Pewdiepie literally recovered from T-series 2 times, that's how much his fans were trying to make him the most subscribed.
If they were his fans, they were already subscribed. The 40 million-ish people who did subscribe to him, only did it for the memes. Nothing to do with them actually liking his content. If it werent for that hype, based on projections, he would only have about 70 million subscribers today and not the 100 mill he has.

Which isn't something to hate about. I mean every youtuber can literally all do the same thing. But it takes a certain personality for people to enjoy more than others to get popular on youtube and that's what pewdiepie was the product of. I personally could care less about Pewdiepiew and is why I refuse to subscribe to him since I don't like his style of videos. But i didn't know he does meme reviews now so learn something new everyday.

I think it's incredible what Ryan Higa (nigahiga) has done. He started about a year after CZcams launched and has remained as one of the top channels for a decade and a half. That level of consistency is ridiculously hard to come by.

Its very saddening to think that someday even the biggest youtubers like pewdiepie and mrbeast will either stop creating content by themselves or decline in popularity like the old youtubers. It's unavoidable, even if they won't quit, old age will always be a thing and nothing can stop it. They won't be able to do things they usually do now and people will lose interest. And everyone is bound to die someday.
I felt really sad while watching this. There were literally tears in my eyes.
