Thank you for dropping by! Appreciate the kind words means a lot! 😄
Hey Jen, I feel ashamed to ask even more of you after this literal gold mine you have just dumped on us, but is it too intrusive to ask for the following?
1. Regarding the pinterest search, which search terms do you use, and do you have a strategy to come up with them?
2. How many days do you take in each step? On average of course (Brand Strategy Definition, Moodboarding, Stylescaping, Sketching and Refining) I think this is very important to handle the client's expectation correctly.
You earned yourself a subscriber. Really looking towards your next drops.
No worries Daniel, happy to hear your questions, and thank you for subscribing, welcome to the channel!
To give anwers to your questions:
1. I think you mean visual research with interest search? I usually dive into Pinterest, and search for my visual words and usually add logo design behind that. But also I often find inspiration on the go. Since I am also in my free time just browsing projects etc, I almost always come across something which is useful for the project and drop it on the Pinterest board. And via this pin you can eventually find more of the same style.
2. Around 1/2 days discovery session. 3/4 days brand strategy, moodboarding & stylescape 1 week, sketching and refining also 1/1,5 weeks. In total with presentations it makes around 4 weeks for the logo design.
Hope this was helpful! and thanks again for subscribing and happy to hear you liked this video!
Great video! I love it. Please make more videos like that.
Hi there, thank you for showing love. I will keep creating these in the future! Stay tuned :)
Amazing process. So detailed starting from the strategy all the way to the final presentation.
And I loved how cleverly you combined all the keywords and came up with an optimum design.
Truly Inspired 💯

Maaaaaaaaa'an. This video should not be free 😅🙌❤❤❤
Haha, thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I'm glad you found the video valuable! 😊🧡
@@Typefool Welcome. If you can make a detailed Playlist that will be great ⚡️from scratch to finishing
Yes, I will be dropping more videos about my creative process each might be slightly different but all together they should give a detailed understanding of my process! 😄
@@Typefool ❤
Brillant ❤
Thank you! Glad to hear you like it :)
My only issue is that the smallest variation of the logo looks like an italic serif "N", which might be confusing to some of the end users. I think you should have sticked with the "JOR" logotype. But overall I liked your video and the detailed description of your process. Keep it up.
Thanks for the feedback! I hadn't considered that perspective before. The JR brandmark is specifically for small surfaces. Glad you liked the video and process details! 😊
Wow! Thank you for sharing your process. I'm curious, will you be making a video or have a tutorial on the mockup portion of the case study? I'd be really interested in learning that haha
You are welcome! I'm happy you enjoyed the video. What exactly do you mean by a tutorial on the mockup portion? What would you like to learn? Thanks for sticking around 👊
@@Typefool You might have this as part of the products you sell in the gumroad store. But I'm interested in learning your mockup system to showcase the designs. For example, do you paste your logo in one area and automatically gets updated across different mockups from mobile app, to building sign? - something like that haha
Thanks for the detailed explanation of your question! Well haha I am quite old school with the mockups. I do research to all the mockups I need and which fit the brand and style of the brand. I do it all manually and I don’t work with Libraries in Adobe. But what you said is really a timesaver. I should really dive into this matter and apply it to my workflow hehe.
Interesting
Thank you!
we need a full course on brand identity design
Thank you Amin for sharing your thoughts! That’s interesting I will put this on my to do list! I had a logo design course in mind aswel.
😍🔥 Love
Thank you 🙏🏻 😄
Great video
Thank you! 🙏🏻 😁
If i have more than i like and one subscription i will click it for you man. Thank you so much.
Wow thank you Zainul Abidin for these kind words, that means a lot to me! Glad you liked it 🙌
Hey great video! Do you mind telling the which part of the process take you the most time? Is it logo sketch or research phase or maybe the mood board. I try to figure which part is most crucial if that makes sense 😅 thanks !
Hi! Thank you for stopping by and asking me this question. Well I think I spend the most time in the strategy phase and sketching phase. Having set up a solid strategy helps me set up a moodboard quite quickly! And the sketching although for this fun project I haven’t sketched alot it is usually what I spend the most time one. Because I often find myself getting more unique concepts when working on the sketches and trying different things for several days 😄. Hope this was helpful
❤❤👏🏻👏🏻💥
Thank you! 🧡
It is impressive! Feels a lot of work. How much time do you spend on entire process? Is it days? Or weeks? Or months? :)
Thank you 😄😁. Well usually with a full brand guidelines document it will indeed take approximately 6 weeks! But not fulltime working on it though!
Can you please share your go to places for finding relevant typefaces.
I really do like typewolf to discover fonts! And also I keep an eye on big agency’s and the fonts they’re using and aswel on interesting typefoundries I follow these on instagram or via newsletter’s.
Thank you for this great video. May I ask if you have a video on how you make use of chatgpt to generate the brief and if not, can you kindy make a video on it. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words! Appreciate that 🙏🏻. I don’t have a video about that unfortunately. I simply ask him to write an business profile, target audience, core values, proposition, mission and values, and positioning statment😁 hope this was helpful!
@@Typefool yes, it is. Thank you
TUTORIAL ON HOW U DID THE BACKGROUNDS ? and the social media ?
The backgrounds are created with the gradient tool in Adobe Illustrator :D.
Please do you have videos on how to sketch logos in illustrator
I have a video where I digitize my sketches in Illustrator, I usually sketch on paper en jump into illustrator afterwards.
czcams.com/video/gGQz_OuiTXs/video.html Hopefully this is helpful :D
I’m having issues figuring out the finer details of logo construction and application. Like the thought process behind spacing between the logo mark and the type next to it. How to make sure everything looks balanced. I don’t even want to get into the logo application part. Taking elements of the logo and merging it with visuals and photography in a balanced way is giving me a headache. Everything on my page is looking clunky because it feels I’m not using the “math” aspect to make everything look pro although I have my grid on. I’ve seen plenty of videos on layout using grids, but haven’t seen anyone tackling grids in logo designing - especially when you have type next to it. I also think I’m not kerning my type right and in my effort to make everything look unified, I’m kerning too tight! Help!
Hey there! It sounds like you're tackling some intricate challenges in logo design. Your feedback is incredibly valuable for another video idea I could create a video that addresses these common but often overlooked aspects of logo creation. I'll focus on:
- Explaining the thought process behind spacing between logo elements and typography for better balance.
- Techniques to integrate logos with visual identity.
- Using grids effectively in logo design, especially with typography.
- Tips on kerning type correctly.
Thank you for sharing your insights. I think these are areas many designers struggle with (because I struggled with this myself when I started). I'm excited to create content that will help simplify and clarify these concepts for everyone. Stay tuned for the video I think it'll really resonate with you.
Not sure when i am able to create that video though.
Hey Man! can you give me a ballpark figure for what a branding project like this usually costs?
Hello Ahmed! Well since this is a quite extensive visual brand identity with alot of touchpoints on different facets this would typically cost around €12000-€15000. Just a simple logo design and a basic stylesheet would be €4000-€5000.
Do you sell this exact template?
Hi Daniel, thank you for asking. Yes I sell all these templates in a bundle which you could find here: www.typefool.shop/product/ultimate-brand-identity-design-bundle/
And the specific brand guidelines template I used in this document is this one: www.typefool.shop/?product=branding-guidelines-template-15
Thank you for watching!
2:34 you spelt ‘strength’ incorrectly 🙏
Sharp eye! Thank you for pointing out 🙏🏻
I stopped watching when saw the brand personality section represented by.. SLIDERS?????
Okay... 😂 I use more exercises to figure out the tone of voice in my brand discovery brief. But anyway what would you suggest?
Moin from Germany! great video, I already saw it on Instagram but back then I didn't know your account. Do you plan to make a Logo Animation Tutorial like the one seen on Instagram? I would love to see it. Also, there is really no great tutorial out there, you might fill a great gap. Greetings :)
Hi neighbour, Thanks for stopping by! Greetings from the Netherlands here ;). The logo animation is done by Sam Miles. So I can't create any tutorial on that I'm sorry!
I’m loving this🥹
Thanks Calvin, happy to hear that!
