Number 1 - the jab. Canelo uses powerful jabs to push back opponents or manipulate their guard to create openings for his combinations. To keep opponents unsure, he conceals his jab using a high guard defense and feints with his lead hand, often catching them off guard. He also uses the jab to set up his powerful right hand. You should too.
Number 2 - combination punching. His combinations are designed to break down opponents' defense and find gaps, especially when they are in a stationary position or have a tight guard. He seamlessly flows from one punch to another, minimizing his exposure to counterattacks. One of his favorite combinations involves doubling or tripling his lead hand, such as hooking to the head and immediately following with a hook to the body.
Number 3 - Feinting. He uses feints to set up his punches and measure his opponents' reactions. By changing the level of his lead hand and using foot feints, Canelo creates uncertainty and openings for his attacks. His elaborate right-hand feint sets up power left hooks or uppercuts, leaving opponents hesitant and vulnerable to his punches. Make sure to include feints into your boxing.
Number 4 - counterpunching. Canelo slips jabs and counters with powerful right hands, often catching opponents off guard. Another counter he employs is the pull counter. Canelo's defensive moves after each counter ensure that he stays one step ahead of his opponents.
Number 5 - footwork and use of pressure. He possesses a strong base and balance in his footwork and applies pressure on his opponents by slowly walking them down with small steps, a tight high guard, and moving his upper body over his front foot. This gives the illusion of being within punching range and allows Canelo to strike when an opening presents itself. His high guard defense makes it difficult to stop his relentless pressure.
And number 6 - ring IQ. Like the greatest chess players, Canelo thinks several steps ahead, studying his opponents to find weaknesses and capitalize on them. His ability to plot devastating knockouts showcases his strategic brilliance.
There's no denying of Canelo’s elite boxing skills. Whether it's his counterpunching, combination punching, or intelligent pressure fighting, there's so much to learn from Canelo Alvarez.

I like that you show his elusiveness with bivol. As a Canelo fan, I did see him lose that fight. Bivol was more effective than he was. Canelo did seem very tired towards the champ rounds. But throughout the fight you can see Canelo's expert head movement.

Canelo was tired after the third. Prior to that it looked like he would win comfortably.

After that Ryder fight. I don't see Canelo dominating anyone.

@@GoSkaTeproductions That’s exactly what Canelo wanted people to think. As the fight was held in Mexico, he had to give the people a Mexican style fight. He also needed to test his wrist. Have you seen his GGG fights? He changed/improved every time. That would happen if there was a Bivol rematch. Totally different game from Canelo. Especially with the fixed wrist. Don’t forget - Canelo practically fought Bivol with one hand only.

Look at who Carmelo fought and his record vs divol 22-0 vs canelo 60-2 looks like someone has a lot more wins and fights better opponents
