I think it's highly likely that Wendi intentionally made Jeffrey wildly jealous in order to make him a suspect. She knew he'd never hurt Dan. Just wanted to make it look that way.

I know Wendi planned to get away with all this and make Jeffrey the main suspect, but she really made a poor choice by attempting to frame a doctorate-level social worker who specializes in psychiatric disorders and who is well-versed in psychology and deviant behavior.
They should have made this public knowledge in 2014 & 2015. Why wait for trials to begin ... *to warn the public* how diabolical and enmeshed this educated family was.
I'll never understand how investigations go in the wrong direction ... so quickly ... and stay there.

I usually enjoy commentary, but think this would have been better if she had not interrupted at key points when I was hanging on Jeff’s words and she’d interrupt him mid-sentence. Also, it didn’t seem like she had done her homework beforehand. She was not very prepared.

Wendy's excuse for changing the surnames of Dan Markel's children has a couple of flaws. One is that what "attention" could the children be getting about the case, since they were in Miami and it was a Tallahassee case? It wasn't "big news" in Miami until years later. Another flaw is that she also changed the middle name of one of the boys, which happened to be the name of a close relative of Dan's. She was trying to erase him, and you can bet Donna was behind that.
Nah. She did not need Donna to encpurage it. Wendi knew who to run to to ensure her wants were handed to her on a silver platter. Wendi knew who to rile up to ensure she could leave the state. Wendi wanted. Wendi got.
Wendi was even telling the ex boyfriend that Dan was abusive etc. What do you think she told the family? Many females, even those with no money, do this.
I personally believe she thought Jeff would do it for her and when he did not she broke up with him after having strung him along long enough to maybe throw him under the bus for the murder. She was just more intelligent to ensure everyone else, incuding her family, took the fall. And each of her family will fall on the sword for her. Her brother should wake up and get a new attorney just to make a deal. Charlie needs to do what she has done the whole time, throw her under the bus.
You got it. A cover up of the true hatred she had for the ex she was involved in murdering. the conspiracy was designed to cover her involvement due to her being the prime suspect. The state absolutely know this but whether they have enough evidence to indict her is another story.
The middle name change was a direct shot, no pun intended, at Dan and the entire Markel family. Changing a middle name in no way protected that child from anything.

I chomp at the bit with the opinion she had her ex murdered. She wanted full control of the children and would do anything to get it.
Even the name changes after his death was to show his parents her control over them. It was also the next step, after ensuring their father was killed and they would start forgetting him as they got older, in the parental alienation. Even though it is with the grandparents.
People keep wondering about the boys. Unfortunately children who have been alienated from another parent or other family members tend to struggle to believe that their mother (and rare occasions fathers) was involved. Look at cases where the children were toddlers when a parent was murder by another parent or the killing was arranged by the other parent. The harm has already been done to them.
Maybe as adults they will realise, but I do not hold out hope. Maybe with therapy it could happen but I also doubt it. The formative period has occured. A hateful mother and grandmother taking away their father, their names and their paternal granparents.....

She has thrown her entire family under the bus from the start whilst she has whatsapp messages that are missing and cannot be retrieved. I am really hoping that some evidence can be found. So she is innocent until proven guilty. Just my opinion is different lol!

So Wendi is soooooo….. worried and cancels a trip with Jeff because she’s got to make sure she’s there to pick up the kids that Friday, the day of Dan’s murder, but that day she tries to go down Dan’s street, sees cop cars everywhere in front of the house, knowing her kids are staying at that house, but makes no phone calls, doesn’t get out of her car to talk to a police officer to make sure nothing happened or her kids are ok. Remember she just assumes her kids are at daycare, how does she know for sure, any mother would be frantic seeing a sea of cop cars at a house there kids were staying.

Told Jeff about the hitman because she wanted to see if he could join their little psychotic clan and get excited about this notion- when he didn’t jump on board, she decided instead to use him as alibi or to frame him.
I bet there is a long line of women who have mad crushes on Jeffrey. I certainly do, but I'm married so it's more of an admiration than a crush. If he hasn't found "the one" yet, it certainly won't be long.

FYI: Nancy Grace; The clip that Wendy said Nancy Grace show the face of her kids. Was not on Nancy's show or did it have anything to do with Nancy. She was on another program talking about this case and that program showed the children's face. Nancy just happened to be talking while this happened. Nancy has brought this up several times when talking about this case when that issue comes up in court when Wendy makes comment.

You’re a fast study but as you get deeper into this case your head will spin. You will get a good laugh when you see the most recent court appearance of the mother, Donna. Professor Dan was some kind of guy to admire. That’s what makes things so sad.

I would love to see an interview of Wendy after she's had a couple of drinks. As much as I have followed this this is the first time I've heard that key element which now starts bringing a lot of this in the focus and making it make more sense. A normal person does not drink their dinner multiple days in a row or on a regular basis.
Harvey party July 5th and Wendi and boys in Miami for week for Wendi to clean out her childhood bedroom…in preparation for she and then boys to move in!!

Wendi didn't love Jeff at all, here is why, first, Wendi n Jeff went n visited her parents n brother in Miami in March, Jeff played some father figure role to her kids ( playing n spending time with them , attending their activities, plus Jeff was in love, easy to manipulate in all her web of lies n deceit skyping when they were away etc, yet Wendi was not interested in meeting Jeff's parents in California hence she made an excuse of "I have to be here to pick the boys on the 18th, what if the plane delayed etc whereas the trip was btwn 11-17 July, she knew something is going on that day, plus Dan was leaving to New York to see his girlfriend, plus attending conference there, he was a decoy, pawn, fall guy, plus saw Wendi in a coffee shop with another guy, this woman is all about hers, play the victim role well, complaining about Dan n Tallahassee, so you can see, her intention was to leave by any means necessary to Miami , it's glaring, she's involved in plot for murder

What was Wendi trying to pin on Jeff, by way of motive? A useless fool, the boyfriend who lost his head over his ❤for Wendi (He later said that he was in love with what he thought Wendi WAS). His obsessive love for her threw him into an act of rage & to prove his love to her: murdered Dan so that Wendi’s life would be easy and so that they could be together without interference from Dan. Interesting - It was stated that THE DAY BEFORE, Wendi went to the friend who accused Jeff to the police and spent time talking to her about her “concerns” over Jeff’s obsession, jealousy, how he made her afraid, etc ad nauseum. She is such a strategic planner that she set this friend up the day before the murder so the friend would have concerns about her and for her safety. Then, the next day Dan was murdered, and the friend came in to comfort Wendi, AND TO ACCUSE JEFF AS A SUSPECT to the cops.
Well planned to commit a murder, and walk free without any suspicious.
I like watching the interrogations or interviews or court proceedings with comments interjected. Makes it so much more interesting and thought provoking.
It disturbs me a little with how the detective seems to be having a really hard time keeping up with the story. He reminds me of the way my dad listens. He only pays enough attention to catch key words or phrases, then has to have it all retold to him.
And i get it, you don't get to just tell the cops something once. They're going to make you tell it and retell it. And then some more. But goddamn, at least keep up. Don't act you're barely listening.

Detective Isom screwed all of this up IMO. He never pressed Wendi about many of her statements in her one and only interview and dismissed Jeff as a scorned lover for a while. Jeff had his finger on the pulse of this crime family and Isom missed it initially.

So Jeff through Wendi knew that Dan was killed by hitmen. Not anyone else but paid hitmen by Charlie. The investigators had no idea if this is true. The most Wendi told them was that her brother made “this joke hiring hitman” but as it turns out it was not a joke. The hitmen were related to Charlie’s girlfriend. So Wendi knew the plan and knew the date she had to be in Tallahassee. I mean and Wendi is not arrested? How pathetic is that? Is there some politician interfering with law enforcement to protect her?

The investigators didn’t do a good job. They didn’t interview her friends or other ex boyfriends.

So you know that Wendi said that she drove by Dan’s house because she was trying to get to a liquor store, that she didn’t know he had been shot, there’s a video on YT with a woman and her friend that know the route Wendi was trying to take that day as opposed to the route she could have taken, Wendi said that she tried to go down Dan’s street because she didn’t know the other route but the women showed that Wendi was going quite a long way round to go down Dan’s road. Wendi really does look like she’s telling lies

Wendy was setting Jeff up. She knew when he was leaving for TN and he might be caught on cameras driving in the area on his way. She didn't know he left the previous day. I think she would have said Jeff killed Dan in a misplaced favor to make her life easier. She wouldn't have told anybody they broke up, or would have said Jeff did this to win her back. I don't think she's as air-headed as she pretends, but I think she has no backbone for the details!

The March meeting with TPD was not an interrogation. Jeff Lacasse was cleared early on in the investigation.
Wendi complained to everybody about Dan. Jeff or somebody was going to take him out and/or anybody but her was going down for the "TV".
