Roberto Blake totally changed my mindset and confirmed and extended my values. Taught me the importance of gratitude, empathy, kindness, patience, and self-awareness. You were the one to introduce me to Gary Vaynerchuk, Roberto, and for that I'm forever grateful

Perspective... 110% Perspective. He allowed me to understand I need to embrace myself and become self-aware. Now i'm taking my talents and going all in and not give a F*** about others in the process to build something for myself.

He influenced me just to try something different, I teach/coach I love sports so I started a podcast about local sports and sports figures from my past. I'm only in episode 4, but I have the passion to get better at it every day and every time I have free time. I'm working on the art of the interview, how to project and clearly convey my thoughts into words, the audio hardware, and the ins and outs of the software. Even though I have a "day job" I spend most of my time trying to better my podcast. Finished Crush it in February and just ordered Crushing it after watching this video.

YES! I reviewed this book for my mental health channel because it breaks my heart knowing a primary source of depression for SO many people is their job that they hate. I don't think enough people realize the world we live in today and how they no longer have to work at a job destroys their mental health.

Gary Vaynerchuk is the first one I discovered that gave it raw and "to the point" and is the reason why I finally started photography really :) started by buying a gopro and a recorder, started learning more and now I'm filming weddings and other events ... all that started November 2017 and here I am. Gratitude and deep respect for both you and Gary. Roberto, you keep helping me discovering and learning new things and I thank you for that. Peace

I just recently got the audiobook for crush it, and enjoyed listening to it. Ordered the audiobook for crushing it, and it will be interesting to see how others have been influenced by this book. I honestly discovered Gary and you this time last year when I finally decided to move forward aggressively with my personal brand. Kept listening to his rants and yes felt very inspired by them but continued to work on my business part time. Funny that you mentioned it but I was laid off 3 weeks ago and since then hubs and I discovered I honestly probably could have worked on my brand full time if I took the time to sit down and write down what we could sacrifice and if maybe our household was good with only one working parent. Turns out it is very possible, and Gary and yourself said it all along I just didn't listen or think I could make the sacrifices. I couldn't let go of the job because it was comfortable and even when I thought i was putting in the work I really didn't so the universe showed me otherwise. I am planning on getting both books. Heard alot about them but this gal is putting it into high gear and I am learning a lot so the books are for sure on my list. What a difference a year makes. Awesome review Roberto!

Has anyone read-listened to "The War of Art?"
Unf### Yourself was surprisingly a good audio read by a Scottish Author.
The Desire Map Experience was well written but OK if you have been dipped into the "how you want to feel" genre.
How to Be Ultra Spiritual by JP Sears is not a biz book...but he created an awesome persona. While he is a Coach, he describes the overhyped spiritual entrepreneur community in a comedic way which is refreshing for us guru veterans.
The 48 Laws of Power and The 50th Law (with 50 Cent) is on youtube. Although the read is intense for us vulnerable idealist creatures, I find value in many of the concepts.
A person like myself who can be blind to the work of others needs a little push to understand a few things about manipulation...if anything to assist you in going on the offense and not emotionally react.
For instance: I recently had a call that was dealing with major Tea. Rather then let the person get the upper hand and intimidate me, I wrote out my points. Avoided my weakness to be loved by the person...no matter how much it hurt. Put myself in their shoes with their objective, their strengths and weaknesses.
This made me much less vulnerable and could create a win win without the party who has more local social authority to dominate the situation. It still had integrity but gave me a chin up.
I would advise other mushballs like me who can let their sensitivites and need for love across the board to equip with a little more understanding of the world.
To go deeper, if you have always served emotionally abuse parentals since childhood, you may have learned to deal with them and the world with a soft instant surrender. That's deep. It's of value to retrain yourself in balance so YOU don't subconsciously attract the same types of people, or at least have a new way to handle them.
Being self aware is so important, but also studying others. What do they desire? What is their end game? How does it feel to walk in their shoes?
It's not about obsession but a wake up call to not be blindsided by empathy and your love of loyalty.
Hope this makes sense and assists someone.

    • @decaftumbler
      @decaftumbler Před 6 lety

To add, manipulation is not a bad thing...we all do it...from Coke to my dog needing to be distracted to get out of danger.
Like all qualities of a person or situation, being overly sensitive can lead to victimhood and overinvesting in ideas of others simply because you refuse to trust yourself or ponder the offer for awhile.
Invest in yourself but make smart chess board choices. It will save you a ton of money, self doubt...ya know.

yeah, when I see that it is insane to me that they don't value it more. If they ever did public speaking in a room of 300 people they'd change their attitude about this really quickly. I'm only 1,100+ CZcams videos into my journey of building my personal brand and overall legacy... I'm only just writing my first book... I've also done 1000+ Live streams across different platforms... that is a lot of work... most people who complain have barely done 100 of something yet...

Exactly, thanks for sharing all your progress and what it really takes to make an impact, as not many people I find show this truth. I've done 116 videos on CZcams, with 116 subscribers and I am very grateful for every one of those people. But looking at the work people like yourself, Gary Vee, and many others have done I know I've got a lot of work to do consistently before I can moan about anything. Thanks again, keep up the awesome work.

So Roberto I wanted to get your thoughts on where I am if I could share it to you please.
I found my “calling” per say in fitness and nutrition. I love the way that it’s all that I do now. Everyday I grow more and more into it. Like yesterday, I just got certified as a personal trainer. And the important thing is that I’m happy. I would say I’m 90% happy in my day to day life, and a lot of it is due to things that Gary says like “everything is my fault”, and being grateful and all that. I however want more. I want to be a major player in this game of life.
I realize that social media is a great opportunity, that would be a shame if I let it pass up. But with the exception of Snapchat, I never really enjoyed posting to social media. Do you think I should keep reading/listening to books like these to change my subconscious? Like what do I do if I love my niche and I work hard in it, but I just don’t enjoy the social media part about it? But I want to do it, because I know it’s important to my brand, business and just informing people. I feel like people could get a lot of value out of what I do. But I just haven’t found my rhythm yet in social media.
Is it just a matter of just doing it? Does all this just sound like an excuse ? Lol. Sorry for the long paragraph but this has been on my mind for the past few weeks.
Again I would love your thoughts and thanks for this video ! It was very helpful.

Dude, PLEASE go back to the other hat. I know people don’t like to be pigeonholed but I can’t see you without that hat at this point. I had to listen to this to appreciate it because I kept saying to myself, “where’s the damn hat?”
