Today I go over my long term review with the Scuf Envision Pro after using it for well over 100 hours of game time. Thank you for watching and don't forget to sub now!
This is the best controller out. iCUE software holds it back big time. Random disconnects, mapping not working, and back buttons randomly not working during game
I think icue software has conflicts with other peripherals it would make other things bug out as well as disconnect from its Dongle, it's a shame cause it felt great. I went with dualsense edge ps5 and works perfect for pc aswell
Do the bottom paddles last as long as the face buttons? I've found the bottom buttons/paddles on other similar controllers to be a weak spot, they don't design them to last.
@@DBZ-OG4Don't like the edge eh? damn that's disappointing, I was liking the idea of gyro's and removable paddles even though I re-solder and replace the potentiometers on my elite 2 and keep it going that way, but they use high temp solder so you gotta have good soldering/de-soldering setup or it's tough. I'm always on the lookout for a better controller to switch to though. Low input latency. Gyro's. Extra buttons. Durable bottom buttons. Hall effect sticks. Holding out for a controller that has at least 4 of these I think.
@@nsoutlawball1941 yeah the dualsense edge looks great on paper- but it’s the heaviest out of all of them, and on the one I have the magnetic connection that holds the paddles in place came loose/ the metal warped within a month of having the controller. I mean If your a wizard with the soldering iron I’m sure that’s something you could rig in a way that’d fix the sockets that hold the paddles- but yeah the responsiveness/ latency of the paddles was awful after 4 weeks. I can’t tell you how much time I spent cleaning the magnetic connections where the paddles go with rubbing alcohol . I was constantly having to use paper clips to re adjust the socket just so my paddles wouldn’t get stuck when I was in game. Comes with Way more problems and headache than the problems the controller actually solves with the convenience of the replaceable thumb stick modules. I mean in all honestly if you play on pc- ds4 windows is the ultimate latency eliminator(1ms or less) for controllers if thats what you ultimately want(latency is the biggest concern i have when playing) But sadly in nowadays in games like cod you’ll most likely get shadowbanned for using it because you can do so much with the software beyond just tweaking the latency. But yeah hall effect joystick, 1-2 ms latency even after using the controller for 6 months, and mouse clicky paddles, buttons, triggers- everything. That fr needs to be the new standard for “pro” controllers. With a price point of 130-175$( or less). Plastic is getting too expensive these days lol. For 250$ my gameplay should automatically go to scump level and I better be able to watch Netflix on the dpad at the same time lmao.
You don’t have some kind of issues with the software? I’m hearing a lot of yapping from the community and as someone looking to buy a new controller I’m getting kinda scared
I’ve had minor issues but none that have broken the usability of the controller. I mainly use the software if I’m remapping the buttons so don’t use it often so this could be why
No you can have it closed out. Sometimes I’ll notice my back buttons will revert back to the unmapped ones but when that happens I just open the program and close it out again.
@@sergi_j damn! Other people make it look like you had to re-map everything manually every once in a while, thank you for the insights!! I’m looking forward to have this controller tbh, and just to appreciate the fact you took the time to reply imma follow you in my second account to make it up to you
I loved the controller though the right bumper broke within a month. I had it all customized from their site. Just can't spend that much on something that doesn't last a month. Seen a lot of negative reviews and people having the back buttons breaking. I really wanted it to be my daily just can't. Ordered the Flydigi Apex 4 a few days ago, hoping on it.
@@sergi_j hope you're luck continues well. I enjoyed the sax and g keys. I just wanted hall as well. Though I was quite happy till it broke. Thankfully the return process was simple. The magnetic faceplate would shift a bit at times which was a slight annoyance but 🤷
@@redii2klutchfirst scuf i got was kinda ass, had stick drift fast and paddles would stick n shit. Second one i got was perfect for years of playing cod hard 🤷♂️ 50/50 chance i guess
@@sergi_j same honestly I have the PS5 and Xbox equivalent of this controller and I just ordered this controller yesterday and I'm totally excited for it
For pc exclusively this controller is much better. First if you don’t have a PlayStation you can’t really map the buttons around on the dualsense edge. Some launchers don’t even recognize the edge as a controller so it doesn’t work. The only ones I got it to work with were steam and battle.net but this could’ve changed over the months but I no longer have the controller to test unfortunately. The envision pro comes with a standalone program to map buttons and works with all launchers. Some people have had issues with the program but I can honestly say I haven’t had any so not sure on that. Great controller overall
I have had a few instinct pros and one envision pro….i hate how cheap the instinct pros feel AFTER using the envision. The clicks on all the buttons feel premium. Even tho icue crashed…I ordered another envision pro for 140 after taxes on a Best Buy drop today!
They’re great controllers! I know it seems like this is either hit or miss for a lot of people but I can honestly say I have had no issues with mine and I have 2
@@sergi_j all types. Because I am a FPS'er. I enjoy those games. but I also like games like Fortnite and such. As well games like Skyrim (RPG's) for fun.
So with the PlayStation layout I’d probably suggest the standard scuf reflex but unfortunately that doesn’t have the mouse click triggers. If you have a ps5 to map the buttons you can always go with the PlayStation Dualsense Edge also
@@sergi_j I don't have a ps5 unfortunately. And I do like the mouse click triggers. It's just with this one, I like it a lot. I guess software isn't an issue since I use Razer Synapse. My Razer Wolverine Ult. Ed. is starting to break and get sticky buttons. So I would like to find something good.
@KhyrisEidan well I can definitely tell you this is probably the best controller I’ve used due to customization and value. The learning curve with PlayStation buttons is pretty quick
@@sergi_j That would sway me to buy one if they did come out with a normal d-pad option. I like everything else about the controller, like having the PS stick layout but Xbox face buttons for PC.
I agree the software is horrible my saved profiles decides to turn off when I turn on my pc without iCUE being ran in the background and I have profiles for warzone and I have to tab out and launch iCUE to get my saved profiles back which is a hassle and tedious also switching wired to wireless I have to reboot my pc sometimes which is also another hassle tedious to deal with
This it's the worst software controller I ever used. Even I reset my pc to factory for this controller get working again. If I could return to best buy I would. I don't recommend to anyone.
I’ve heard of people having issues with the software on this but I can honestly say I haven’t had any issues. Hopefully scuf releases an update to the software to address any issues people have
@@sergi_j yes bro I get but you should acknowledge it on your videos because the majority of the people who had this controller are having wild issues.
How can you create a long term review of this controller and not talk in depth about the absolute dumpster fire the software is. Riddled with bugs, unreliable resets mid game, it’s awful. You must REALLY want some free scuf review units.
@praxsee I got it at best buy. Returned it and got another that I've had for about 4 days and I'm thinking about returning it. It has weird issues where it will randomly fire, the back paddles are not super easy to hit, the top side buttons were a cool idea but I don't think they're practical and are easy to hit accidentally, the software still sucks. The sad thing is it has a ton of potential but you're paying for the name and poor execution. I have an X box Elite Series 2 controller that's more comfortable to hold with no issues and I'm thinking about getting the Aim PS5 instead of this scuff.
