I’ve only just found your turnings through the 4 way projects, and I’m loving the work you do. And finding inspiration that will soon be reflected in my turnings. Thank you and keep up the great work sir!
I can’t tell you how validating it makes me feel hearing you say, “whoops”! In my surgical training and until my retirement I never lost that reflexive audible reaction. Years ago, during my training, when a nurse cut a suture extremely short and the reflexive and obviously audible “whoops” was my expression (to the ears of the awake patient) I thought the attending surgeon was going to have a stroke as everything upwards of his collar turned deep purple. He survived, and I also surprisingly survived, as did the preservation of my audible WHOOPS reflex!
Beautifully simple design with just enough accent detail... And a true response to the brief of a wide rim bowl. I might just have to buy a dry blank to try this. Thanks so much for sharing your skills
That is a very nice bowl. I especially like the little detail where the rim meets the bowl. You have done well. I have watched Sam and Mikes entries. Now on to see what Richard has done. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe. 🙂🙂
Excellent design details, enjoyed the process! 4-way videos a great idea, good to see range of techniques and approaches to same class of project. Thanks!
I really like this series the four of you are doing. It is really interesting to see not only the design approaches you each take, but also the different techniques you each use throughout the projects. Had never considered the use of decorations as structural elements; makes total sense.
Very nice bowl! The design is very nice and pleasing to the eye! I'm enjoying the "4 ways" and learning to boot. Thnks for sharing your experience and knowledge. Take care, Dave
Am totally enjoying watching 4 versions being made at one time. I like the rim details, both above and below. Looking forward to next month’s projects.
New turner here- Thank you for the demonstration of securing the rough bowl with chuck in a recess to true up the tenon. I had been using a jam chuck for roughed bowls with marginal success.
Thank you for watching 🤗 there are ten's of ways to remount a bowl, I just really like this one as I get all of the outside exposed.... Thank you for support
Tomislav you all are 4 gifted turners, artists, and educators. This month I really like your design and choice of timber. It's very clean in form and function. Super Job!
This is a great format. Like the old saying goes " there's more than one way to skin a cat". You guys prove it. I'm a newbie and its like getting four lessons at once. Really helps as I plan my next turning. Keep up the great work.
Beautiful bowl and great watching you adjust the design as you go along. I really like the simplicity of the design with the details you added on the top and bottom. Thank you.
I'm so glad I found your channel last month thanks to the Four Ways projects. You clearly emulate Mr. Raffan's style, which I've been adjusting some of my techniques towards. I feel like watching him and you, feels more casual and artistic. I cannot support the rim of a bowl while turning because of paralyzed hands, but the scraper techniques you use have been very helpful to me. Watching you two work, and teach by what you say, has made me more confident and relaxed in my turning. I will be in hospital for awhile later this week. Your older videos are the first thing I'll spend time watching. Looking forward to your future videos.
Thank you for watching and kind words ☺️ Richard is my mentor and he is inspiration.... So sorry to hear about hospital and everything, wish you quick recovery and back at the lathe time to try out new tehniques😀 thank you for taking the time to watch 4 WAYS ☺️ wish all the best
I noticed the similarity to Richard Raffan's techniques as well. Both Raffan and Tomasic are wonderful to watch, and great teachers. Jay, I hope your recovery goes smoothly and that you're turning again soon!
@Asher Langton TYVM Planning on getting into my wheelchair today and hopefully home on Tuesday. Long weekend means skeleton crew so I'll be patient, watch videos and sketch designs until I have a gouge in my hands again.
Very beautiful. I absolutely agree with the bead on the top separating the rim and the bowl. It looked like it should be there instantly when you created it. Great idea showing the four of you and your different takes on a theme!
To all of you; Many of us are enthusiastic amateurs who turn as a hobby not for an income. We also have limited resources, eg no vacuum chuck, as professionals you have access to a wide range of gouges and chucks. Would you consider using, say 4 or 6 tools on a future project?
I do this for a living but dont have a tone of chucks or tools, but something that might interest you will be soon , a begginers series where I'll do turning as well in depth explain all stuff for begginers that might strugle.... Hope that series will help.... Thank you for feedback and suggestion 😀
Great turning, I loved the transitions on both sides. I haven’t put these on my bowls yet due to the extra difficulty. I have used rolled beads on top though. I liked bowl before top transition and thought that you would spoil it by putting one on. However turned out really well. Thanks for these 4 ways turnings. Did you complete transitions with the detail gouge, what sharpenedangle do you have on detail gouge.
@@laurentperio6371 aaaw , that is something that I dont like on this lathe.... Takes forever to stop and you can't stop it with hand on handwheel.... I haven't do anything to deal with that .... Yours need more time to stop?

Lovely bowl. I was internally screaming don't detail the rim as it was so beautifully simple, but the half bead doesn't look tooo bad either.
Thank you Richard, means a lot, I too still have debate should I have put a bead or not😅... Thank you
Very nice Tomislav.

Did you complete transitions with the detail gouge, what sharpenedangle do you have on detail gouge.
Thank you very much for support what we do 🤗 it is detail gouge, I never measure angles but its very pointy angle, like 30 degrees....
Congratulations on a beautifully finished piece. What is the thickness of the bowl and rim?
Thank you sir.... Its around 3-4mm ....🤗
Nice work and great video! How many times do you put on linseed oil when using the bowl for salad? Nicolas
Thank you very much 🤗 , ussually two coats ....
I think the little rim decoration might be fragile. But nice job
Thank you for watching 😀 its quite strong, it doesn't have any flex to it so just right.... A little thinner and it would be fragile.... Great eye👍
A beautiful bowl is it ash or oak ? I missed what your finish oil is
It follows the KISS design principle : Keep It Simple Silly , well done
Thank you Gary, its accually Cherry and finish is linseed oil from oli natura..... Thank you for watching 😀
