What you will need in order to make your own Cannabis oil are the following: Cannabis or hemp plant material (dried and shredded), glass bowls, plastic spoon, alcohol (over 60% pure), Sieve, coffee machine, several Coffee filters (depending on how much material you have to process), water distiller or rice cooker or pan and hot plate
paperclip, cigarette lighter.
Make your own Cannabis oil at home, EASILY by following few easy steps. The first step consists of putting the cannabis plant material into a bowl and covering it with cold alcohol. Next, you will need to stir for three minutes with the plastic spoon and then sieve the mixture into another bowl. Then, filter the mixture through a coffee filter and distil the liquid until 80% of the alcohol volume has gone. If you use a rice cooker or hot plate to evaporate the alcohol, it is better to do this outside. Don't forget however that the fumes are very flammable and could explode. Afterward, pour the remaining liquid into a small bowl and make sure you heat on the coffee machine hot plate for 24 hours in order to remove the remaining alcohol. The final step is to take a paperclip, dip it in the oil and try lighting it with a flame. If a spark occurs there is still alcohol left so you should place it back on the coffee machine for a few more hours.
If you would like to store the oil, draw it up into a medical syringe and keep it in your fridge.

A three part stainless steel double boiler works very well too, you reclaim about 75%. Pairing it with an induction stove to prevent sparks is also a good idea. To be certain to purge the solvent I like to place the reduction in an oven safe dish and bake at 230F for 3 hours. When the oil stops producing bubbles it's both purged and decarboxylate.

Is there still going to be THC in the oil?even tho you didn't initially decarb the buds there is still a heating process, does the release THC?
I think As long as the temp stays below a certain level, the thc doesn't burn off. That's what I've deduced so far. I'm sure this guy could correct me.
Cannabis that is less than 0.3% THC is considered to be industrial hemp and will have a higher concentration of CBD instead. It's not from a recreational or medical marijuana strain. I'm looking into a license for hemp and want to produce my own CBD oil from it.
decarb your bud before doing this process. Grind spread on foil and put in at 220 for about 50-70 don't allow it to get overly browned. Allow it to cool before moving to the next step.

I was going to ask the same question. decarboxylation is not mentioned in the video and to my understanding is a key to convert THC A into THC. I've seen 110° c would be the right temperature for about 1hr ?.

I understand a rice cooker gets hot enough to decarb. But if you use a water distiller, will you need to decarb prior ? I don't think the water distiller gets as hot as the rice cooker. Also is there a benefit in freezing the bud before you mix with alcohol ?
Is the oil decarbed when its in the distiller? If not, how is it being decarbed?
One thing everyone seems to skip is how to effectively transfer your end product (RSO or what have you..) from bowl/pan/etc to something a little more viable for dosing etc (e.g. syringe). Obviously the end product is super concentrated and I find there is a fair amount that gets wasted as it "sticks" to surfaces etc. Anyone have an idea on how to do this? I am thinking some sort of syringe that is heat resistance that you could evaporate the ethanol off in and then you would be left with your concentrate all ready to go in the syringe.
Good question, there would be some that would remain in the container at the end that you would have to use from there, but using a syringe it would be relatively easy to suck up majority of the end result for easier dosing
you can pull it up in a syringe. And what is stuck to the bowl itself, if you add coconut fat you can use it in that format or scrape it on to a smoking paper, assuming you smoke it at some point.
I have a very small bottlesystem with a pull-up syringe, I got it from a vet when my cat needed medication. It works perfectly. I keep filling it fromout a bigger bottle. When it's done yes there is some 'waste' sticking to the inside of the bottles and the filling syringe but I use that for making tea. just pour or pull-up small amounts of hot-not-boiling water in until the bottle is clean, mix with fat milk or some butter and eventually some other tea.
Lick it out of the bowl…problem solved.

Abhishek N not really. Ethanol is just home made moonshine. Ever clear alcohol works great too. It’s a 180 percent alcohol also which makes it better to use.

If you use plant material with high levels of THC, then yes you can replicate this process to produce a THC rich extract. We do not recommend vaping oils

Looks like 60% it said in the video. Also if you let it seep you get resin and other stuff extracted as well which probably won't matter if you are eating it but it will matter if you vape it
In the first 90 seconds you get almost 80 to 90% of cannabinoids, if you let it sit more time, as alcohol loses its polarity while getting closer to ambient temperature it will extract other stuff like chlorophyll that will make your extraction dark and bitter.

Thank you for the great video! Questions: in the video it states I can use the distilled ethanol over and over. How many times is the reuse of the distilled ethanol recommended? Also, how do I know when the ethanol/cannabis mixture is at 80% inside the distiller? I have done this twice and I accidentally allowed the distiller to go to long resulting in slightly burning the oil or in burning off almost 100% of the alcohol. Thanks in advance!
Around 3 or 4 times should be fine, and the only way to check is to carefully open the distiller, and check on the process

You should buy hemp. In Switzerland there is a product called Sweed which is only CBD And tastes like the good stuff in the states. but if you’re in the states you should be buying hemp or going to a dispensary.

I dont see why not my son did try to smoke the ones that was mouldy after it was dry it was stronger than the plain one , also we decarboxylate the plant before making oil we been doing it now for almost 5 years and never had a problem the oil is so good that even the CBD oil cured my cats nose from cancer CBD tends to be very good on skin matters my sons girl friend had a third degree oil burn on her arm and that was literally gone in one weeks treatment with CBD cream , she could not tell her specialist because it is still illegal in our country and if you do use it they chuck you out the hospital, the decarboxylated plants are stronger in value for smoking medically for pain , and does not have the "high" effect

We can't advise you regarding the mould as our plants don't have it, so we have never had to encounter this issue before and don't feel comfortable advising on a topic we ourselves are unsure about
In theory, the alcohol should kill most mould so it should be ok to consume but I definitely wouldn't be smoking it

+Gautam Samy percentages are not important. what is important is the amount of cbd mg you are ingesting. you can make it in various ways or buy it legally online many places. altho for stage 4 you want thc with it

Marc, It's less if you grow it yourself. Street value here in CA for a lb is about 3,000.00. If you have a cancer or other major illness you will need to take a gram per day through out the day (rice grain size) using the remainder an hour before bed. (6 weeks) 1 lb makes about (6) 10 ml syringes which is what you will need for a full recovery. Also depends if you are getting a high CBD cannabis, recommended is minimum 20% CBD. If you never taken cannabis before always start with 1/2 a gram through out the day, maybe 1/2 grain size or a grain size every night for the 1st week & work your way up to a gram. Skin issues or skin cancer, just put a dab on area and but a bandaid on it. As per Rick Simpson says should be gone within 4-7 days. Looks like their prices here are good. I've paid up to 400.00 for (1 )10 ml syringe here in San Diego, CA. Hope this helped :) Blessings with your healing journey........

How do you clean the distiller after using it for sticky rso. I need it to be squeaky clean/still usable so I do not introduce ppm to future distillations
don't let the alcohol evaporate completely. leaving 20% to be able to get it out the distiller, then the remaining 20% is evaporated on the heat pad.

if use a vacuum chamber it lowers the boiling point so you can evaporate at much lighter temperature

Because ethanol is actually the safest, and its for human consumption. You need to use food grade materials. While isopropyl is LESS dangerous than for example methanol but it is still not for human consumption

ethanol is not only safe it extracts much better than iso..iso is really not the right thing to use,damages the liver in tiny amounts

We do not make vape cartridges, and do not recommend vaping CBD oil as our lungs are not built to inhale oil and can cause a condition cause lipid pneumonia. If you want to vape, use CBD crystals :)

Ever clear contains some sugars and other additives, like many alcoholic drinks so ideally you would want something as pure as possible for extraction.

Hey Kevin, we know a lot of people that mix our crystals with their THC flowers and send back glowing reports of how balanced they feel it makes their cannabis flowers, researchers have found CBD balances out the effects of THC so the effect is completely different when you add CBD to your THC flowers. Would the cannabanoids like CBDa and THCa be activated to CBD or THC from the alchohol contact for 3 minutes?
what is the "other stuff" you don't want if you leave it longer than 3 minutes? I leaver it for 1 hour never had trouble??
I love how he rented a lab for the video but basically used household items to make the oil.
The lab wasn't rented, its ours, but yep household items so people can make it at home! If we showed you our method, no one would be able to reproduce it without a heavy investment haha

Do you take out the filter from the water distiller to do this.

Depends on the amount of cannabinoids in your final product, which can never be known for sure without lab reports, however generally speaking no dilution is necessary
Hi Henry, thanks for the video. Was the heat in this whole process enough to decarb the oil or do you still need to decarb after the coffee machine?
The heat from the distiller should de-carb the greens, I hear 150 for 30 mins does the job of de carbing, or if your worried do it in your oven 160 for 35 mins then follow his process, dont see why it wouldn't work same ways.

@@josephmarshall5896 Yes agreed, but then the RSO is super concentrated compared to the infused oil.
@@goal7779 true say its pure concentrate, it's good for dabbing etc & all other methods of using it however you still have many people using it in a carrier of some description. It's also a question of how much herb you have handy to use on your infusion, a mate of mine used the solid coco oil couple days back and that infusion is truly destructive..mine will be made up tommorow. Il let you know how I get on as il be using both methods..👍🏻

I think RSO and this oil are different. RSO is for eating and connot be smoked while this is smokeable.
Silo 101 why can’t RSO be smoked , I occasionally put a bit at the top of my splif , I wouldn’t advise vaping it tho

coffee pot works better ... and overnight soak of the organics in the alcohol ... works even better ... and yeah use a good drinking alcohol in place of ethanol and you get that flavour as well and dont have as much crap to worry about as with ethanol ...

When you say place on the heating device of the coffee maker it looks like the place that keeps the pot of coffee warm. Is that what you are referring to?
with this method, do i need to decarboxylate the raw material? or will it decarboxylate during the purging process when you heat up the alcohol/cannabis extracts?
Will decarboxylate enough during the extraction process :) we don't believe in full decarboxylation as we like to have other trace cannabinoids like CBDa
