Small trivia: Characters in the VOD is an actual In Universe rock band (Called AUS or Alive Until Sunset, highly inspired by rock bands from 2000s) which performed this song during "Gavial and the Great Chief returns" Side story Event. In game, intrumental version of this song plays during events Boss Battle (The boss is literally giant robot with cannon and saw arm assembled out of scraps and wood).
Long story short, this bands car died in middle of desert during moving to the next concert location so AUS had to go on their foot and they ended up meeting with a tribe of lizard people far from modern society. They didn't had any choise but to move to their camp for a while and live there. Thankfully they found messenger post nearby so they didn't stuck here for eternity. Until rescue comes to them AUS greet that tribe with rock music which apperantly moved those lizard people insane just cause of how cool rock music was sounding for them, commenting it by "Im feeling like im wanna fight someone as hard as i can!", "Feels like im energized again!" and something like that. Locals asked for AUS to stay (just like their fans in modern part of their world) but those 4 quickly found a solution by recording everything and keeping it for them with device to play these in pair with some equipment for setting up mini stage with speakers, mics and lights.
Then AUS unnoticibly left the tribe and now those lizard people live with rock music playing nearly all day, especially during fights and competitions. They even redesigned their local temple to set speakers and lights up with all the wiring. After a while they even ordered more speakers to their temple through rare people in their tribe who was able to communicate with people from modern part of the world.
Fun fact, that is not the main part of this events story.

Fun fact:
The in-game band who sings this song got lost in a rainforest on a the way to a gig and the natives loved their music so much they begged them to stay and do an extended tour. They agreed and stayed for 2 months performing for the native tribes. Their music was so beloved it single-handedly got the entire tribe interested in the outside world and progressing to the modern technological age.

No need to worry about always praising the song! As an arknights fan I just want more people like you to experience and give the soundtrack a shot, but whether you like the songs or not really depends on your tastes. In fact, id much rather hear your honest thoughts!
I'll never be one to sugarcoat, but even my response to this song was exactly how i felt. Still good, but not the best I've heard to date. If i run into one i legitimately don't like, you'll know 😋
Ever since its release like 2 years ago, Alive has always been one of my favourite songs to cone out of Arknights. Nice to see you cover it on here

Cool thing about the in-universe band playing this song:
"Alive Until Sunset" is a tribute to the late Chester Bennington (of Linkin Park) and his side project "Dead by Sunrise".
AUS is also known for "keeping their lyrics completely clean" in-game, which is a nod to LP's earlier albums.
During the calm section of the song, you can even see a poster next to the stack of TVs which is a direct reference to their Live in Texas album!
This song grew on me after hearing the instrumental ver in game. Yeah it's been around 2 years ago and you heard mostly new songs so it's understandable.
Yeah, visuals are not the strongest part of this clip. There are just there, and they are just.. moving. Not playing.
Granted, it one of the earliest Arknights songs.
(Her eyes makes feel uncomfortable as well. But that is kinda how it should be. They are not even a humans to begin with).
In "Rock the Night Away" music video they actually attempted to animate play on the instruments.

Yeah I feel like around this time they really upped their music. Probably because they were drawing in enough money to further invest into their music.

IMO it should be, these aren't average musicians anyway (like literally) XD
this was one of my "least" favorites in the beginning too though it did grow on me especially because of vocals and lyrics
plus they are a special case - kind of - cause they are ingame characters and ingame a band too and not just animations for the video like with most other songs and with this being one their "actual" songs ingame so it is tied to their lore too where they are from, the label they work for now etc and ghere story/lore runs deep
so it is from one side music written for another world and from the other kind of a special case for the players knowing them from the time they first appeared in (event)stories...
...started playing after their first time though iirc they added a vote to that event where you could choose out of three musicians/groups that appeared in the music festival of the event story to get some customized music related furniture depending on whom you choosed
maybe someone suggested already one of the other two to listen to
("DDD"s bgm track from the event is still one of my prrdonal favorites to have running in the back)

Remember when I recommend you to try "Aflame Avenue"? This band, Alive Until Sunset or AUS, is basically a band inside the Universe in Arknights. Beside "Alive", "Aflame Avenue" is also one of their album (or song).

The band have some theories about them like how they arent 'normal' in the arknights world of Terra. But I mean there is a group of sea people named the Abyssal Hunters who just have white hair and red eyes. This song is an old one and the concert did sort of an animation change for this song where the singer sang to the music (as her lips moved to the lyrics)
They were confirmed to be minor deities like Nian or Kjera in the Stultifera Navis event

Never forget that AUS is literally an eldritch horror split into four cute girls interested in making music.
I can sort of tell where you're coming from since this song had to slowly grew on me, but yeah it still is pretty solid for one of Arknights much older songs. For me personally, I think the EP song "Rock the Night Away" from Arknights is more fun and has that 2000s rock vibe, hoping you'd check that one out. For a song that will subvert your expectations, I recommend "Standchen", its fairly popular in the community for its twist and how angsty it is.

Hey Catharsis, I would highly reccomend you to react to Dokkan Battle osts. All of them are shorts like 1 minute and around 10 to 20 seconds (then it loops back to the verse) but most if not all are banger.
Most Dokkan osts format are Intro> Verse> Chorus> Bridge and then back to Verse
