    Tried ordering online. a few days became weeks! Cancelled order. Learned that many online catalogs will say "Out of Stock," yet direct sales from local bike shops will have'em "In Stock." Oddly, the Scout 290 Elite(Yellow), arrived with Kenda Regolith 2.4 tires . perhaps due to me replacing the M1900 front wheel with a Duroc 35 pro, when ordered. Use-it for trails, commuting, and the typical long-haul weekend journey. Tube liners(I use tubes!), have been very beneficial. No flats in 35 straight days of riding. A rig not just for abusing Singletrack.

      @@charlesdu9941 I would ask what they are comparing it too? What wheels, tires and air pressure are they running. I worked for Trek rode every bike. Currently have 13 bikes and have owned over 50. For an aluminum HT it rides great. Of course you cane make any bike feel harsh depending on air pressure, handle bars, stem, wheels, seatpost ect....
      Is it going to feel like a high end carbon bike? Depends on what it was designed for but prob not. I also don't like muted feeling carbon bikes. It's not the material but how you engineer it for a large percentage.
      The frame cost me $350. I would put it up against any frame at that price and much higher.

    • @charlesdu9941
      @charlesdu9941 Před rokem +1

      @@garrettsmith8286 Yeah I get the sentiment for sure.
      It's super hard to find a good frame of reference for reviews! Big Al is just one example where I find plenty of contradicting info at there.
      Much like my current Scout, I'm looking for something more supple; some people say the Scout is already super comfortable whereas others argue it's harsh

      I would say it’s marginal and also depends on the type of riding you do. At Bike park wales the XL felt great and more stable at speed down the rough stuff. For normal trail riding the L is great. But there really isn’t much in it.

      Thanks for the reply, mate. From what I've seen online its pretty difficult to actually find a decent hardtail in stock at the moment. Seen a few i like, but near enough all of them are unavailable/sold out. The Nukeproof seems to be one of the few that is actually available and in stock. Im a bit dubious about the BB height on it, but to be fair its not that different from the other bike i was considering. The BB height on this bike is 308mm, and on the other bike i liked its 310mm.
