- Hello everyone and welcome to episode 2 of my Hogwarts Tutorial! Today we start off the tutorial with the beginning of the Viaduct Entrance which is personally one of my favourite locations in Hogwarts! It has just come to my attention that the command for the fill is different between Java and Bedrock.
Cut sandstone on Java is just like I did in the video.
If you play on bedrock, use /fill ~ ~-1 ~ ~ ~-14 ~ sandstone 2
Which is the ID for cut sandstone

@@cohenplaystoday2314 yes that's bedrock so you'll need to use sandstone 2 instead of cut sandstone in your commands

At some point once you finish this build tutorial, could you do other places in the HP Universe. For example, Hogsmead, Diagon alley, the Weasley’s house, maybe Azkaban, and other places around the palace? Like the Lake, the quidditch pitch, the whomping willow, and Hagrid’s hut? (Those are just examples, btw)
So in my main map (the one I'm rebuilding in this tutorial) will consist of most major locations in the HP universe, I'm planning to build Hogsmeade, the Burrow, Diagon Alley and really as much as I can.
As for stuff in the Hogwarts grounds, I have already done those areas, the quidditch pitch was covered in episode 20-22 of my old series :)

Just wanted to say 'Thank You'. As all the other comments indicate, your generosity in putting together this series is very much appreciated, as is all the hard work you invested in it. I've done just about every large build I could think of or find on CZcams, I don't know why I never thought of Hogwarts before now. Minecraft and HP are perfect for each other, and I'm absolutely delighted with your interpretation of it so far. The scale is appropriately ginormous, the aesthetics fantastic, and your attention to detail is faultless. Awesome job, can't wait to finish it in its entirety!

Does this tutorial cover the inside too, if not, that's okay, I'm just curious!
I'll only be showing the important interior locations, common rooms, main class rooms, great hall, and some video game locations which I deem important etc. As for other areas it's for you guys to make up since there is no official floor guide and so if I show it, I'll just be showing how I've made up mine. And I like to inspire creativity and I like the idea of everyone making their own corridors and linking each area together in how _they_ feel it should be. Inspiring the use of imagination and creating multiple unique Hogwartses based on their _perception_ of what they believe it should be like. I'll be showing some corridor ideas and templates which can be used around the castle. I hope this will inspire and spark imagination for people to create their own unique Hogwarts story.

@@EmmyYuh So I know this is like, way late but I put a dark oak door in the middle line of the false door (I had to change the false door design a bit for this to work) but it works fine and looks nice

How many sandstone blocks can you think you used in these first few videos? Then how much overall? Do you have a materials list by chance?
Great job. It took me 10 hours to gather the materials for this. I went with stone bricks and black stone with the mixture of mossy stone and cracked bricks. Keep the videos coming.
i had to restart the floor plan 6 times but finally gave up after the 7th try. Good enough ig hope it does not ruin it. I'm so excited about the final product tho.

For 1.19 or higher you need to use sandstone ["sand_stone_type"="cut"] instead of cut_sandstone or sandstone 2

Thank you! Yes I did! It's the result of over a years worth of research and building, and rebuilding and rebuilding. The tutorial series (if you're not constantly waiting for each episode to come out ) should take a 2-3weeks I'd say. I know some people who've done 5 episodes a day
Planet Dragonod oh wow thanks for replying! And so soon at that! On a video posted months ago! Anyway, that is a surprisingly short amount of time! I’m a really big Harry Potter fan and a bit of a Minecraft fan and so this is really amazing! I’ve also tried multiple times to build a giant LEGO hogwarts and I’ve never finished, also I’m working on one right now actually and I’m making a series about it on my channel (I’m only on episode 1) but still, I really want to try to make this, so I really appreciate how in depth you’re going with the tutorials!

I’m just starting this amazing builds with my friends and we’re planning to make a square out in the sea. In survival, what are the dimensions for a square that fits the whole build?
I recommend you look at the schematic from episode 1! All dimensions are countable there. It's in the comments/description

I couldn't understand how to use this coding but found another one simpler to use. Probably more to do with my brain being the equivalent of a decoder machine. Using the wooden axe left click on the first block and then go to the other end and right click on that. Type //set [block name] and then hit enter. If it doesn't work //undo and enter. Need the world edit plugin before you use it.
The reason I'm not using world edit on this tutorial is because players on bedrock do not have it and will be unable to follow

I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't do the forbidden forest in your tutorials, but how would you? Is there a way to place trees or do we have to place them block by block?
Well you can use Minecrafts default trees and it looks okay. Or yes you will have to build them by hand or use some external programs.

If you're on the latest edition of Bedrock edition, then yes you can do it using the fill command, just type what I type except use _sandstone 2_ rather than _cut_sandstone_
