- America is not Italy; on that much hopefully we can all agree. But this sad fact doesn't mean that America isn't full of Italian food. One of the most cherished culinary traditions of the 50 states, every town has at least one Italian restaurant, and your mom, at the very least, probably made spaghetti once in awhile. However! Despite Italian food being available, not all of this food is great. For the best of all Italian restaurants, we have to look at a rarified class of eateries, often designated by Michelin stars, James Beard awards, and the like. This is where to find the absolute best Italian food in the U.S.

What is your favorite Italian dish?
Lasanha 👍🍻
I suppose 90 percent of "italian" dishes in Us are not italian at all...
@@tizioincognito5731 not true
eggplant parmesan with Italian sausages on the side
@@porkbelly0713 not true? Lol... 🤣
The former owner of Battista's Hole-in-the-wall Las Vegas, would break out into Opera's at the table with a beautiful Tenor voice.
My friend and I found Battista's in Vegas several years ago...amazing! (And I'm from CT and married an Italian!)
Olive Garden is the McDonalds of Italian food
So profound
Sad that not a single one is in
Baltimore’s Little Italy district.
Amazing isn't it!!
The best Italian American food I have had was in Rhode Island, hands down!
SPQR serves not a dish featuring garum nor asafoetida? I call bullshit.
Nobody had their hands up.
some of the best italian food i’ve had has been in those little hole in the wall, mom and pop places.
Ermillio’s in Eureka Springs, AR is fantastic and deserves a place on this list.
Carrabba's
A good Spaghetti Bolognese. My fave italian restaurant was Pizza Palace which closed 1985 Las Vegas. And Nobody made italian homeade like Pizza Palace. Haven't found anything as good as a plate of Sketty, Sausage Pizza as good as Pizza Palace. And I've eaten good Italian food in many cities. Guy Fieri would of gone there. I don't like some joints. But the Palace was the best.
@10:12...SPQR is not an acronym. It is an abbreviation. An acronym is a word, such as 'scuba' (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) or the first acronym, POTUS (President of the United States), made up of the first letters of the full name. Many NASA missions are acronyms. NORAD is an acronym because you speak it as a word. Laser is an acronym (the proof is left to the reader). There are many acronyms.
Abbreviations are simply the letters, not a word itself, like 'FBI' or 'CIA' or 'SPQR'.
i love "the mexican pizza" created by "del taco"
When I'm served a plate of food and I can see more than 90% of the plate, I don't care how good your food is. You're probably charging way too much for far too little food under the guise of being cultured.
mashed, you're so wonderful yet so awful for me to decide to watch while drinking
but still,
😋😋😋
Olive garden Number 1!
Best pizza in Maryland, Is LEDO.
I haven't been there. It's on my list based on their reputation.
Pasta e Olio !
The only one of these I've eaten at is Battista's in Las Vegas, and while it was fine, I'll put it up against my two Atlanta-area favorites: Sugo Kitchen in Johns Creek and Modena Ristorante Vinoteca in Marietta. Oddly, though I've lived here for years, I've never heard of St. Cecilia and have never seen it advertised or reviewed. Frankly, most of these places are WAY too expensive for my tastes. I eat at a lot of places where I can get a very satisfying meal for $30, so why pay $150 or more? I don't care how good the food is, that is ridiculous.
Demos in Tennessee
Luca Cucina Berkeley CA
If you really want to be disappointed try Italian food in Italy, what most people think of Italian food here is our own version of it and not authentic but it's what we're used to. In Italy it's nothing special due to that, pasta is an appetizer for example and not in most dishes except in tourist areas.
Absolutely correct!
You apparently didn’t eat at good places. The food I had in Italy last time was outstanding. Sooty the didn’t have spaghetti and meatballs for you, BTW it’s an American creation🙄
@@nancyenkelmann7801 Maybe I have higher standards, I save the big money for France which is worlds apart in every way, traditional Italian is basic and boring and I would never order spaghetti and meatballs.
@@kellykorte2981 please, dont talk about things you do not know.
Pasta an "appetizer"‽ please, shut up.
None r close to where I live .....
I call BS! Apparently no one to fly over country. St. Louis has some of the best Italian food in the country. We all see your biases
Especially in the Hill District.
So I have heard Nancy!
Best Pizza is in AZ. Pizzeria Bianco is amazing! Get the Rosa. Thank me later!
I’ve had people from all over the country try the pizza. They agree it’s better than anything they have tried before.
Papa Leone's in Lake Havasu is very good too.
SPQR = senatus populusque romanum = to the senate and the Roman people ;)
Any list of best Italian restaurants that doesn't include Olive Garden is rubbish.
OLIVE GARDEN is very good for moderately priced dinners; but once you taste food from TOP Italian Restaurants, there is no contest.
Olive garden is an insult to our culinary culture
If you want to eat good italian food in us you have to go to the airport, take a fly and reach italy. And please, do not call silly american invention like "chicken parm" italian because here in italy nobody eats that crap
Italian food in Argentina is as good as anything you can get in Italy.
@@rockyracoon3233 in your dreams
@@tizioincognito5731 . Ha, Argentina is more Italian than Italy these days.😄
@@rockyracoon3233 never been in italy i suppose.
In Argentina they eat american garbage
@@tizioincognito5731 Okay, Tizio. We've heard you. We're all stupid and unsophisticated. I loved my mother's lasagna, but she was American and not of Italian descent so I guess you would have insulted her. You don't have any friends, do you?
California is not Italian inspired or not
chicken Alfredo is not Italian
Please PLEASE don't eat veal!
The fucking ads

Italian Dennys......
