I used to love going to Sears as a kid, they used to be my favorite store right up until their Canadian division got shut down, and our only choice is now Walmart
Oh hey!
Didn't know you watched wallie's vids
@@Thatsmashguy27 hey :)
@Stelloo i am in canada too
Sadly that's Also the only place around here where I live and I absolutely HATE wal-FART .
Happy Valentines Day Wallie Hope you enjoyed Abandoned Sears Video.
Thanks for sharing this video tour. I grew up not far from the Colonial Park Mall and remember when this Sears was a vibrant place. This Mall was the center of our community's life back then. My Mom worked at Rea & Derrick's Drugs when it was the Colonial Park Plaza, an open air shopping arcade. My brother worked at Italian Delight through his High School years, which was a pizza and pasta restaurant on the Sears end of the Mall.
The tilework throughout the Mall was installed in 1985, during the Boscov's expansion. The Food Court was originally a standalone Woolworth's Department store, where we often shopped. The Mall is somewhat "ad-hoc" architecturally, but it served as the backdrop to so many stories. My family's--and my own--were just one of them.
Wish we could back in time whenever everything was better. 😮 Now it's depressing.
My father was a mechanic for Dodge for 37 years. I've been around cars all my life. When I graduated High school in 1985, sears Auto Center was my first job. I worked there a little over a year. I left because the manager's business practices didn't go with mine.
I would have a car on the lift, and he would come over, take off a front tire and instruct me to tell them they needed brakes when the pads and rotors had very little wear. He did that on a lot of things. Belts, brakes, tires, lots of things. I told him I wouldn't want that done to me so I'm not going to do that. So my service was no longer required. Shortly after, I started working at a local garage, and I told everyone how Sears Auto Center operated. So it didn't bother me one bit to see my local shop go.
I'm sure not all were like that, but the one I worked at was.
This mall used to be the place to go to especially during the holidays. I used to go to the arcade and movie theater with some friends. I relocated to Texas years ago but visited here about a year back. Was sad to see how this place and east mall turned into a complete ghost town. Seems like covid really impacted all the stores and places that were there.
Mall is barely hanging on. You’ll be back when the mall closes I think.
Love your videos
I enjoy all these abandoned videos. It's interesting that only one window was knocked out on one of the doors but the rest were intact.
There is an abandoned sears at Woodbridge mall in Woodbridge New Jersey that you should come down and explore.
I had a honor to check out an abandoned used car dealership with garage. It was missing the front entrance door, so I took the opportunity to go in and snap pictures and explore. The building is now being renovated and converted into some type of store. If your wondering, Yes I left the place as it was and left nothing behind except my footprint
A great video, Wallie! I miss shopping in Sears, KMART, Hills and Ames. They were great stores. Take care, Alan.
The Salahn at Bahn Tahn! Saying it like Pittsburgh Dad! Happy Belated Valentine's Day! Congratulations to you and Kate! Much happiness!
I need to do a video of the abandoned Sears Auto center here at Spokane valley Mall we still have a few pretty cool features of our Sears at valley Mall even the plaque on the wall
I miss Sears ):
In my area in Fayette County Pa there are 2 Sears Roebuck houses still being lived in from the early 1900's just right up the road from where I live and now no more Sears anything in my area!!!!!
HARRISBURG PA IS MY BIRTH CITY & I WAS A SEARS SHOPPER BACK IN THE DAY 😊 I NO LONGER RESIDE IN PA BUT IT IS HARD SEEING SO MANY BUSINESS PLACES FALLING APART 😢 THANK YOU FOR SHARING 🌟
There is one at the Asheville Mall, near the closed 2 story Sears., also was a Budget truck, car rental place. 😀
So happy for you and Kate! You look better than you have in a long time. I can tell how happy you are ! Congrats!
Colonial Park Sears Auto Center also was a training location for Sears employees. The building had a basement where all the training took place.
I grew up at that Sears .
The other building at the rear corner was Sears large truck service
Thanks for sharing this video for us wallie your a good friend to us buddy :D
I have been wondering if Kate is ever gonna show her face on camera? Just wondering. Btw ur the best CZcamsr for this type of stuff! You made me happy. 😊
Love your vids Wallie
My local Sears reopened (Union Gap, WA). They’re obviously not using the attached auto center. However, where the counter and waiting area was, they have holiday decorations for sale. The shop space itself is pretty much entirely empty from the little interior window that wasn’t covered.
Love these Videos Wallie! If you ever get into the Connecticut area in your travels, I recommend going to Enfield Square Mall. Only one anchor remains and 3 others sit vacant. It's basically dead. Have a nice day!
5th Street Hwy in Reading has a lot of empties too.
There's lots of room for Pickleball in those stores!
Like the video you put out, I humor myself by going to Google map and see the location and look through the timeliness of the location you've been at. Hope you get to feeling better soon, I was under the weather myself for a few weeks from a nasty sinus infection i got better but during that time I felt like crap". Suggestion for you, depending on. The location and time, you should revisit some locations you visited. And some just for laughs.
yeah its sad to see how many maintenance bays and jobs were lost
Colonial Park mall is in serious financial difficulty. At least if it goes under Boscov's will still be there as they own their stores building.
If Wallie and "Fast" Eddie Lampert were to come face to face, oh man.
Strange thing is that Sears .some k Mart and JC penny had auto Center's from back in the. day
Hey Willie! Next time your in Minnesota, thee is a abandon BIG K! It’s in st.paul Mn and off of Maryland drive I believe! It closed in 2019 in September or October if I’m not wrong! Thanks Wallie!
Harrisburg Mall is closing as well
Are you going to check out that other building that was opposite of the auto care center?
Nice video.
Sears (:
They tore ours down and is now becoming a giant mobile station
Come to winchesterthe Sears here still standing, so is the Montgomery. Wards. But the Montgomery wards We'll be getting torn down soon.
I got question, are you going to do revist and do video on that big sears building?
Firestone Complete Auto Care brought our Sears Auto care building in January and are moving in JUne
What put the final nail in yhe coffin was thia on line purchasing! Plus this new generation doesn't give a dam about losing these stores! and this on line purchasing is a new fad that will eventually go away but in the meantime us older people that grew up and witnessing all the great memories of the old stores will be greatly missed. Also I'm sure with some ingenuity and some of the really sharp people out there they could of reorganized and be brought up to todays standards.
My local former Sears. I live 15 min from there. The Harrisburg Mall is officially closed
congratulations with 600 likes nice video
Good video! I miss both Sears and Kmart!

My seers auto center is now a building, dedicated to promoting a furniture store 😢
Happy Valentines Day Wall!!!
Great work Wally
The building in the back used to be the truck service center. On the end of the auto center used to be a jiffy lube.
I haven't checked out your channel yet but if you posted this just a day ago then you most likely also went to the Harrisburg Mall a few miles down the highway.
The building in the back was Sears Truck Tires for 18 wheelers
Eddie for prison!
Check out the old Kmart in Platteville Wisconsin now it’s a U-Haul center
As always great video 👍
Oh that’s really cool nice video
This Sears had been open since 1960.
Awesome video.
Sorry to hear you caught curonah. I'm sure that's not fun.
Cool video
I had bronchitis and a sinus infection back in January it wasn't covid but I'm telling you I'm still not 100 percent yet I'm probably about 80 percent better and when you have asmah it made it worse
Fast Eddie all time king of nickel and dimeing!!
Again, it upsets me when a huge building takes up a big chunk of nature and then leaves it. Feel sorry for wildlife.
There is a abandoned edgewood restaurant in Crossville tn closed in 2023 owner died check it out
That's probably a underground thing
they must had a pit in the ground as i see something going under the ground.
It's becoming more and more likely that there will be no Sears or Kmart locations in 2025.
I didn't realize you were engaged to Kate! Congrats!
THERE'S K-MART'S THAT ARE STILL OPEN ?!?!?!
WWWHHHEEERRREEE I LOVE AND MISS K-MART ?!?!?!?!
