You've officially used a bumper jack more times than most of those people that drive the pavement-princess jeeps with jacks mounted on the hood! Great job on rigging up wheels for dispensing the sheeting. I like your ingenuity!
I never thought I would find a CZcams video I related to so much. I've experienced every one of these frustrations (and unexpected tool purchases)... and I made my dome cover out of canvas on a sewing machine. My test run was out of Tyvek, so I really like this idea. Thank you for posting this... I feel less insane for the hell I put myself through hahaha.
A hot air welding gun is the perfect tool for this job, they can be had for very little money on amazon or ebay. Fully adjustable temperature control, several nozzles and a silicon pressure roller.
@@aegismountain I have athe standard 2.5kw heat gun (2 heat settings) which is ok for stripping paint and thawing pipes. My hot air welding gun is fully variable from about 40c - 600c which makes welding seams a breeze. I think i paid around $80 a few years back, chinese origin but no complaints performance wise.
Hey Bud, Oatey makes X-15 Adhesive for PVC shower liners. I used it when I was doing my shower pan. You apply to both sides of what you are gluing and join after a couple minutes (like rubber cement) It's specifically formatted for PVC sheeting, NOT PVC Piping. I know the heat gun seems to be working but I figured I would suggest just in case there are tiny holes that would allow water to pass through your joints. Also, if it heats up in the summer it might break your melted joints. Holding power is good; watertight is better :) The X-15 is specifically designed for wet conditions so it might provide better leak protection.
I am making 3v 20 diameter glamping dome.. But the fabric is not in fitting.. what I can do I want to cut new fabric..can u please teel me about pattern
I think you are using the wrong tool for that. There is a tool similar to a heat gun but is specific to PVC welding I suppose it would make the fabrication of the cover easier right ?
Yes, but they can be pretty expensive and the better ones require the fabric to lay on a flat surface. As Donnie notes in another comment, and I show here: czcams.com/video/0pi1HMPp39I/video.html the X-15 Adhesive works very well and much easier.
PVC is what the plumbing is made out of in most new construction. Granted, there are different types of PVC, but we're going on the assumption that it'll be fine. I've seen dome covers made out of all kinds of things, old banners, canvas, shrink-wrap. You could do animal hides if you really wanted to.

Without those "Zombie Response Vehicles" I may not have known that this type of jack even existed though!

Anything worth doing, ain't easy? Or something, like that right? Please, tell me it was all worth it! :D
I love your perseverance! What an amazing project ❤

But then where would the memories be that we made along way?

I will absolutely have to check that out.
I admire your tenacity so much.

I did not use a pattern. I didn't feel like I had the space or measuring capabilities to figure it out, so I just did it in place.

is this PVC non-toxic material? If so what other material can be used ?
