Hey guys, you know I'm the last person to dwell on the negative but as someone who has publicly been such a staunch supporter of the Southgate era, I felt the need to get this off my chest. Also when I was remembering past tournament appearances, I apparently forgot the damp squib that was World Cup in 2014 and the abject failure to qualify for Euro 2008. But this is the most fear I've ever seen us play with. We aren't talking about top tier teams here, we are showing relative minnows far too much respect in my humble opinion! Hope the Foden family are all ok, there's a lot of things in life that are more important than football. Love to you all.
Foden is fine, he’s had a third kid. So nothing bad happening with regards to him as far as I’m aware.
@@archiewall124Not what I’ve heard.
@@HighJive5that’s what Fabrizio said. So do with that what you will.
@@archiewall124 I’ve heard differently that’s all I can say.
@@HighJive5what have you heard then? And what are you sources?
Not English but don’t understand how you can have the Bundersliga top scorer, EPL player of the season, La Liga player of the season, EPL young player of the season, and play such a horrible style of football. Southgate is genuinely not the answer and is going to waste potentially one of the best individually talented international teams of all time
Well done. You successfully read SportBibles instagram post 😂
@@adamknights1478 Spencer literally said it too, everyone already knows it’s just common football knowledge. However it doesn’t change the fact that he’s not getting best out of the talented group, which is the point i’m trying to get across
Because we've got a beavo lookalike as a manager 😊
The best individual team Of all time is absolutely ridiculous. But yes, southgate is wasting their talent. But it’s because English people do not understand how to play football. Proof: Not a single Englishman won the premier league as a manager
This squad is still so very young besides Kane, so we'll definitely have more chances to win tournaments with this team.
Gareth lives by “don’t go changin’”
Spencer always gives the reasonable unbias opinion. Very refreshing
English view point. Still biased naturally towards England but nowhere near some.
Can't believe I'm nostalgic for Euro 2016 because of that legendary IMO you did on the Iceland game. Spen shows more passion in a 10 minute vid than the whole of the England team combined in a 90 minute game
Can't forget that first line "England are ****" 😂😂
still remember your brilliant IMO in 2016!
If Spencer’s complaining then you know it’s bad😂😂
The transition from the main video to Spencer's update on Foden was absolutely sick 👌
Joe Gomez has been playing left back for most of the season at Liverpool and has been brilliant. He's in the squad on the back of those performances. Why not play him over Trippier, who has been very very poor? I'm not opposed to Kane dropping deep if he has inside forwards (or wingers that cut inside) along side him. Gordon and Palmer would work wonders with that. As would Saka, and Eze tbf.
It doesn't make sense to have Gomez at LB either. For Liverpool, he was playing at LB but played mostly as a wide CB. He rarely moved up the pitch with the ball. So if you replace Trippier with Gomez, it would be the same. No overlapping runs. Just safe passes back to the midfield or defense.
Here’s a fun stat. In 30 seconds, Luka Modric had 1.30 xg against Italy. England, in all three group games combined, have created 2.30 xG.
Useless stat, Croatia are out the tournament
As an England hater that stat is stupid 😂 he had a pen and a shot from like 2 cms out. England r trash at offense but as Spencer said France have 0 open play goals, Belgium suck too. Italy have been disappointing asf. The only big teams that haven’t been a complete disappointment is Germany and Spain. Portugal look good but definitely not winners in my eyes.
Fun stat if you know nothing about stats
He had a penalty and a shot from 3 yards out haha, pointless stat
Here's a fun stat. Luka Modric will play 0 seconds in the knockout stage of the Euros this year.
Southgate is the embodiment of ready salted crisps
He's not even salted mate. He's plain, low fat, unsalted crisps
Underrated comment 🤣🤣🤣
Ready salted is a qualified quality classic lots of people agree with and gets results. Southgate is just unmilled wheat boiled in nothing but water
Salt and shake without the salt
No, I like ready salted.
He has only been good at creating a positive environment for people like you who value vibes over winning, not the rest of us. We've been seeing through him for years.
Remind me which manager (except Sir Alf) got the winning bit right for England? Vibes, better than no vibes and no winning.
@@SpencerFC losers mentality, if he's not winning then what is he there for ? to make you and the players feel good about yourselves ?
You know what vibes are the absolute best ? winning ones.
@@user-mq4hr1ly4b yeah but England haven’t won anything champ. it’s objective and there’s different parameters. By your logic if Luton finished 2nd in the premier league they should be devastated as there’s no point if they’re not ‘winning’ 🤦♂️🤦♂️. God I hate the ‘standards’ crowd so much
@@shivvohra3398 yeah 'champ' and standards change year on year, it's not a static metric. It's clear Southgate reached his ceiling for success at the Euro 2020 Final, and has regressed since.
Constantly, improving standards is how you win things, not stay the same. You're definitely one of those people who support a club who never actually win anything of meaning.
Second place for a Luton in their first season in the Prem is a success. A consecutive second, third, fourth, fifth season of Luton at second place no longer becomes success because - tell me how have you improved to consider it success ? There comes a point where second place is no longer good enough.

I finally agree with you about England since the 2018 World Cup. Which has bugged me because I really enjoy your content. I’ve been Southgate out since the euro’s 2020 final
You wanted Southgate out at the best England has done in most peoples life times?
@@mangohub3252 hate to point out the obvious but he built the foundations for success which is one thing but his in game management in both games cost us. No back up plan in Croatia. Ok we weren’t expecting much fair enough but then we score first at home against an aging poor Italian team may I remind you didn’t qualify for either World Cup either side of that. We had one shot on target in 120 minutes in a HOME tournament. Just to add insult to injury, after that tournament the stats against the top 10 in the fifa rankings which are the opponents around us we had won 4/24 of which half of them came not in any sort of tournament. I think 2 was in the nations league. So not a major tournament. Then if that wasn’t enough to shake you I got proven right at the World Cup. First team who was capable of beating us we lost. And you’ll say ooh but we Germany in the euros. Yes an aging Germany side that didn’t make it out of the World Cup groups either side. Plus we were at home in Wembley. I expected a win. So if you want to look at the surface sure, but he’s played rubbish football but hasn’t won anything. He couldn’t do it as a player he was the one who missed on pens then we lost on pens due to his dreadful substitutions.
Completely agree with every word Spencer, we have to change the wingers for the RO16 game
Foden playing in his least favourite position did way more in the last two games than what Bellingham did in the position he’s supposedly going to be a ballon d’or winner whilst playing in. It’s clear that Foden should be in the 10.
Literally lmao. I love Spencer, but how he's barely criticized Bellingham when he's been the worst attacker for England and basically nonexistent the last 2 games is insane. He's meant to be THE guy. I've heard "Jude's England" instead of "Kane's England" a few times now, yet he's practically getting 0 heat for being tragic in arguably the most important position in the team, while others that are doing better are criticized more.
I feel like this is a visual version of me sat in bed at night, thinking about the game just and talking to meself about what should happen 😂
I'm doing that at work. When I didn't have anything to do I spent a good half an hour just working myself up about Mitchell and Davis not going.
Always love your takes, Spence! Love to you and your family mate! I love your videos!
Every England fan with a brain has been saying how bad Southgate is for years. He has 0 tactics and just relies on individual talent. There's a reason why we never beat the top nations in important games.
literally been shouting it for years but people like him have defended him for so so long
It’s shocking how easy England’s side of the bracket is for the rest of the tournament. Even in their current form they should be making a run. And after such an easy group draw too! No excuses
It’s every tournament, though. Look at the tournaments in the past. They usually always end up on the easy route.
They'll cruise past their next game and go out on penalties in the QF, it's the English way
Great video Spencer, but you also forgot one tournament: Euro 2012. Eliminated by Pirlo’s Italy who were on the right side of one of the most one-sided Euros games ever. It could’ve been 10 if Balotelli had his shooting boots on. Hodgson’s excuse could be that his frontline was lacking serious firepower- unlike Southgate’s.
Southgate said Trippier was carrying an issue before the Slovenia game. I think he’s actually one of the biggest issues going foward. If you watch him he didn’t actually make any sprints in the last game and if Slovenia broke down the right foden, Bellingham and rice really quickly got back to cover him. I think the issue is actually quite bad but it’s also the main reason Trippier is continually going inside and not overlapping is his fitness. Got to give Saka a go at LWB next game for me
I wonder why Gareth didn’t call up Mitchell from Palace. He’s a natural left back that’s was doing well under glasner. Especially considering the fact that gareth called up Adam Wharton
I thought you were crazy with Saka at left wing but after an explanation it actually makes a lot of sense. I think you could put someone besides foden at right wing though (although if you did keep foden there that would probably be a great system to play Trent)
I'm typing this before watching the video, purely because I wanted to say what I've been seeing:
-Our front 4 of Kane, Bellingham. Foden and Saka have scored 100+ goals between them in the 23/24 season. On the bench, we've got another 50 goals in Watkins and Palmer. They're barely having a shot while playing for England.
-Pickford, Stones, Guehi and Rice have all screamed at the players in front of them in all three games for not giving options. A big reason our build-up play is slow.
-Because our build up is slow, we give the ball away when we run out of ideas.
-Trippier has been constantly encouraged by teammates to overlap, yet barely crosses the halfway line.
-I saw a stat that Foden has passed to Pickford more times (3), than he has Kane (1). In ALL 3 games.
-Kane seems perpetually unavailable to receive the ball. He drops into midfield needlessly and manages to mark himself out of the game.
-On multiple occasions, we've been in a position to put a cross in, but our players have a gentle jog towards the penalty area, zero urgency at all, meaning we're forced to play backwards when the opposition get back into shape.
It just looks completely half-effort. Great, we've got through, but we were the best of a bad bunch. Our group has a combined total of 7 goals scored, and 5 draws from the 6 games.
I swear ur opinion is absolutely spot on every time, Spence👌
How is the team with the best squad struggling in every of the group stage game?
We want Spencer and father, brothers vlogging from Germany.
The problem i have with Southgate is hes experimenting now in the tournament. Why not experiment during the friendlies during the year? No he called up players like hendo when he knew he couldn't get away with bringing him. The blokes so stubborn its a joke
Saka has been the only attacking player creating things for England so far. He’s not been great by any means but I don’t think he can be grouped in with Foden and Bellingham who, outside of Jude’s goal in the 1st game (which Saka created), have been missing.
I dont think Spanish squad is worse than England squad. English players just have better PR. I would argue on a technical level Spanish players are better and are probably the best in the world
We were pretty well beaten in South Africa 2010, that was a bad tournament.
We were exciting in the World Cup, unlucky against France.
We’ve got fortunate with the draw, but sadly I don’t think we’re going to take advantage of it, yet again.
Spot on, Spencer.
To all the experts that were telling West Ham fans to be happy with Moyes - they are now feeling the same (albeit with a far more talented squad) sense of indignity with Southgate’s England.
When you’re more talented than your opposition, defence is secondary. Unfortunately, it is Southgate’s primary focus & it’s scraped us through a weak group but if Iceland can find a way through, any team in the knockout will too.
Spendog, what do you say to the barber as the haircut is exactly what i want but never know what to ask for. Cheers
I want Mike Basset as Manager 😮
It has to be a back three with Trent as wing back. It makes so much more sense!!
Anyone with an ounce of footballing knowledge can see how poor a manager Southgate is - this was apparent before and during the purple patch England had. His stagnant and stale approach is so hard to watch. If you asked any top-10 EPL team supporter if they'd have Southgate manage their club, the answer would be a stern "no", if he isn't good enough for a solid club outfit, he isn't good enough for an international side. As a Welshman, I hope his tenure with England lasts for generations, because then the echo chamber of British TV - laden with English comms - will be slightly more bearable.
I support Portsmouth & wouldn't have him anywhere near us.
Foden hasn't done enough to keep a spot in the 11? Really?
Almost none of them have!!
Harry Kane although hasn’t played well, he is still a match winner.
Cam we get an updated prediction video now that he have the actual bracket?
Something I’d love to see England to try is attack in a 3-2-4-1. Think about it especially if southgates doesn’t want to change his way. Trippier can push his way up to a left wing position, it allows Foden to invert as a 10, Bellingham can stay as a 10, Saka holds width on the right. Walker comes at a right center back stones a central centerback and guehi who can play lb plays as a left centerback, Kane upfront who I think should stay up there but if he did drop we now have more runners to make a run in behind and rice and Trent can sit behind. We’d overload the midfield and have a lot of triangles and passing lanes. Defensively we can get back into a 4-2-3-1.
Team I'd play next game
Pickford
Walker Stones Guehi Gomez
Rice
Foden Bellingham
Saka Kane Gordon
This gives us a right half space of Walker Foden Saka which is similar to White Ødegaard Saka. Would be fluid. Gomez at LB frees up Walker to overlap while still giving us a back 3.
Biggest issue for me was taking one left footed left back, these are the basics, the friendlies before the tournament we should’ve been imbedding Doughty or Mitchell or whoever.
For the next match we need to do something like this:
Trent Stones Guehi Walker/Saka
Rice Mainoo/Bellingham
Palmer Foden Gordon
Kane
The fa only have themselves to blame if they fail to win this tournament, easy quali, group and now path to the final.
Handing this job to an unproven coach at any level just defies logic
Hi Spencer it’s horrendous only won one game in the group stage it’s ridiculous it needs to change Southgate is out of his depth he’s lost the dressing room and I think the players are not playing for the manager anymore
We do have Gomez. Played most his football out there last season and it CANT be worse than trippier
England are guilty of playing to the standard of the Oppo.
We’re never exciting but it’s tournament football and defensive structure is the most important thing for a team to have.
Playing any of the big boys will be so tough for us this time around, the lack of fluidity moving forward is killing Southgate’s biggest asset, which has been his defensive stability.
One thing you can’t stand even if you’re happy clapper is not utilising the personnel available.
Saka playing LW makes sense probably because you can then get trippier to roll inside and cut in and hit one. Also saka is a demon 1 on 1 either side of the pitch
I’m still on team Southgate. Doesn’t mean I’m happy with how things have gone or that I think he’s done everything right, but I am keeping the faith and I refuse to blame him for everything that’s happened (or not happened) particularly in the Denmark game where we made so many individual errors. When players can’t string 3 passes together or clear the ball then you don’t really get the chance to see what the manager’s plan was. Also why aren’t more people talking about how poor Rice has been? Maybe I hold him to account more because he’s usually so reliable but for me he’s been tetchy AF.
Love the idea of using Saka as a fullback. 👍
Yeah, long live Lord Southgate. I'm not from England, but Croatia (which btw played absolutely horrendous beyond all measures and rightfully knocked out). I don't know how he's doing in terms of coaching, but people say he's like our coach Dalic, underutilizing young talents and people mad with him. But regardless I like him and his approach and analytical skills. And even though everybody wants England to lose because of their arrogance, I'm team England!
Spencer is a chilled version of Rory.
I’m sorry, but why is everyone saying English defense good? They have played Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark. “Do me a favor”
I get what you're saying, however there's also the argument you can only defend against what's in front of you and fortunately, to the teams good fortune, we've not been letting in silly.goals which ultimately cost us our place in the tournament which I guess is the optimistic way to look at it.
That being said, they are yet to have been tested by the best attacking players at this tournament so it is very hard to judge how well they've done defensively. That being said, Walker and Stones are consistently competing against the best in the league and champions League, and Guehi has looked very solid over the course of the last few months of the premier league season so there isn't many reasons to suggest the defence would struggle against the better attacking players
That’s irrelevant. We have seen worse teams score goals against big teams.
Theres no way Southgate would do this, since if it failed hed be fired in about 5 seconds, but play Foden at CF and drop Kane. Play a false 9 with Saka and Palmer on the wings, Rice at DM, and Bellingham and Mainoo as the CMs.
Especially against the more defensive minded teams that gives you the most creativity and individual attacking takent possible while still keeping the sane defensive structure.
Got it spot on mate 👍🏻
I dont understand what people are on about regarding Saka. When he broke in to the first team he mainly played on the left. Mostly LW, but sometimes LB. For the first TWO seasons he did that! I remember, but I have also checked fbref AND Transfermarket sats. And even at the start of 20/21 he played on the left for the first 3 months.. after that he has mainly been used on the right. It only takes a few clicks to get informed. People are either ignorent or just forget so fast.
time for Devs to take the England job
Foden has been given a bizarre roll to invert & take up everyone’s space. Play him 10 and Jude 8 with a proper winger and yous would be way better balanced
Always love Spenny’s level headed opinions
Foden's fine, great news actually. He just had a birth of his 3rd child (at 24!), he'll be back for the Last 16.
the southgate apologist has finally realised
Southgate must be related to a banker because England have another doable path to the final. I'd wish UEFA & FIFA would change the qualification rules for the knockout rounds: allow only teams who win their group to qualify according to group position. Then put every other team in an aggregate league table, where the top 10 is decided by points scored. Games won will be used as a main tie breaker, which would've put Ukraine and Hungary through instead of Denmark & Slovenia gaming the system. In the context of tournament football, goal difference ends up rewarding more defensive, boring teams.
That last game in the group was he best chance to experiment if he wasn’t willing to do it then he won’t do it In the knockouts
You say we are good defensively but who has actually tested the defence Denmark literally scored from outside of the box
Joe Gomez also played some nice LB for Liverpool this season, worth a shout
I know this is a hot take but I’d drop Bellingham and play foden in that attacking midfield role and then play mainoo alongside rice in the middle and have Gordon off the left
Exactly. Bellingham is good at making late runs into the box but he's no where near as good technically on the ball as foden or as creative midfielder. No way bellingham plays number 10 over foden.
Bellingham is an 8/6 why is he forcing it? Foden should be playing 10 every single game
very well said
we're doing badly because Spencer isn't there to watch them live! I miss the matchday vlogs.
EDIT: bit unfair tbh. Foden has been good on the LW, he literally did it at the 2022 World Cup for us.
I knew before the tournament that the only way England can’t go on to win the whole thing is because of Southgate. England have the best squad with multiple player of the year winners in the past season and I can only imagine what someone like Pep Guardiola could get them doing
What I will say is you mentioned there was not media pressure pre-tournament... we were tournament favorites and theres a million adverts and articles on how Jude should carry us... hes 20? Like there was a lot of pressure.
Walker has not once overlapped or tried to combine with the RW, likewise with Trippier. All attackers are similar profiles and come towards the ball. It is so easy to defend against a static side, need a deep midfielder willing to pass forwards and players who are willing to run in behind or beyond Kane.
I genuinely think Southgate gets the sack unless we win the tournament, the football has been terrible and the fans aren’t gonna be wanting to go and fill up Wembley or travel for World Cup qualifiers to watch this style of football
I think the problem is English Managers.... Capello had a horrible team to work with, but stop going with English managers, they aren't successful anywhere, after this tournament, try and get a European manager of high class and with the talent England has, they'll win a tournament.
Agree with spencer, saka would be on the left he can be the guy to run in behind and get a cross in. would rather our left side defended more and have walker go up on the right and overlap palmer. Midfield still is our main issue in recent games
I’m not an Ipswich fan, but I can’t stress this enough, Leif Davis would’ve been PERFECT as a LB option this tournament.
Just the feeling of England playing in this tournament is all wrong. I always look forward to the Euros and WC because I love watching England play; however, I almost resent each matchday now. I just want to be excited to watch them play
The 5atb with Saka at LWB is where you’d actually want Foden LW and allow him to drift
Hear me out.
Football has changed significantly throughout the past decade. Tactically, a lot of formations that we used to think are "unbreakable" are now being exploited and mostly every opponent you face has a sense of idea of what your tactical vision is. I'd set up England like this and I need everyone to hear me out well.
First, the formation: 3-4-2-1 interchanging throughout the game based on different situations( can be 5-2-3 defensively or 4-3-3 in the buildup and in the attack 3-4-2-1)
Pickford in net
Stones Guehi and Gomez at the back
Walker Rice Bellingham Gordon
Saka Kane Foden
the way to set this up where every player can play in their most played position is that
Stones can push up in midfield if Bellingham is attacking Bringing back Walker to cover with guehi and gomez at the back.
Gordon can play the "support winger" where can be there to cover aswell as attack if needed
Foden and Bellingham both can play through the middle while Saka and Gordon on the wings
Kane is to be that forward if needed to comeback, Saka and Foden can get in behind.
Mainoo to come in when needed defensive support
Palmer/Watkins/Bowen/Toney are all offensive options
The problem with England is that they are playing too cautiously and although they are through to the knockouts, I agree there needs to be a change. Let me know what you guys think!
I respect you Spence but to Say Greece's Euro 2004 run was underwhelming is a joke. Greece played to there strengths through brilliant coaching beating the likes of the Hosts Portugal twice a Euro Cup-winning French team and an amazing Czech golden generation side. This England team is a joke on paper they are probably the best team next to France yet the coaching is so bad that they can hardly create good chances nonetheless score. The main difference between these two sides is yes they both defend well but England is massively underperforming with the insane world class players they have whereas Greece massively overperformed with many players that don’t even play in big leagues and the ones that were in big leagues did not even start regularly.
Leif davis got 18 assists with ipswich I really don’t understand why he didn’t take him
As a not England fan, the problem is Southgate. He is honestly not a good manager, he isn't Prem quality, he is barely Championship quality. His tactics are useless and he cannot get some of the most in-from players in the world currently to play. That tells you all you need to know.
There is no way in hell that Southgate would get a Premier League manager job.......... absolutely no chance, not in a million years!
@@gooner72 couldn't agree more, which makes it even more unfathomable why he is still the manager of England. As I said I am not a fan of England at all and I do enjoy the lackluster performances but I simply do not understand how he is still the manager
We need to have some fun, 3-5-2, Pickford. Stones, Guehi, Konsa. Trent (Right mid), Rice, Bellingham (in missed), Mainoo, Palmer (Left), Kane and Bowen/Watkins.
If it weren’t for individual brilliance from Bellingham and Kane England would be home. Not good at all. You’re bang on it again Spencer
Kyle walkers been dismale, its like hes been told to not overlap or something, not using his pace too and that's his best ability and his passing is absolutely awful, our fullbacks have been garbage all tournament, i know he got a sort of assist btw but literally is the one time he got forward and yet again it was a deflection
SPEN DAWGY DAWGY
Partly due to the fans and the media almost demanding that we win this tournament (completely irrationally, I might add) and partly due to Southgate's own playstyles, we are a team that sets out not to lose, rather than trying to win. It's not entertaining, nor is it "The English Way", plus it's utter madness to pick a squad full of some of Europe's (World's?) best attacking players and then tell them not to play the way they are capable.
We don't ever take risks and the players are visibly terrified of making mistakes, so none of them are confident of making runs. We move the ball sideways whenever possible and no one has any options of an out ball, so they hold on to it until they inevitably misplace a pass or get caught in possession. I don't see a way that it can improve, unless someone can find a way to give them the confidence to play the kind of game that we all know they can.
They're great individuals, who have been told not to do what they do best.
I think we need more help in central positions for Kane by either pushing Bellingham up the pitch or giving him a strike partner as when we lump it up the pitch he either doesn't win the header and is nowhere near it or he wins it but no one is there to follow up, this would also mean the wingers dropping a little which I feel would allow overlapping fullbacks, especially in the case of kyle walker and would allow us to have a forward press rather than passing it backwards so often. But as you said it may be an underlying issue unknown to the public
Yes Spencer mate ❤
"It's a horrible job in many ways" lol how so? Southgate is a middling Championship manager at best and he's on millions a year managing this group of talented England players.
He means in the sense of pressure
@@EA-hz9mg not really, the pressure to win the euros has diminished due to his coaching of this ultra talented team. The standards aren't as high as they should be
@@alan96731 bro ppl have us favourites 💀 what r u w
Looking at this squad a team should never in a million years look so horrendous on a football pitch. I really hope something changes and they give us the entertaining football this squad can provide.
Haha why’s it sound like u said Walcott overlapping
Southgate is a relegation championship level manager that has coasted through tournaments due to favourable draws (Sweden, Ukraine, Colombia) and having a golden generation of talent. He has showed zero tactical awareness throughout his time in England is ultimately the reason why they won’t win anything.
For example, playing Trent in midfield when he never attempted this in the QUALIFIERS but thought it would be a good idea to test this in the actual tournament. Trent’s best attribute is balls in behind but he has a front three of Kane, Saka and Foden. All players that like ball to feet and don’t make runs in behind.
Why is Bellingham in the 8 not considered as an option at all?
I think because Southgate refuses to play with only one defensive minded CM, but even if that's the case, a back 3 would negate that risk somewhat
When the England Admired shirt came out, no body liked it they thought it was awfull , football pundits hated it, but i see loads of England fans where them , yourself included, ime after one as well now, its become a classic retro shirt ,, funny how opinions change. 😊

having to force yourself to cling on to the 'brighter side' is called living a life of delusion
The team plays like complete strangers…..which they are ! Much MUCH more pre tournament practice time needed in future…..is the absolute minimum needed
343. Guehi, Stones and Walker DF. Trent, Bellingham, Rice and Saka LW midfield. Palmer, Foden and Kane/Watkins.
Why are people obsessed with Trent. A defender who can’t defend
I've also been saying Saka left wing back since the tournament started. Saka's played there successfully or Arsenal and England.
I'd go 3-4-2-1 with Walker in the back 3, Saka LWB, Trent RWB, Rice and Bellingham central, Foden and Palmer behind Kane.
3-4-3 Would also work. Guehi-Stones-Walker / Saka-Rice-Jude-Trent / Gordon-Kane-Palmer
