5:05 It's great to see the Paramount logo again at the end of the movie after many years.

Believe me, I wanted THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1956) to be completely restored to its original Paramount Release with its VistaVision logo as well as it was presented on the original Blu-ray Disc, except the 1983 "UNIVERSAL An MCA Company" logo was still appearing at the ending scene of the movie without Paramount. Remember, it made more sense that Mr. Hitchcock was working at the Paramount Studios for a number of his movie projects for Paramount. However, after Mr. Hitchcock moved to Universal Studios after completing his last Paramount film PSYCHO (1960), he spend his remaining years working at UNIVERSAL while he established his real estate there. While Paramount still had the distribution rights to Mr. Hitchcock's 50s movie collection, one of them were re-released from 1963 until 1968 when Hitchcock finally bought his movies from Paramount except for TO CATCH A THIEF (1955) to keep ownership of the films without being distributed in theaters or on television for many years until his death in 1980. By the year 1983, UNIVERSAL decided to re-release the Alfred Hitchcock movies for the first time in 15 years back into film theaters for movie goers, unfortunately the Paramount Release logos were removed from each of the movies and replacing them with the "UNIVERSAL An MCA Company" logo as the new studio owner. So from LASERDISC to VHS and DVD releases of THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1956), the Paramount Release logo would never appear on each Universal Home Video format until the 2013 Blu-ray release would allow the PARAMOUNT logo to shown once again as the film should've been restored and remastered!
So now, I want this movie presented as...
      A PARAMOUNT RELEASE
      IN
      VISTAVISION
"THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH"
      THE END
      A PARAMOUNT RELEASE

You have a 4K HDTV and a 4K player, right? Because the Blu-ray is the old master; only the 4K disc in the package is the new restoration. I’m working on making a comparison video from Laserdisc to DVD to Blu-ray to 4K now.

Wow this looks amazing. I'm getting the impression that in addition to Carl Barks' Donald Duck stories, Lucas and Spielberg were "inspired" by this movie for Indiana Jones as well...

Robert Harris! I’m not always enthusiastic about Universal restorations, but if he was involved, I’ve got to see it!

You’ll need a 4K player and the 4K disc to see it as the Blu-ray bundled with this release does NOT have the restored version.

Not all Universal's restorations are awesome, but their track record in the UHD era is pretty good. Among the major studios, I say that they are only behind Sony.
Regarding Hitchcock's restorations, Universal's UHDs look spectacular, at least when the source is good (The Birds and Marnie have plenty of opticals that are never gonna look great, while Rear Window looks great 80% of the time or so, but the image takes a huge hit in quality whenever it goes to the dupes that were used replace parts of the original negative that had degraded beyond repair, sadly). Vertigo, Psycho, Shadow Of A Doubt and The Trouble With Harry are probably the stand-out UHDs from the first two volumes. But Saboteur also has an awesome transfer (though the camera focus is often very soft, no fault of transfer), and Family Plot looks so insanely better than the horrid old blu-ray. Perhaps the best example of how Universal's standards changed with the UHD era, it's like they are another studio in comparison to their blu-ray days.

@@matheus5230My main issue with Universal is their habit of crushing shadow detail. Some parts of 8 Mile are so bad that 80% of the image is pure black. The tendency pops up in pretty much all of their restorations, but that’s the worst I’ve seen it. I also hate that they don’t include Dolby Vision on most catalog releases, but that’s not the fault of the restoration itself.

Have every Hitchcock put out on 4k so far. I know the rights are likely an issue but we need north by northwest at some point.

NBN is property of Warner and there eagerness of putting out catalogue titles on 4k is very limited.
