The movie was a slow burn but I wasn’t really satisfied with the ending. I peeped Oliver when he was talking to Venitia in the courtyard. I was like why his personality changed so quickly and then when Felix found out the truth about him and he from a perfectly normal looking 2 household family. He already gave me sociopathic tease. Then he wasn’t really hurt when Felix died and he was still at the house. The Saltburn people are all terrible people with the elitism but Oliver is worse for playing god just because he want the life.
ASHLEYYY!!! I haven’t watched yet but I’m mad at the thumbnail! I thought this movie was so good! Now the scenes yes weird asf but the plot I thought it was great and very captivating!!! You should do an old school thriller next like silence of the lambs or Jackie brown!
Jacob Elordi (actor who played Felix) is Australian. He does an American accent better than an English one. I’m pleasantly surprised you watched this film, not surprised you didn’t like it, and excited to hear your review. I’m one of those who liked Saltburn, even with its flaws and especially because it was weird and slightly disturbing. Barry Keoghan (actor who played Oliver) acted his a$$ off. So did Rosamund Pike (actor who played Elspeth, Felix’s mother). Yes, Barry does look old and young at the same time, even in real life. It’s unclear, but I think Oliver penetrated Farleigh. 🤣 from 34:45 to 35:12
Jacob Ellordi (Felix) is actually Australian, he does accents really well. Barry Keoghan (Oliver) who is Irish is a good ass actor but his accent was meh, he sounded Irish not British to me?
I thought I would love this from the trailer but ended up so disappointed. The movie has no point. It isn't t even a character study because we don't know Oliver's motivation.
A couple things I got from it… Felix & The family are meant to appear good but aren’t really sincere. They feed off of the poor unfortunate souls & those that would fawn over them to make them feel better about themselves. They are shallow. White saviors in a way. Ollie picked up on this and went to the extreme. Farley didn’t need to be on his list because they didn’t really care about him. And we saw that with Paula. As soon as Oliver (fresh meat) came they were done with her. Plus Farley & the butler were onto him. Farley & Ollie were just playing chess. Therefore Felix wasn’t mad that Ollie lied, it was that he wasn’t down & out like he thought he was.
I thought Oliver originally planned this because he wanted the money and assets that they had and he later became obsessed with Felix as shown by his sick, depraved actions lol.
The movie is about love, obsession and desire and what happens when that person doesn’t love you back…he didn’t really kill them because they were rich..but he did that because Felix rejected him.
At the 90 minute mark I paused the movie looked at my friend and gave him an alternative ending, because the movie should’ve been over at that point and then after another 45 minutes of the movie and a horrible ending we looked at each other again and said Belle should’ve and could have written it, also it being written and directed by Midge from Barbie really makes it come full circle as well like this makes sense why this isn’t for me
I loved this film it was hilarious because I’m from the UK so i know these kind of people 🤣 I really watched it for the mixed guy though 👀 The dude who kept getting thrown out the family home hahaa! The ending was pretty trash tbh
