  • I want to do a quick test of 3 microphones ZOOM H1, SHURE SM58 and Audio Technica AT815b for my church’s Christmas event. I want to see which microphone can pickup the vocal best at distance of 6 FT while reducing the background music.

The spatial sound of the Zoom is just unmatched. It feels so much fuller as opposed to the others feeling flat and tinny.

Interesting. I preferred the SM58, maybe? SM58 is a vocal mic though and better for close up audio. I have the AT-815b and I find I have to turn the gain all the way up and its still barely audible. Is that normal?

Have you tried some phantom power?

You need to have +48v phantom power turned on, or alternatively, you can unscrew the bottom of the microphone to replace the battery that is within the AT815b...

Can you connect Shure SM58 to Zoom H1N?

Yes you can you just need the special cable amzn.to/3m3NnFJ

@@Running1226 yeah I know about the cable, roughly speaking. But does it really works? Can you do a quick video demo on this?
