaze moves across it easily when I brush it. If you do prefer chalk paint, you could add a coat of poly in between before you apply the glaze to get the same effect from this video 🖤.
Did u show ur neighbors what there missing ?? Did she buy $$$$ it back from u
It was looking good before
