    LOVE the futuristic interior on this Lexus. It's interior design is like nothing else on the market your never gonna sit in a Lexus and be reminded of another car.
    This is honestly my fav sport sedan in its class. I just wish Lexus made the high performance F model for this generation like they did with the previous V8 ISF.

      @bigden 2755 What? How is it a 10 year old design? 3G Lexus IS released in 2014, its 2018 today. Its a 4 year old design and it still looks modern - especially w/ the updated 10.3 inch screen. Its still the biggest screen within its class. A4, 3 Series, C300, TLX, and Q50 all have smaller navigation screens.
      Do yourself a favor - go sit in all of the Lexus competition. Then speak. The Lexus IS and MB C300 interior are the two best in its class. The others in the competition aren't as good - in terms of modernism, functionality, and design.
      If you are gonna Lexus hate, hate with facts - not ignorance.

    About to buy a used 2018 IS300 F-Sport. I wasn’t even considering this car until a salesman asked if I had any interest and I thought why not. It was the last car I test drove, I fell in love with it immediately and stopped looking at the bmw, and couple Audi’s I thought I was set on.
    Put money down to reserve it as I research other listings and the car in general but I’m pretty sold on it and can’t wait to really drive with it.

  • @DeeRenaissance
    @DeeRenaissance Před 6 lety +18

    Such a balanced enjoyable car- drives like a dream.... test drove it against bmw 330i and audi a4. No other compact RWD turbo luxury sedan with a sporty edge like this beauty! And I can still easily get 27-33mpg with the 2.0 turbo ! Interior is so clean and modern. Infotainment is fine. I can easily play music or navigation from my phone or xm radio. Thats all i need.

    • @user-pu9pz6ff9l
      @user-pu9pz6ff9l Před 6 lety +6

      Good point. +1. The Lexus IS is the best handling car within its class. If you test drive it against the competition, it handles the best. But haters gonna hate. People still knock on it for no reason. I have heard people called the Lexus IS a fat boat.

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 Před 6 lety +1

      Those are the same cars I cross-shopped it with, and yes the IS felt the smoothest and most solid overall. Partly due to the V6 of course, but the suspension is a good balance of firm yet comfortable for dailying.

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 Před 6 lety +2

      I have a 300 AWD, so I got the _detuned_ V6. Honestly coming from a Camry 4-cyl I find the power very much adequate. :D 6.1 seconds to 60 is actually pretty respectable in the segment anyway.

    • @user-pu9pz6ff9l
      @user-pu9pz6ff9l Před 6 lety +4

      ARentz07 6.1 seconds to 60 is *definitely respectable.* The entry-level trims tend do 6-8 seconds while the higher model trims tend to do 5-6 seconds.
      Its just rather annoying when you have those people that knock on the Lexus for not doing a 0-60 in the low 5s or high 4s. Its like they expect the car to run STi numbers while retaining Lexus comfort. Lexus was never the one to produce insane accelerating cars - they produce luxurious, quiet, comfort and reliable cars.

    Great cars! I owned a gray on red 2017 IS200t F-Sport for a year & nine months. Bought it used in September 2018 for a great price $27,500 with 15k miles & was a big improvement from my previous 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6. I originally wanted the 350, but the turbo was powerful enough. I replaced it in June 2020 with a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport which is a better car overall with a lot more luxury with a smoother ride & even better handling. I do miss my IS in some ways but had to replace it mainly cause I wanted/needed to go back to a bigger car with more space.

      From what I’ve seen while searching it’s a great price but not too suspiciously good (but I’m also uninformed on overall prices and used Lexus specific prices other than what I’ve currently seen trying to find one to buy). It’s a very recent listing and the salesman was not being pushy at all which made me think he had no worries on finding a buyer. I put money down to reserve it while I research a little more for anything that may change my mind but I’m pretty set on it

    An ex gf of mine had one of these, but it was a 2016 model that was called "IS 200T"..much more fitting name considering the 2.0t engine. Having said that, these are very nice cars if you appreciate them for what they are. People buying them for the extra gas mileage probably won't do any better than the IS 350 around town (we got about 19mpg or so) but the 32mph highway is doable if you simply use the cruise control and don't do a lot of passing. These cars handle quite well but they aren't for the fast and furious import tuner crowd...there is a lot of weight to overcome for the smallish 4cyl turbo. It is a very comfortable road tripper (if you don't mind the cockpit style for both driver and passenger) that doesn't fall on it's face when you hit a twisty back road...but it's not a sports car or a super plush luxury car. I'd say it's somewhere between, and that's perfect for the right buyer. With all that said, just pay a little more for the IS 350 instead. The gas mileage will likely be the same in real world driving and it will be a better experience when you put your foot down. (IS 200t/IS 300 red isn't bad, just not the power you expect for such a car)

    Also, do you think that your simplified headlights are due to US regulations? Because we (rest of the world) get the 3 leds in place of your central large projector style headlight and the LED fly's eye like turn signals. Only the base model has the same headlights as yours. Lexus tends to get a lot of hate from people - especially since they fight a up-hill battle against the Germans. So a lot of "fan-boys" like to spread negative and false info on the Lexus. IE: If you look at the comments, a lot of them rally against the interior for being "outdated". However - the Lexus IS interior is one the most modern within the competition along side the MB C300 and BMW 3 Series. My point is - check out ClubLexus forums if you want a more clear picture of a Lexus vehicle before purchasing. Read what owners are saying - not people who don't own it.
      And yup. The IS don't have a sunglasses holder. Its strange. The GS don't either. There are DIY on ClubLexus to install an aftermarket one if you feel the need to own one.

    • @thtupid
      @thtupid Před 6 lety

      Bippu Lexus yeah I really like Lexus interiors. But one thing that is lacking...other than the sunglasses holders...is the lack of mood lighting that even Volkswagen have now. But then again, it's a matter of a nice interior to look at during the day or at night kind of thing. The IS I test drove was just absolutely awesome. I love the size and clarity of the screen and, unlike most reviewers who spend at most a week or so with the car, I'm sure I will get use to the infotainment system. What's more important is the way it makes me feel. And for me, that feeling is special. And the exterior! The car is almost 5 years old now. But it still looks modern and like it came out just this year. It sure hasn't aged at all. Imho anyway.
      But yeah lack of sunglasses holder...hehe. inconvenient. But it's not stopping me from getting one.

No one will pay $800 for Apple/Android play to replace the standard iDrive of BMW's. Luxury cars offer them for people who don't buy the cars loaded. Apple/Android play is useless. Only good feature is Google Maps and that's Android only.
      EDIT: The Lexus IS does have Full LED with LED turn signals. Only the US-Spec don't have LED turn signals because of regulations. Toyota didn't want to make an extra set for the US market. Secondly - you are gonna pass on a car because of a light bulb? Majority of the LED turn signals on the market are from 1-3 bulbs or using a relay to make the brake lights a turn signal. Its not an expensive set up, its cheap. You can buy LED bulbs yourself and do the relay yourself too.

When I tried to reverse my ban, by saying there is a clear bias in the way you are enforcing the political beliefs here. I told him - a conservative poster told someone else that if you let illegals come in then you should get hit by a car. (Which is 100% worst than what I said. Calling someone heartless is not as bad as wishing someone harm) Once I told him that - he increased by ban and never banned the other guy.

Sure the engine bays aren’t pretty to look at and especially these days but the IS has so any options in terms of engine size, amount of gears in the transmission, and even the LSD RWD or perhaps AWD models for different preference types. These options make a tremendous difference in the ride quality. Technical specs are good to understand and people that are in the market should know about that before knowing how plush the dash materials are. Stick shifts are boring and slower than automatics, let them die.

      Why do you need that extra 0.x seconds to 60? Unless you were drag racing , manuals are the more engaging, technical option while often maintaining lower retail price and maintenance costs, and they allow you to hone and modify your driving skills as you go.
      I understand that there's a market for automatics, and that some people prefer them, but I don't think its fair or reasonable to say manuals are "boring and slower" and I CERTAINLY don't wanna see them die.

    Bruhhh! This cars interior is boring for a luxury car. My Camry XSE fully loaded looks much nicer. That car gets compliments left and right

      Still Braz-E That's an opinion - not facts. The Camry XSE (2018) loaded doesn't not have a nicer interior than the Lexus. The 18 XSE uses 10x more plastic, smaller screen size, fake gloss material that peels over time, tinner lining on the roofs and panels, and etc.... This is not even scratching the surface yet of the quality of built and the knobs both car uses.
      Secondly - boring? No. The Lexus Interior is 10x more refined than anything on a Toyota. You really think Toyota will make their Camry nicer than their Lexus cars? I'm sorry but its business. A Toyota will never have a nicer interior than a Lexus. Drive a Lexus and you'll notice the difference.
      The Camry XSE is a good car, much better than the older Camry XSE. But don't go around saying the Camry XSE has a more luxurious and nicer interior than a Lexus. That makes you look bias and don't rely on facts.

      Forrest Auto Reviews Good short write up of the XSE Camry. Similar experience when I drove it. Its a hands down a good A to B car. However, it pretty much still drives like any other Camry. The 2018 XSE Camry is the best Camry out there but it tries really hard to be sporty and it fails at it. The 18 XSE Camry don't offer a good driving experience due to its FWD set up. I personally think the 18 XSE Camry is a bit rice with fake quad-exhaust too. Other than that - its a pretty good A to B economy full size car.

      HELL NO. what is wrong with you.. a mazda 6 is better then a maybe a sonata sedan but its not on this level. This is a RWD sport sedan. The mazda 6 is regular FWD family sedan
