He was referring to when he was growing up before he became a DJ. I get what he said because as a young boy up to when I was 9 years old in 1982, I was a casual music fan with the music mostly a background thing. My interest were morning and afternoon cartoons, action figures, drawing and sports.
Kasey has one of those one in a billion voices. Luckily he knew it and used it well.

I worked on that show for a short time... I think that is Linda Arkin. Married to Adam Arkin at the time, son of Alan.
