@@supervegeta101 I got a second Switch less than a year ago and it had that problem, even the buttons stopped working propperly and the rumble from my left joycon is horrible, and I haven't used the switch too much

We got a switch day 1 nothing wrong with them, and now we have 2 more switch’s with even more extra joycons all working fine.
I just feel like many people are rough with their consoles and controllers, but I guess they may have gotten duds.

The home button on the real pro controller will definitely wake up the switch. Thats literally the only way I wake it up.

i ordered one of that "NOT" Pro-Controller stuff and just arrived earlier. it came with the knock off box btw. but heck, the L button doesn't work and the R and ZR buttons are malfunctioning af.

a not necessarily cheap, but cheaper alternative to the switch pro controller is using a dual shock 4. you're only saving five bucks, but it's better than nothing.

oh sorry didn't have time to explain properly.
you need a usb to butooth adapter, which lets you connect a dual shock 4 to a nintendo switch. not every blutooth adapter works for this (you can find lists of which ones do online i think) but the bottom line is that you can still save money if you already happen to have a blutooth adapter and even more if you already happen to own a PS-4

I've got the same knockoff controller, and it like LOOKS and FEELS nice but the buttons and sticks are worse than using the joycons even. Finally got a second hand pro controller and it's beaauutifulll

I'd be pretty iffy if I'd be buying a second hand pro controller. What if they claim a fake one to be a real second hand pro controller. Fakes have nintendo logos now.

3:35 Thanks for showing this! Other controllers also have that external deadzone and axis snapping too, the Hori and PDP Gamecube controllers included. The PowerA wired GC also has a very slight axis snap but the deadzones are fine, there's an extremely small external deadzone which is pretty much identical to the ProCon. the PowerA Wireless GC has no snapping on axes at all and behaves exactly like a ProCon stick.

I think if you consider this a spare parts controller for buttons, battery, shell, it's quite good value, if you scuff your controller and want a 2nd "parts" controller, this is it basically.
Nice review, complete and precise details! In the first 3 minutes makes you wanna buy it. Then... the calibration test + watching inside and the absence of HD Rumble feature.... makes you wanna dump it in to the garbage.
I JUST watched this and I have to say, I ALREADY GOT THIS LAST YEAR and it doesn’t have the flaws you pointed apart from the calibration
Oh yeah, that legendary Pro Controller quality control, that made me open up my original pro controller and fix the D-Pad they just couldn't get right....
I also got one of the knockoffs and it's surprisingly good. The only disadvantage that really bothers me is the missing wake up option.

Completely agree, i have one of those controls and every aspect you have mentioned its true: its just take a very high risk, mine came with a very poor battery life, and definetly the sensitive is a mess. I use it only for casual multiplayer games with my friends.

I got the Xenoblade one and it’s a solid controller, for what it’s worth. Also my d-pad works fine.
Note: The SN30Pro 8Bitdo has exactly the same problem with the analog stick. Less in the case of the dead zone (but there are users who complain about that as well), but mainly in the total course of the stick. Updating the contole to 1.30 solves the problem on the PC, but not on the Switch.
Got 2 of these with the smash pro controller design for $50 a few months ago. Feels almost like the real thing, just a tad bit stiffer. Would recommend if you play with multiple people.

Forgot to mention that there is no nfc amiibo support, even though their box says so.
Got this and it came out great! Sync was easy with the included cable. Amiibo, wake from sleep are not there and vibration is indeed harsh but overall its one of the best value for money purchase i've made.

'power A' controller also wakes up switch and its the fastest Synch of any controller even the PRO. The pro has issues finding my switch but the knockoff doesnt. Its also only half the price of a pro controller. Its only missing NFC.

I found a controller that is basically like the Alibaba one, but it had a lot of quality. Only thing it didn't have was Amiibo Support. It came in a nice NS box as well

It’s definitely a 50/50 risk of getting a shitty controller and great controller, but I took a gamble and got a great controller

I have one of these and it’s exactly the same as the official one minus the NFC support, everything else works perfect, I had none of the issues in this video

I got one almost a month ago when I watched the beatemups vid on fake switch controllers and it’s really been treating me well as an awesome alternative. Mine came in almost perfect as everything was calibrated well and not defective.
I already have the official pro controller, but would you recommend me getting this one as a secondary controller?
Yah definitely the motion controls work great and the rumble is really just an afterthought. The only thing u may or may not miss is the nfc chip for amiibo’s but otherwise it’s an awesome buy.

I got one of these a while ago and it works perfectly there’s no need to get the 60 joints imo...
I'm guessing they put a cheaper battery in the knockoff. Would have been worth mentioning the capacity in the video because the battery is a big highlight of the official pro controller.
got mine and using it for about 3 hours a day and it last about a week.
i own both and have disassembled both. they use the same exact battery

I have this controller in this controller works pretty good not saying it doesn't have it's problems but you are right it does not turn on when you press the home to turn your game on once in a while it does and I haven't tried the joystick calibration yet but now I am willing to try them because you brought me up to speed on how to test this stuff out I do really appreciate your input in U telling people how things work and over all I think you're more in forming about certain things

You know what's shady? Asking 70 dollars for a controller that's not far of this one.. Nintendo are money hungry bastards and as long as you pay they will keep making stuff expensive beyond reason.
I got one from ali Express. Smash bros edition. Came in the knock off box but was beat up. Thanks usps. Pretty much the same as the on in this vid but the things i found was the vibration was much more annoying than the oem one. But personally i can live with it. The right stick is way more sensitive than my oem controller. It was hard to pair at first but once i turn on wired controller thing then plug it in turn off wired controller thingy then it pairs just fine every time.
If you have a budget for the eom ones just buy those. If you have a lil bro buy him one of these because he rages in Mario kart and makes the controller take flight. Also when the switch is docked in sleep mode the controller wont wake up the console but my oem one does. But i can live with that. Other than that every button works. Including my d pad.
Ps. I have played 10 hours with it. No major problems. I think its luck of the draw. Wulff den got a crap one. I got a good one.
Edit:(8/27/20) the one joycstick is kinda binding up but it still works. Mainly use it as a hand to your angery lil bro controler. The controler i hand to kids i dont like lol

I bought one about a month and a half ago and it’s amazing mine doesn’t have any dead zones and it works perfectly the d-pad works great and I would rate it a 10/10 amazing value
I took a risk but it was 100% worth it
There's a few of these out there that have the color palletes for the limited edition controllers, and I'm very tempted to get some just for the shells that they have.

I got a third-party Pro Controller for my Switch, and it was $27 on Amazon. The only issues I had with it were that the left analog stick started drifting the first time I put the Switch into sleep mode, but it’s fine after recalibration, also the red paint on it rubs off on the seams and edges, but it’s fine aside from that.
lol I bought a few of these like 3 months ago, I feel like I could throw in some input.
I bought the controllers from a different store, and it came in the knockoff box that was in the picture.
My friend left his pro controller over at my house so I compared the two and I noticed that the buttons felt different as well as the bumpers.
The sticks are perfect on mine with the exception of a c stick on one of them, I bought these for smash and sometimes the right one will not register a down input on the controller. I fixed this by just putting more pressure on the stick and the problem goes away (but it still comes back after some time, hasn't in a while though...)
The controllers even now feel perfectly fine and no new problems have emerged, the only thing is that the buttons go down a little easier than I remember they did at launch, so the controller probably wears out faster than a genuine one(?)
Also to connect these guys I just went to change order and pressed the left and right triggers. I don't know why every person that used these had to connect it via cable, but I was able to connect even to other people's switches by just turning it on and pressing the triggers a couple times.
The controller lacks NFC I believe, so you can't turn the switch on with it like you mentioned.
I thought there was input lag in smash like you, but according to ESAM there's something like 8 frames of input + wireless connection lag (gamecube controller is still fastest in that regard).

I bought one a bit before the time of this vid and it’s been really good. non of the problems in this video are non existent except for the wake, which I am fine with because I go to my switch anyway. I may be one of those lucky few that got a really good switch

I bought a clone Splatoon Pro Controller from Wish, which my Switch registers it as the Splatoon controller on the controller screen and it has none of the Ali Express issues, except that it lags slightly on some games and the handle grips are a bit firm.
I got the Xenoblade one and it all works. No problem with dpad and connected without the USB c cord. The only issue I have is the harsh rumble but that can be turned off.

My favorite switch controller is my 8bitdo 30 pro controller....I still use a pro controller but the 8bitdo is my go to controller...love it.

I bought one off Amazon and one off AliExpress. Bought both of the Splatoon versions as I missed out on those. I’ll still use my official pro controller all the time, but my kids will use the knock offs. Both of mine worked perfectly (except the obnoxious rumble you mentioned).
Mine works great - assuming most do looking at reviews. No amiibo and wake function however like you mentioned.

It's expensive and i cant charge it from the switch without a USB otg cable so no. And i have a xbox 360 controller that i can use while it's docked but i don't even have a switch yet but i will get the switch with the money saved from not buying the pro controller

I got the Splatoon clone off Amazon and it's about the same. It works well for what it is. D-pad feels mushy, no NFC support and doesn't wake system. I do like the slightly raised - + buttons.
That's cool and all, but I still really like my Power A Enhanced controller. The programmable buttons on the bottom are phenomenal for just about every game I play. It lets me constantly hold down shoot in Cuphead and gives me easy access for the whistle/infinite run glitch in BOTW. Plus, I guess if you got used to it, it would be good in Smash as a jump button so you don't have to move your thumb.

@@Ermac97 2 years old so who knows who reads these anymore but I've bought from Aliexpress electronic gadgets first being an old school r4 card for my DS still works. But going into more tech gadgets, my PS D3 still works, my new switch pro controller work with no issues just can't wake up my switch but I grew up in the era where if you wanted to change the channel you got up off you *** and changed it so that means nothing to me. Umm lets see bought tech office gag gifts, cup warmer plates, items for my ps Vita, some for my xbox. I could keep going but think you got the point. Either way this is a 2 year old video and most of the knockoffs work 1000 times better now than they did when this video was made. So yep I've had positive experiences with Aliexpress.
I got one and the thing is decent. Currently though the left stick has a slight drift and trouble charging. It’s alright.
I bought limited smash edition and i am fine with that controller.
These smash bros controllers are preety cheap, official and super comfortable.
The only thing is that they don't have home and screensot button.

You can use a pro controller to wake the switch. You have to hold down the home button.
a friend of mine bought a smash version of this, the left shoulder buttons were activating both at once every time so I opened it up amd cleaned the contacts (and ripped out the rumble motors while I was at it) and now it works fine. no dpad issues for me either, and a controller firmware update fixed the lights and wireless sync issues (even though it said the update failed).
The home button on the legit pro controller wakes up the system. You gotta hold it for a few seconds it'll vibrate to let you know the system is booting.
my experience with this knock-off pro controller (xenoblade edition)
1) mine came with a box
2) it came with a 1m usb c cable
3) gyroscope is fine in botw maze
4) d-pad works great
5) no NFC for amiibo
6) no Nintendo Switch logo

@@andrewanderson3016 How far you need to press depends on that specific game settings, dictated by the developer. Its not a controll issue that is a programming related issue. The dev choose the % of how far you need to press
have you never driven cars in any game that isnt mario kart? You can controll how fast you move by only pressing lightly or go fast by pressing all the way down.

Also the pro controller is basically an XBONE controll clone i own both, preffer the xbox elite controll. Rather Analog triggers

Im on my 2nd one of these! First of for the price, theyre good regardless. I had the Splatoon 2 version but after roughly 200hrs of play the left joystick broke, a common failure on the true pro controllers aswell. I then purchased another and its been updated! The vibration is HD, and the sticks etc are a lot better quality. I believe they are Pro controllers but they didnt pass QC as there are some body defects (Around home button bit edgy) Buy one while you can and clean it well!
