I stripped a screw on my moto body...and then broke the extractor....what do I do now?

    Hahahah bro the same exact thing happened to me. On the right side I used a dremel to widen the torx tip and stepped up to a larger tip size. Took forever. On the left side the same thing happened and although it's not 100% stripped it is getting there. I don't understand why harley uses such soft metal bolts and torques them down so fucking hard. Like they're not expecting anyone to have to work on their bike ever.... if you're gonna set us up for failure just weld the fuckin things on

      its fucking hell dude. harley uses the softest shit. im working on a 70s honda and everything is totally seized but it will eventually comes off.

    I used Vise grips not some cheap ass vise grips either. To bite the fuck out of the extractor and turn that bolt out. I personally did it. Dont use the vise grips from walmart they are a piece of shit from experience. As far as extracting the bolt I took it to a shop and had it lasered out.

      I hear you. The vice grip I used to finally unscrew the screw are kobalt (I’m not a fan really of anything kobalt). My last resort was that arc disintegration option. Glad it worked out for you, thought. the process totally sucks. From now on I’m going to assume everything is corroded and PB/heat gun.
