The funny thing is, it's not even unrealistic for Bubble Bass to be like this. Remember, his 1st appearance was him talking down to Spongebob for not putting Pickles in his Krabby Patty. So it's not even out of character for him to be like this

Bubble Bass fits this new role so perfectly and I love that the Nostalgia Critic himself commented on it. And the jokes are so well written. A real breath of fresh air for _The Patrick Star Show._

Tell you what? I actually like this design of Bubble Bass. Rather than going for his ugly attitude, Nickelodeon decided to go make him more modernized, which is honestly pretty good, I must say.

Yeah,since they have others "shows" like The inquirier of bikini bottom,Bikini Bottom Mysteries,The patrick show,Spongebob Reimagined and Pineapple Playhouse
Bubble Bass admittedly got completely underutilized for over a decade, so turning him into the comic book guy of the Spongebob Universe made plenty sense and is one change in modern Spongebob I can actually get behind.
The fact that they play him off as a stereotypical Discord mod makes it even better

i think he is a mix of geek n' gamer and the comic book guy from the simpsons, with a NC skin. The Nc usually goes loud like daffy duck GnG is just more low brow like the comic book guy
Technically he’s a parody of all critics not just Nostalgia Critic.
Bass’ internet critic persona seems to be a combination of different internet critics. The Nostalgia Critic’s outfit is the most obvious, but the basement setting seems to be taken from the AVGN, while the shelf full of merchandise is more akin to Linkara. There’s also a little bit of Mr. Enter’s nitpicky attitude accompanying shoddily edited footage and possibly Saberspark with the stylized emote cards.

This is so AWESOME, I'm glad Bubble Bass is still written as a prominent character both canonical and not canonical in both shows.
This might as well be one of the reasons why he's one of my favorite Spongebob characters: He's too relatable to anything and any setting you put him in, Like well this for example since we get something I'd never thought of myself saying "Bubble Bass Lore"

This episode also caused the Critic to reveal that the feud with the Angry Video Game Nerd is still going, 15 years after it started.

An actual Bubble Bass review episode is gold. It belongs in the hall of fame.
When I saw this my jaw literally dropped to the floor for two reasons
1. Someone on the SpongeBob/Patrick Show writing staff knew who the Nostalgia Critic was and knew of the drama he was in.
And
2. We are at the point where Doug Walker is so much of a joke that now mainstream kids shows are now making fun of him, it’s so insane if you went back in time to 2012 and told people that SpongeBob would parody the Nostalgia Critic they would’ve thought you belonged in the mental asylum.

I mean most people agree it seems more like it's mocking MrEnter and not so much NC, NC just has a very memorable outfit and is far more likely to take a joke on the chin and not have a gigantic hissyfit like Enter would.

This episode is amazing dude! Easily the best about the Patrick Star Show.
I might have to start actually watching this cartoon again. NC has been having a very hard time lately and I’m glad to know that he took this well. For those who don’t know he recently got a virus in his brain. I hope he feels better real soon. It’s nice to know that he has created a legacy! Thank you Bubble Bass for keeping the spirit alive!

It’s very tightly written. The pacing is wonderful and it’s actually what I wanted out of the patrick show when it first aired
Having the show be about patrick making his show instead of just more SpongeBob
I think my favorite aspect of the episode is that Patrick and squidina heard his criticism and decided to make a segment on their show making fun of him
The meta context behind that is hilarious
Also another cool detail is that bubble bass burns at the end of the episode which is a callback to earlier when he was critical of fire underwater in Patrick’s show
I also like how when bubble bass is pointing out patrick breaking the 120 degrees rule he breaks it himself back to back
THanks to this one episode, I would now love to see a show centering around Bubble Bass

There's a scene with Bubble Bass saying that everyone involved with The Patrick Show! should go to prison, the way he says the whole sentence feels like an Enter reference.
This is actually more a parody if Mr. Enter than it is Nostalgic Critic. Bubblebass complaining about things like inconsistencies and writers is right up Mr. Enter's league, but the Spongebob writers likely didn't want to parody him due to backlash.

I could see Bubblebass being into this stuff even back then.
What sells it for me are those cutouts he includes to show his current mood on the PowerPoint slides. Really feels authentic.

It’s a really good episode. And I wish it had its own spinoff show that reviews other Nickelodeon shows from giving good ratings and bad ratings, and the season finale would have bubble bass review the entire season of his own show.
