What some people fail to note is that we beat #25 Iowa State on their home field, BUT I don't acknowledge their ranking because it's an in-state rivalry and you never know how that game is going to turn out. They turned around and beat #3 Oklahoma. We nearly beat #4 Penn State. In the last 15 seconds they traveled the length of the field and scored, making the final score 21-19. Ohio State was #6, but in the Big 10, rankings don't mean anything either, as proven on Saturday. We've been beaten by teams when we've been in the top 10 as well, and yes it stings. We've all been on both sides of it, and those losses are pretty painful for a few days, but we move on and get excited for the next game.
You can thank us by taking Nebraska back into your conference. Beating them has become a bore and I'm sure you wouldn't mind a cupcake team catfighting Octo-Matt Campbell every year.
I usually go to at least one Hawkeye game every year but in 2017 my cousin and I started a tradition of going together. This was our first one. I think about that day often. Great memories!
I have been one of the vocal critics of KF ever since he knelt down at OSU when Vandeburg had over a minute left to try to win (instead of OT). I thought that was a gutless move on the road at the shoe. However I havent seen play calling like this, at Iowa in my lifetime (im 40, ala Mike Gundy). That was a thing of beauty by Brian Ferentz (and staff). Maybe, just maybe this was the proof Kirk needed to fully take the leash off Brian and let him coach. Run when they think pass, pass when they think run. When you have them down 14 you THROW and you step on their throats in the endzone. Please let this be the type of play calling we see going forward. If it is this team will be a blast to watch (regardless of outcome).

At the end of the first quarter at all home games everyone turns around and looks up to that tall building behind the stadium which is the children's hospital and they wave to all the sick kids that's watching the ballgame from their hospital beds. Even visiting teams are doing it too, Ohio State did the other day which was very classy of them.
