Who remembers the magic of a PlayStation Demo Disc? I do. The UK never had access to PlayStation Underground, which was a virtual magazine series in the US that shipped a brand new PS1 demo to you every quarter of the year from a subscription - but we DID have access to the monthly Official UK PlayStation Magazine - or OPM. This series of magazines bundled in an exclusive UK PS1 demo disc every month with the latest games, trailers and exclusive behind-the-scenes video footage at a low price. You also got some brilliant examples of a ps1 demo disc menu and even the best ever ps1 demo disc music - seriously, the soundtrack for these demos was insane. So much nostalgia. I even take a brief look at the XBOX Exhibition discs and even the OPS2M demo discs - or more accurately, the Official UK PlayStation 2 demo discs. Yeah, it eventually transitioned into a official PS2 magazine demo disc and then eventually onto an official UK PS3 demo disc, but we’re getting way ahead of ourselves. I miss demos. Did anyone check out the MediEvil PS4 demo? From the MediEvil PS4 trailer? I even did a MediEvil remake review that you can see on the card in the video. You know, it you really want to see a slightly older MediEvil PS4 review. Anyway, as I said at the start of this demo disc video description, this video took me a LONG time to make. 12 hours of footage and over 200 individual trailer/gameplay demos I recorded, and here we are with a MASSIVE 32 minute review about the brilliance of PS Demo Discs. Hope you enjoy it, it surely was a journey for me. Get ready for my video about the disgusting world of video game magazines from PlayStation very soon!

Fun fact: The demo of Crash Bash that was included on some of these demo discs actually includes the ENTIRE game, hidden via a secret menu accessible with a special button combination. Luckily for the developers, this fact wasn't discovered until years later.

I apparently have a rare PlayStation demo disc from Toys "R" Us. Seeing as it's a remnant from one of the most nostalgic places from my childhood; I had to get it when I saw it at the Thrift Store.

Yeah it was one of those few honest mistakes that never shouldn’t happen.
There's a Guru Larry video about examples of that.
It's true, it did. In fact, if you accessed Crash Bash through Spyro 3, and then input the cheat code, you basically got 90% of the game, minus the final world's levels, if I recall.
Fun fact, you get Homer and Bart's portraits in the Space Fox level in that build.

When I played the demo for Intelligent Qube I always thought that there wouldn't be any music at all in the final release and it would be like a horror-esque puzzler, hell when I eventually did play the final release I was kind of actually a bit disappointed to hear there was music and you're not just in a void with cubes coming at you wanting to feckin' CRUSH you...

The Demo 1 that came with the PS1 changed over time. Mine is one of the really early ones with playable demos of Destruction Derby, Loaded, Toshinden, and Wipeout. Also have videos of the original Tekken, and warhawk among others.

I Think my Demo 1 Disc had Tekken and Gran Turismo, I had the European Version with the Orange Sleeve! it came with the System My Sister Bought. Memories!
I have the purple one with crash 3, midevil, a trailer for rugrats and wild 9. Wild 9 was badass.

Yo, Caddy, thank you so much. The clip you showed at 19:00 was of a game I've been trying to track down for 17 years. Played an arcade cabinet version of it on holiday at a video store in a beachside town and never forgot the experience, only the title; Bloody Roar
This is just what I needed. It's a portal of nostalgia. It hit me hard in my memory box. Thank you so much for your work and effort in making this video. It feels like everything after 2001 never happened. I need to get my Playstation 1 back and uncover the happy memories of sitting up all night playing demos after demos and eating dinner leftovers.
I even skipped school just to play Metal Gear Solid, Tank Racer, Max Power Racing and Rugrats in the morning. Oh, and the Area 51 level of Tomb Raider 3, Future Cop, Wreckin' Crew, Rollcage and Colony Wars on Demo 39. So many memories. I also got scared when I played the Dino Crisis demo on Demo 51. Okay, Ebay.. Here we go!

I remember these from my childhood, these were very much a thing in Finland too and you’d find these demo discs attached to gaming magazines here too. Some of my friends had pretty much all of these PS1 demos and we experienced plenty of different games through these, some very weird and obscure ones too

Just subbed love demo discs with ps mags you just brought back a memory of dave mirra freestyle bmx the demo allowed you to play inside section of Woodward Park a friend discovered if you tyre tapped a certain part of the wall and leaned in on it you'd go through the wall allowing you access to the outside area of the park just awesome thanks for the memories thank you for the great content
