As a Physiotherapist, I can say with confidence that we all like to cause pain. The hippocratic path is do no harm. Not do not hurt😁. This is a great tool for self treatment (if/when it's the psoas causing the problems). Thanks for all the videos Mark!
Sport, deep tissue, rehab massage therapist her for 19 years. I have been called a sadist many times.
I tell my physio she should have been a dentist.
Finally got to try out my hydrocore yesterday. Much more load on the core when doing mills comparing to KBs or clubs. Will be getting back to it today. Thanks Mark!
Yeah, finally someone else is on board with me concerning self-help with their psoas. I have been a massage therapist for 19 years now, and the psoas work is the most difficult for clients to endure. The only thing, some people who need psoas release cannot have deep pressure in the areas due to IBS or diverticulitis (left side). The lower area will make you cry uncle, so teaching the client to breathe through the discomfort is key for sure. Great instructions and visuals Mark!!!
I had been seeing the ads for these and wasn't sure if they were a good piece of kit, so thank you for the review!
And thus we come back to... Hey Mark, can you please make a video (series?) on a good cooldown program. Not sure if it matters or not but, one good for KB's and clubs?
100%. Giving all of those low, medium, high positions some real time is key to powerful release and relief.
I just got this in the mail today. I am very excited to use that this looks like a great tutorial thank you! I have been hunting over and dealing with a tight psoas for so long I really didn’t think you could possibly do anything to help it but I am so looking forward to some relief
Just got mine today. So hoping it gets rid of the pain am in at the moment. Thanks for the upload.
Never ever have I come across this. Amazing, as I sit driving a bus all day this might come in handy. Thanks Mark.
Glad to help
Wow. I dislocated my knee nearly 20 years ago and still unconsciously put my weight down through my good leg most of the time. This may be beneficial for me and compliment my daily KB practice. Thank you!
Very helpful and informative. Thanks!
I used a peanut I got for my lower back last year turned on its end for this. To be honest though, using kettlebells in the manner you teach had really helped minimise any discomfort I get in lower back and psoas regions. My core strength is better due to kbs than anytime in the past 30 years since I was a 20 something.
Just got one (on sale). Worth every penny. Needed this years/decades ago
Will try this- my psoas problems developed after a long recovery from back surgery. The post-surgery physical therapy was only variation on ab work.
I spent 30 minutes on this tool. Alternating every 10 minutes.
Besides the immediate physical and mental clarity, I had very vivid dreams. (Hadn't had that in years.)
Perhaps the muscle tension store some memories or vise versa. Good tool. Got it for a discount.
I used to have a lot of low back pain from lifting. Tried for a while to go at it directly with a lacrosse ball not knowing it was my psoas the whole time. Got one of these things last year and it was LIFE CHANGING.
I got my Pro-Rite for $11 including shipping from AEX. Totally worth it. Hurts like a M073rfuk3r! But works wonders! I've had crippling back pain for years and this is loosening it up. It's the only thing that has ever helped.
Adjustable DIY version for about 5 Euro (if you have some dumbbell plates and some clamps). Go to a DIY store and buy a short wooden bar with the same diameter as a dumbbell bar (dumbbell bar is too wide, can’t get plates close enough together). In the middle of the bar put 1-3 dumbbell bar clamps (depending on the width you want the plates to be apart). Attach a dumbbell plates on each side and lock up with a clamp on each side. Because the width is adjustable, I think it’s more versatile.
thank you 💪🏽
Thanks Mark
Interesting, could you provide a link to this device with your information please? Thanks.
Is this something that will work for overweight people too? I have problems in those areas, but also have a gut, so I’m not sure how accessible the muscle will be 🤷🏻♂️
After a lifetime of injury I lean forward. Standing straight feels as though I’m falling backwards. My quads have shortened and my glutes don’t engage. I found the Pso-lite on CZcams and found a knock-off on Amazon that’s identical to my Physio’s Pso-lite. I paid $24.
Have you checked out Naboso insoles and mats Mark? Would be really interested in hearing your thoughts on them.
thanks for the info and introducing such a helpful tool. Question: I sometimes tend to hurt my lower back while doing heavy swings or releasing the double kb clean. Any tips to avoid it?
Squeeze the glutes!
Bought this when you first had them at the studio. Very affective
This does sound super good, but I am not even sure I own a psoas.
From the description it, or they, sound like standard issue.
Perhaps I should get more acquainted with... myself.
great reeview, just bought one from amazon.
Love mine, and love the Pso-Spine even more!
Yo Mark when's your shirt becoming available for purchase?
I wonder if the pso rite could not be dangerous to cause an inguinal hernia?
There now is a Chinese knock off sold at Amazon for $30. Still worth the extra $50 more to get the made in USA? Also there’s one that is adjustable for about $54 now.
The explanation of the massage therapist stabbing and grabbing the muscle gave me PTSD. Haven't had too much work on the psoas though. I have been seeing these tools around a lot, may have to look into it.
Out'fucking'standing Wildman !
I'm ordering said tool today ...

Which beach is that? Guessing crystal cove?
Just got one from Goodwill today for $2.09 best thrifting trip ever
What about having a large mid section, will it be as affective as using the horn of a kettlebell?
unclear. for larger people ive been elevating the pso-rite on a yoga block
Is this device ‘one size fits all’? Some advocate doing one side at a time to position in the optimum spot, but I would rather do it the way you demonstrate, if it doesn’t matter about the side to side positioning?
Well done great video. Well, spoken and good enthusiasm. !
One size can not fit all, use it on one side at a time for a smaller frame.
I had 3 Muay Thai fights in Thailand only starting to exercise doing so properly in my 40's. SO I would guess a very tight Psoas. What you talk about the massage therapist doing with their hands is exaclty what a lot of Thai trainers will do to you screaming Kaliman! It put me through the roof. You are right it sucked big time, but I felt great after. I just ordered a Pso-rite today. Thanks for the great review 🙏
Ive had no luck with any of there products. I later discovered in a Myofascial course that tennis balls are about as hard as you want to go. The nervous system simply won’t allow change with hard plastic jabbed into your body. 4/4 breathing is key also
Does this work for bigger people? Will it be able to landmark the areas through my added fluff lol?
Determined experimentally
Don't think I've seen MW that animated in a video before. Must love that thing.
literally the least non chalant he has ever been in a video probably
You’re making this Maui girl miss home.

Pso is it worth it or not?
I saw lots of reviews on it . I didn’t want to buy it. I trust you. I’ll buy it.
i bought 3 if that tells you how much i believe in it
@@MarkWildman am getting one right now. You are a life saver. I have been helping a lot of friends with bad back with the half kneeling exercises you have been teaching. Am your # fan. You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. Maximum respect ✊
I dont know but pressing and messing up with the intestines can be risky, maybe for some people this works, how can I know if it is relevant for me? Back pain can have many different causes. In order to reach the psoas you need to go through the abs, fat, intestines (appendix!, colon! if you go to far down or something), arteries, oh and the nerves that come out of the lumbar spinal cord to left and right down to legs etc. I just tried it today first time and it feels odd, did not get any release or anything but my gut now is quite sore. This is not for everybody and doing it on your own could be potentially unhealthy, better to go to professional.
3D printed one of these, because f their prices. I have never been confident as to where my psoas actually is though, so I mainly use it for other muscle groups. The glutes especially. My 3d printed one can split in two also which can be convenient.
Pso-right has 40% off sale for 4th of July 2021
I don't see a link. Do you have a link?
It's at pso-rite.com
Any thoughts on the pso-Neck?
i saw one at maui fit. it looks rad
To all those who like to be minimalist like myself, use the kettlebell handle. Either lay on it or lay on your back. Cost: ZERO
This is such simple advice that I can't tell if it's stupid or genius
@@georglehner407 I say that a lot when learning new techniques in jiujitsu, "That's so stupid it's genius."
supple leopard has a page on this
@@SwimmingBird13 I had to look up the supple leopard and didn't realize it was Kelly. I recently started watching a bunch of his content. Good stuff, thanks for the info.
@@georglehner407 that line is usually pretty blurry😂😂😂
Do people get this confused with the hip flexors?
yes
💥💎
gut smashing by laying on a rubber beach ball has brought disproportionate benefits. especially since starting bell training.
OK i am a runner and lift weights. I have been in pain for months due to low back pain. I heard of this.. spent 150 CAD. It came in this morning. I laid on it for 2 minutes. Got up, the RELEASE I EXPERIENCED WAS INSANE. back pain ALMOST GONE. Despite my bulging disc i could go to work without pain
Excellent. Try 2 min, then move it an inch and do 2 more min. See if that’s even better
@@MarkWildman i was only doing it in one place. SWEET. Thanks so much Mark, you rock. Will do 😊
Alyssa do you still have the same point of view? Did it fix your low back pain permanently?
@@moneybags183 i only use it about once a week now when needed. I havent been as active since id had chronic SI joint pain. Which i found this to actually help but not cure it. Ive had to do stabilizing exercises and lay off the running. But this is a god send if you run, hike or are overly active because it truly is a hard muscle to reach.
My psoas was so tight, I sprained my upper back on the opposite side
Kalima Kalima, I almost choked laughing. Indiana Jones and the weird cultist dude…
looks like you could do the same thing with a dumbell with 2 x 5lb plates on each side 🤷♂️
not a bad idea. that's just heavy and doesn't fit in my carry on
@@MarkWildman fair enough 🤣 but I don’t need to travel so might give it a go 👍
My cheap self had the same thought. Proof of concept with the dumbbell. Get the real thing if the POC works.
DVG has friends!
Or multiple accounts 😄 🤣
One size fits all?
BTW, do you have an opinion on PSO-Neck?
The best way to use this is with one of the points at a time. Lay flat over one point on one side and move the leg on that side back and forth. This also has the benefit of making this one size fits all. Check out Pso-Rite's IG for videos on this.
😅😅🤣🤣🤣😅😅
This is the best god damm review ever!!!
Losing weight. Good job! Walk the walk.
$150,000 for knee surgery? Damn.
Did I hear $150k to heal your knee?
20 pound ebay😊
Using two baseballs lol
Totally gonna make my own with 2x6s!

a single kettlebell does way better than this tool IMO. ive tried it but i go to the kettlebell almost every day

Barn, circus, engineer. what is this dude Forest Gump or something
It's definitely NOT worth the cost. These things should be sold at dollar stores, but you'll pay $85 to get it delivered to you. Whether or not you get great benefit from it, it's WAY overpriced.

Please, people, look up the difference between lie and lay. Lie is intransitive, lay is transitive. That said, thinking good thoughts for all of you with psoas issues. They suck!
