    Blessed Sunday morning, was a rough week 2 very unexpected deaths. It hits hard when you can be texting in the morning and gone by the afternoon. Life is so precious and fragile. Every moment is to be appreciated and not taken for granted as we truly don't know how much longer we have be it seconds minutes hours days etc, sending love & best wishes from Ontario Canada 🙏🏻❤🇨🇦❤

      Sorry 😞 for your losses,have lost my mother, a cousin and two very dear friends in just five weeks and so empathise sincerely.Such a big part of one's daily life and with the constraints of covid/ flooding just adds to the upset.Take comfort in memories 😀 💙and joy in my grandees ❤, hope you can too.     I know this is going to sound goofy, but I love the creamy clean hoof that is revealed during a trim…. Oddly enough, I can’t stand human nails…at all; they creep me out ..BUT when I see a lovely trimmed hoof, it’s beautiful and so very satisfying. Maybe I’ve found my next vocation?

    Hoof tite cold is a good adhesive to use in the winter and summer. It'll glue all blocks no matter the conditions out.

    I am in Saskatchewan Canada and our snow just finally melted and has been around +10C lately.
    The cows just finally went back into the fields and then today it started to blizzard and is back to -20C so they were all put back in the barns.
    I feel bad for the poor girls, but they are well taken care of in my area

    Me thinking-“Oh my gosh look at the black stuff on the inner wall she’s going to need that carved out” (cleans up fine and takes a block). Then-“little nick on the outer wall should grind off”-(1/3 of the claw has to come off). 😂

      It should be an antibiotic spray for a cut or something.

      @@blakchyny Could be udder comfort which is a mint cream to help reduce swelling. The blue color could be a dye

    I really like that you always start with the knife work instead of using the grinder first off! If shows you are taking extra care(in my opinion) I’m not causing pain to the cows.
    Just one question, why do we never see you trim the few claws. Some of them are ever so long…not this cow btw.

      you can take a sheet of paper thickness off of a hoof accurately with a grinder. I am sure on non lame ones he is much more pro grinder for the time saved

    How often do you clean the knives? Is it between each hoof trim or each cow trim?

    I'm new to your channel and am having one slight glitch here and there... with the language difference. I'm from Canada and I'm finding when you say "foot", it's apparently close enough to another 4-letter F word that if I'm daydreaming or zone out for a second (ADHD), I snap back like, "WTF did he just say??".. lol. It doesn't even sound that close when I think about it.. it's happened at least 3 or 4 times in the last 2 videos.

    Do you ever use 1/2 blocks? Also I would like to see before and after from the front to see the correct angle the hoof SHOULD be.

    I notice that you prefer the black glue for adhering the block to the hooves while another hoof trimmer channel I follow uses a white or blue glue. Is there a different glue for different applications or is it truly just trimmers preference?

      All different brands Brad, the black glue is probably the thickest glue you can get.

    What is the lifespan of your knives on average?

      Hmm, every day use with just 2 knives I’d say 5 weeks.
      I start 10-20 at a time so they are all at different stages if that makes sense

    I mostly watch with the sound off, but why in most of the hoof trimming videos I see do the trimmers not use the grinder as much as possible before using the carving tool? There are times it seems the grinder could be used, but it is not. Ignorantly it seems it would produce the most uniform result possible to use the grinder as much as possible.
