I don't think they were on a break because to be on a break, there needs to be an agreement from both sides. Rachel said 'maybe we just take a break' and ross walked out, therefore he never agreed to the break. He left the room which is how I look at it

Anyone else remember during the initial argument, Rachel said they were on a break and Ross said they were broken up? But after that, anytime it was brought up, Ross said they were on a break and Rachel denied it
In my opinion a break and a break up are two different things.
A break is when a couple needs time and space apart from each other. A break up is when a couple permanently separates (of course they can get back together). But it means they are no longer in a relationship, and sleeping or going out with anyone else is not considered cheating. Whereas if you did these things during a break it would be considered cheating as you were only taking time apart from your partner but have the intention to still be in a relationship.
Whether they were on a break or not, what Ross did was cheating.

Friends is the one show I’ll never get tired of watching. I just watched the Thanksgiving episodes over the weekend.

Yes I can confirm for the longest time I refused to watch the show because everybody liked it and I'd much rather watch shows nobody my age watched like Murder She Wrote or Ghost Whisperer but when quarantine came around I had nothing to do nothing to watch so I watched every episode of freinds over a few months and honestly I wish I'd done it sooner because it genuinely deserves all the praise it gets even if some of the jokes definitely didn't age well but still I love it so much
Actually all of us watching Friends and other TV shows are missing many amazing things in our lives... because the most exciting things in life are outdoors and not inside that box called "television".
People really have been dissing this show the past few years. I still love it tho 😂

True. I agree with Ross, they definitely WERE on a break, but I also understand Rachel's reaction. If you've supposedly just broken up, you should not be in the mood to sleep with another woman (or man). Ross and Rachel were just about to reconcile until Ross heard Mark's voice over the phone, so he misunderstood. As a result, he slept with Chloe for revenge.

There was a break, the break did happen. But Ross using "the break" as his reason to sleep with Chloe was him not taking responsibility for what he did. Which was extremely immature
To be fair to him, he heard mark over at the house and Rachel KNEW how he felt about mark. If the roles were reversed and he had some woman at his house that Rachel was jealous over she would’ve been pissed. Double standards...
Also I would argue Chloe took advantage of him, he was drunk and obviously vulnerable and she had a huge crush on him... men can be taken advantage of too🤷🏻♂️

That Salmon Skin Roll moment is one of my favorites. Perhaps Ross over-acted a bit in the scene but his expressions were simply unbelievable when doing the Unagi thing.

From the moment I heard the line “hi I’m chandler I make jokes when I’m uncomfortable” I started introducing myself to people like that. I also sometimes say “I’m not great at the advice thing but can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?” Friends made me who I am now, especially chandler ❤

He was sad, got real drunk, and then had a woman that he already thought was attractive all up on him. I dont think ross was in the wrong

Two of my best friende have never seen a single episode of Friends and I'm over here owning every season and currently working on my 14th viewing of every episode. It's just that show that has sooo much rewatchability and you can have it playing in the background and still know everything that's going on without having to actually watch it.

It doesn't matter what being on a break means, if you don't EXPLAIN THAT to your s/o, how can you expect them to understand your expectations? If they had taken the time to explain what they both wanted at the time, it never would have happened. If Rachel had even worded it differently, said she needed SPACE or some time to think things over instead of jumping to a break, the misunderstanding probably wouldn't have happened, but she failed to do that. I do think Ross sleeping with someone that night was a big mistake if he still had feelings for Rachel, but it definitely wasn't cheating and it's not nearly as big a deal as fans make it out to be. I would still be hurt if I was Rachel tho, but it's not entirely Ross's fault.
