After staying at a French Quarter, Coronado, and Caribbean Beach over the years I have to say French Quarter wins hands down. Smallest resort with one bus stop, easy to navigate, and the option of taking a boat to Disney Springs or Riverside for easy access to other dining options. We love, love, love this one.

Caribbean has always been wonderful for my family. The negative criticism is significantly over exaggerated. It's a lot of walking but that's typical of many Disney resorts.

Coronado Springs for us is simple.....if you are in a non-tower (OG) room, it is comparable to Caribbean Beach and similar (way too big, and way too many long, hot walks to get around).....however, the Gran Destino tower is AWESOME, and we are staying there in August for the 2nd time in a row! It is absolutely like being in a Deluxe for Moderate prices

IF you stay at any of the All-Star resorts, a rental car may be a necessity. Yes there are buses, but it's a LONG ride to any of the parks.

    • @BamaFreak132009
      @BamaFreak132009 Před rokem

The only time we used our car was to drive to Chef Mickey for a 7 AM reservation. That was a necessity or we would have never made it. The rest of the time was just go with the flow, but it did take 20 to 30 minutes to get to the parks most days and sometimes wait 30 to 45 minutes on the way back to the hotel.

Thank you for sharing alot of great info and reviews about so many awesome resorts, my friend! The mobile "check in" feature seems pretty helpful. The smores around the camp fire sounds REALLY GOOD, at the Wilderness Lodge! Thank you for that inportant info ablout the Contemporary, Garden Wing and the Main Tower. Excellent info that we didn't know about. Thank you for the info about the "bus loops", too. With all the walking involved, after visiting characters and enjoying all that the magical parks have to offer... we wouldn't hear the fireworks go off, while sleeping in the Cinderella suite at the Cinderella Castle. Just to comment about the "paper thin walls" at one of the resorts, lol! Thank you, for all the wonderful information. You make it look easy, Have a magical week!💖💖

My wife and I stayed 12 nights at Grand Destino Tower club level last year. We got there the day that Ian rolled in . Being able to got to the Chronos club and not have to stand in huge crowds to get a meal of sorts during the hurricane was a real luxury , plus the staff was amazing in the club. The food at Cafe Rix was fantastic as well . We ate there a couple times after the parks opened up and the crowds thinned out. The bus issue was an issue the whole time we where there, but my wife planned ahead and put extra money back to use Minnie vans as transport.

Only thing I didn’t like was just how cold the hotel was. Never wore a jacket inside because as soon as you step outside it’s instantly warm. Never got that sticky/humidity feeling everyone claimed to get but I vividly remember just how cold the inside lobby was.

We just got back from our WDW trip and we stayed in AKL. We also visited the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and the Poly. Our last trip in 2019 we stayed in the Wilderness Lodge. Out of those the Wilderness Lodge is still my favorite. AKL was a close second, and the Poly was nice as well. The Contemporary just doesn't do it for me, especially at those prices.
Even though the only free transportation from AKL was the buses, it's really not that big of a deal. Buses were timely and got us to the parks and Disney Springs quickly.

  • @WhiteEagle27

Have to defend Carribean Beach a bit, since we love it so much! I know there's an internal bus loop, but it has never seemed that long when we have stayed. And the rooms are still very nice, especially when you are mostly using them to sleep, shower, and regroup before heading back to the parks or meals. The village is beautiful, the quiet pools are amazing, the feature pool was spectacular, and the Skyliner itself makes this resort worth it.

Stayed at Coronado resort several months ago, in a casia. Room was awesome and a nice price. The resort is spread out but really didn't mind the walking. Biggest pain was the transportation to the parks. Allowed extra time for that and besides the one time the bus was almost full, didn't have any issues really..we just allowed the extra time and expected it. Will probably stay at Port Orleans next time!

Over the last couple of years we have stayed in the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds (in our pop-up trailer), Contemporary (Garden Wing), Wilderness Lodge, Pop Century, Art of Animation (Nemo Suite), and PO French Quarter. I'd have to say French Quarter was my favorite for sure. Small size, quiet, good food from the cafeteria, kid loved the pool/splash pad, pool bar was great, good vibes, and only 1 bus stop. Also loved Contemporary (pre-renovation) as our garden room had a sliding door that opened onto the sandy area by the pool so we'd go out in the evening and toss a nerf ball around. All are great hotels though and never a bad experience anywhere. Would love to try out Old Key West, Beach Club, and Caribbean Beach in the future.

Interesting. We stayed at Animal Kingdom lodge a few years back and it was the worst that we stayed at. The wait for the buses was very very long. And the service wasn’t much better. Stayed at contemporary the first time we went to Disney. Love that it was so walkable to MK. With 2 little children and pushing a double stroller back and forth, it’s a life saver. Resort itself is very compact and easy to explore.
Stayed at AKL for a pre cruise night. Didn’t go to the parks, so can’t say anything about the transportation, but the resort itself is beautiful, room was nice, kids loved seeing the animals, participating all the activities, enjoying the pool.
Stayed at CS for an add on day due to our flight changes. The tower room was nice, easy walk to the main pool, connecting to the restaurant. Really gives a luxury hotel feeling with very reasonable price. Used bus to AK around 6:00 am, was the last stop picked up, still had a few seats. However, it might be a problem during the busy time that you have to wait for another bus if it’s already full.
Stayed at Poly the second time went to WDW. We were put in a building right next to the main building, easy access to the pool, easy walk way to TTC for monorail to EPCOT. Resort itself is beautiful, newly renovated room was nice and spacious, however, we caught in a pouring rain a few times, we were able to run back into our room without getting drenched. The people who stayed away from the main building wouldn’t be able to stay dry since they have to walk for a longer distance outside to get back.
We stay at Wilderness Lodge during the holiday season last time we visited, went to MK for the party. Nice boat ride back and forth, but did take longer than monorail loop resorts. The resort was absolutely breathtaking during holiday season, pool was nice. Will definitely stay here again during the same time of the year.

I can't remember if we stayed at French Quarter or Riverside, but do remember it being a nice affordable resort. We've also stayed at Caribbean Beach, Boardwalk, and Coronado. When I was with my immediate family and a teenager we stayed at Grand Floridian. I think my favorite though is Boardwalk before the remodel. We liked how close it was to 2 of the 4 main parks and how spacious and luxurious it felt. I also liked the Grand Floridian, but not if I have to pay.

First, thank you for making these videos. I can go on adventure back to my old homes without spending a billion dollars 🙂
Second, I understand Walt wanted things to change and continue to progress, but some of the new room decor is not worth the money when you only are sleeping there. If you plan to spend your entire trip in your room, I would say yes the new room decors are probably a positive thing.
Lasty third, from 96 to 06, when I was a CM, we called to make a reservation, at that time that is how we got a CM discount on rooms, but the call center CM would usually tell us the florida Resident rate, which was always cheaper than the CM rate. This is the only time I ever remember you could book a moderate or valve for, wait for it, $99.00 per night! That we definitely will NEVER see again.
    Keep up the awesome videos!

We are trying art of animation for the first time, in a family suite. We have stayed at wilderness lodge on our past 14 trips. We also stayed at Coronado Springs, it was far from ideal. The buses were very slow. The food court was boring and all the drink refill stations were broken through out our entire trip.We tried the contemporary garden view room. It was pretty and the room was large. You were cast off from the regular building. It felt like we were out casts from the best part of the hotel. I know your mileage may vary depending on your family situation, but I feel like the advantage of the skyliner at AoA really cannot be overstated. My family was there a few months ago and one of our party members had just started chemo, so they were using an ECV to get around. It was insanely convenient to barely wait in a line, to just drop into a park and pop back out when we would get tired. It will be really hard to convince me to stay at any other hotel going forward!

If you want a reasonably priced hotel with great amenities, nice rooms and an excellent location, than stay at the Swan and Dolphin. Disney hotels can be interesting to visit and have some nice restaurants. But they are almost never worth what Disney charges for them, even when it's (relatively) cheap.

I disagree with the comment about transportation at Contemporary. It was actually one of the best perks of the resort as MK was walkable, Contemporary is the first stop on the way back after a long park day, Epcot is also reachable by monorail, and the buses, at least when I went in Sept last year, did not get uncomfortably full. Amenities though seemed a little lacking for a deluxe resort, and some parts of the resort were outdated. Bay Lake has no gym, and even then the gym in the main tower is hidden in a weird corridor and windowless. It is a long walk if you aren't staying in the main tower; and because everything is sectioned off, the floor plans are confusing and deter from a sense of coherence in vibe and theme. Of the three monorail resorts, Grand Floridian definitely seems to be the best overall and most relaxing

EVERY HOTEL HAS A WAIT AFTER FIREWORKS NOT JUST CORONADO! Lmfaoo - a Coronado stan. Also... almost all hotels open their door to outside in Disney... motel vibes? Bye.

Some of these reviews....you know it's not the hotel's/resort's fault if you dont take maybe 10 - 15 minutes to do some advanced research on it before you book/go. In this age where all these wonderful videos are available on CZcams and review sites, there's just no excuse anymore for well known places. That's your fault for not finding out there is no bus or boat to somewhere you want to go. That's your fault for not checking room type before finding out it's not what you were expecting. It's not the 80s anymore, the info is easily accessible or a travel agent can do the footwork for you.

The CB is very big but the pool is right by the main building, unlike some of the moderate resorts. I thought it was lovely.

I am also thinking that after the remolded room at BW, BW might come back for the top 3 hotel conversation again. Like they did about 10 years ago lol. People loved BW so much 😂

NONE... let me say that again. NONE of the WDW resorts offer good value for what you pay for them. But, you are captive audience so you are stuck with it. I've stayed at cheaper / better hotels that offer breakfast while traveling for my kids sporting events. If I am not renting DVC points which is a better value, Port Orleans French Quarter is a great option due to the smaller footprint, price and boat ride to Disney Springs.

My Favorite Resort is not on Disney property. I found for the money it's better staying at hotels or resorts off Disney. Getting that extra 30-minute early access, compared to a resort with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, full kitchen, multiple pools, and more for less than $400/night is 100% better than any Disney hotel prices.

Anything named Disney is dead. Nice try but no one is buying this garbage. Overhyped and over priced.

I'd say a lot of what I hear in some of the disappointed reviews is people not having done some research. (And you can't rate the Contemporary poorly b/c you ended up in a faraway building-that's got nothing to do with the resort as a whole). I highly recommend @Herewiththeears video room tours on CZcams, they have stayed in just about every single type of room at every resort on property! They can tell you which club levels give the best foods and really any other type of pertinent information you'd want to know!
