  • Who doesn’t love a free ride? PRESTO makes it easy to get a co-fare discount between GO and other local transit agencies across the region.
Check out our step-by-step video guide of how you can save on your local transit when you connect to or from a GO train or bus.
Learn more about PRESTO co-fare discounts here:
    www.prestocard.ca/en/about/co...
    .
    Here’s how it works
When you travel on local transit and then GO Transit,
    1. Tap on your local transit vehicle with PRESTO. FYI - you’ll see the full fare on the PRESTO reader.
    2. When you tap on at a GO station or on a GO bus, you’ll see the discounted amount on the PRESTO reader. Remember, you have 2 hours from when you tap on your local transit vehicle to get the discounted fare on GO Transit.
Now, let’s look at a trip that starts on GO Transit with a card that doesn’t have a Default Trip.
    1. When you travel on GO Transit and then local transit. Tap on at a GO station or on a GO bus. Again, you’ll see your usual GO fare on the screen.
    2. Tap off when you leave the GO train or bus if you don’t have a default trip.
    3. Then, tap on your local transit vehicle.
And just like that, you’ll see you got a free ride! You have 3 hours from when you first tap on GO to get your FREE ride on local transit.
Be sure to tap off every time you get off the GO train or GO bus, unless you have a Default Trip, otherwise you’ll be charged for the whole ride until the end of the line and won’t receive the co-fare discount.
Some local transit network monthly pass users aren’t eligible to receive the co-fare discount. When you connect between local transit and GO, you save with PRESTO.
