    Half of the battle is making room for plenty of thinking time. Something y'all are very skilled at doing. Think it through and then again... and then again before the cut. I enjoy everything y'all do. Thank you for bringing us along EIS Family!!!!

    That looks like it’s gonna be perfect and that is a good spot for the camera so we can watch the fish get hauled in which is very exciting to watch ❤❤❤stay safe my friends

      For sure, John! Going through some footage now, it looks promising! We'll keep on working on the angles, trying new stuff. Definitely easier to get the outside angle on mid-ships, tons of mounting points compared to the stern.

    Matt, I can't tell you how much I enjoy your project updates on the Fishtale and soon the rigging and fishing sea trials of your larger fisher. What is your dad's first name...don't think I've ever heard it mentioned. Simply a great channel!!!!

      Matt, I am a retired Naval Officer that flew the P-3C (U) Orion (hunting submarines) in the late 70s and early 80s. After retirement, I had 2 mini careers in publishing and in management/ leadership in defense contracting. In all my years of practical experience, you and your dad are among the brightest and most capable people I've ever come to know (via the magic medium of CZcams). Your combined skills (in so many areas and facets of commercial fishing, marine engineering, carpentry and construction and entrepreneurship) are mind blowing and are a joy to witness. Of the hundreds of CZcams channels I follow, EIS Alaska is my favorite!!! I very much appreciate your recent discussion with Len regarding perhaps mounting a camera on the "A frame" davit boom to give followers a new angle or perspective to enjoy future fishing content...that shows your constant inventiveness and desire to improve your channel's viewership. Keep up the good work!!!

    If I am not mistaken previous video showed your work in building up a metal wall on the side of the boat but I don't see it in this video. I could be wrong. Is halibut fishing season coming up soon? I salute both of you for being more than just fishermen but also Engineers. Thank you for the education.

      You're right! This is on our other boat, the Fish Tale, which is our first boat. She's parked right next to the Emerald Isle which is the big project boat we've been working on for awhile.
      The quota we'll be fishing is "D class" halibut IFQs which is only harvestable by vessels

    Len, the only problem I have with head and body mount cameras is they are always in motion and could make the viewers a little dizzy with all that movement.

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  Před měsícem

      We feel the same way! We already know our heads move around way to much to be a good viewing experience, constantly on a swivel.
      The chest mount might be ok, but I'm fairly certain the lens would constantly get dirty with how much leaders and fish we shake off over the course of a set.

      I'm a retired engineering instructor and I have been fascinated by the way farmers and people who fish for a living re-engineer equipment to meet their wants and needs. I'm actually glad that you don't chop up your videos to compress the stages of the modifications that you are working on. I'm sure some people think it can be boring. Too bad for them. Stay safe and well. I'll see you on your next video.😊
