Jigsaw - Sky high (Ruud's Extended Edit)

- Jigsaw was an English pop music group (singer-songwriter duo of Clive Scott (R.I.P.) and Des Dyer, Barrie Bernard & Tony Campbell). In Australia the group was called "British Jigsaw" due to the existence of a local band of the same name. In the Mid Seventies they signed a contract with the independent UK label 'Splash'. Their first recording for the label, titled "Sky High", was recorded for the film The Man from Hong Kong, a 1975 martial-arts action movie starring George Lazenby. Splash pressed a couple of hundred promotional copies and reaction to the song was good, especially from Radio Luxembourg which began playing the song with high rotation during its nightly English pop music broadcasts to the UK. "Sky High" subsequently made the UK Top 10 in November 1975. Chelsea Records released it in the U.S. (where Splash had no pressing plant) and it was a hit there, going to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and to #2 Adult Contemporary. The song also charted all over the world and was #1 in Japan. A famous Mexican wrestler, Mil Máscaras, used "Sky High" as his theme tune. He would walk to the ring with the song playing in the background, and his popularity in Japan helped "Sky High" to become a hit twice over in that country in consecutive years.
I found several mixes of 'Sky high' and I got inspired to create my own extended edit. I used the 'Disco Purrfection' mix, which I cut, copied, pasted and restructured and also cleaned it up and gave the sound a little 'boost'. For the video I used footage I have found on CZcams.

I can't stop playing this and it's driving the family mad. 😀 remember buying this in 75 on the Splash record label but love this extended version with the film clips ( how amazing is that hang gliding !). Great job. If I could only get this on my iTunes library I could drive the family mad in the car too.

Same here. Lead song for "The Drug King". Although I first heard the song back in the 1970s I had completely forgotten about it even though I liked it a lot. I just downloaded it and it's heading for my iTunes Library. This extended version is awesome.

I always stay as close to the original as I can (that's the way the artist intended). After editing I might clean if it is from vinyl and boost up the sound a bit to make it sound more crispy. -:)

Que música fantástica. Ela é demais e na versão de 1990 foi muito bem tocada pelo Newtom. Já disseram que a voz não era dele e sim do cantor original mas ele interpretou bem na mímica. Agora a voz dele é bela como desse cantor dos anos 70. Aliás ele ainda está vivo?.
