Anwar Says Malaysia Will Cut Fuel Subsidies at 'Right Time'

- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reiterated the need to cut wasteful spending, including reducing excess subsidies to trim government debt levels, while stopping short of committing a timeline to do away with fuel concessions. “I concede that things need to be done, but it needs to be done judiciously,” he told Bloomberg Television’s Haslinda Amin at the Qatar Economic Forum.

The best solution for fuel subsidy is quota system. Commercial diesel don’t touch. Just implement individual quota for both diesel and petrol. B40 won’t able to finish even with the quota given. For example, 150L in a month. Those who drive alphard pump 2 tong quota finish. However, those who drive myvi can sustain 4 tong of full tank. QUOTA finish then he/she need to pay market price. This also prevent leakage subsidy oil to thailand and indonesia..

Subsidy rationalization does not benefit the rakyat it benefit govt and minister to swindle more money, it suppose to save 4 billion and that 4 billion will be channel to bumiputera projects. Last SST hike 6% to 8% save 2 billion and that money goes to bumiputera entrepreneurship announce during bumiputera congress, all Anwar steps are to benefit majority bumiputera not other communities.We don't trust Anwar his track record to save few billion just to feed particular Malay race , he actually don't bothered about other community who paying the taxes.
