Hi Doc I am 5 years behind looking at your hinging tip. You are such an inspiration to this hobby it just AWESOME! I noticed that you like your 55 Chevies. This makes it even more interesting because i am a Tri-Chevy man myself. Going to try your way of doing it Thank you once again

Dr. Cranky, I used to model a long time ago, but different things like schooling, my career and other activities pulled me away from something I really enjoyed. Since my motorcycle accident, I've seen a lot of your(and a couple of other folks) vids during the time I was healing. I have to say, you rekindled the modeling bug in me! I learned a heck-of-a-lot tips and new ideas-especially about painting from you. I have one problem, I'm paralyzed from the chest down and I just can't get around like I used to. Modeling used to be easy. I got off track from what I wanted to say to you; and that was, My hat goes off to you! You're a very talented man with unique ideas! That's why you're the Doctor.

I really appreciate your posting this. I am getting back into modelling after many years being away from it. A lot has changed since I built models and there was no one around who could show how to make details such as these hinges. This and some of the other techniques you show will really help me to be a better modeler and make my models more interesting to me if to no one else. I still have so much to learn but you have helped me a great deal...Thanks from a new 63yr old modeler..

HEY DOCTOR, I NEED SOME MEDICAL ADVICE ON MY CURRENT CAR MODEL BUILD. DO YOU HAVE THE TIME ?
I do not want to add irrelevant stuff to my comments but I can't help myself. 30+ years ago I managed "A REAL" hobbyshop when they weren't so far and few between.
Anyway,I started a kit back then
Monogram #2757 37 Ford "Fat Fendered" Street Rod. I loved the box art so I decided to open up the doors, which I did,BUT.....I put the kit away until now. O.k.,I have watched numerous utube videos on how to hinge car models yours being one of them. They used cars from the 60's,70's. The doors on these cars were thick. As you know, you can drill holes in the door to fit plastistruct hollow tubing. I am using #223 3/32" tubing AND Paperclips. No can do !
The door is too thin and not alot of room to epoxy the other part of the hinge to the door frame close to the firewall. Have you done a project with this vintage car where the door and door skin is real thin ? Your guidance would be very much appreciated.
I am stuck in a quagmire LOL . Wasting alot of time that I can be spending on a easier projects. Thank you Doc.

I love watching your 'how to' videos, but, I tend to find them harder to with the music playing, I much prefer and tend to find them far easier to follow, if you are showing and talking us through the process, when it is just music playing I tend to not concentrate as much and quickly lose interest, music videos are only ok for showing finished models etc...
Please, is there any chance you could do another one of these showing how to do the hinges etc but with you talking instead of the music please...
Many thanks and please keep up the great work...
    John...
