Been watching you for years since project reality days. Great progress Bluedrake. Please keep going and don’t stop making your vision happen. Whether you know it or not you’re building the dream game/platform for shooter fans that we all dreamed of! The current gaming industry will never understand but ppl like you will change it for the better and play a significant role in shifting the future of gaming for the better. Appreciate all the supporters and developers working on making this happen! 💯
This is unbelievable and amazing. You have knocked this one out of the park!! Thank you for making this game and thank you to all who have helped with this monumental endeavor.
Looking good! I'd suggest having the PNVS slaved to the pilots helmet instead of copilot and have the TADS slaved to copilot because that is how it normally works in RL. I'm a currently a Apache maintainer so its nice to see it modeled in games.
The fact that you said "offline singleplayer support" makes me so happy. I'm so sick of online-only multiplayer games. Sometimes I only want to chill and fight bots offline or with one or two friends. Keep improving the AI and offline gameplay. Nice work, Bluedrake! 👌🏻
Love the project ❤ I am not a copter nerd but I would like to give some suggestions: - Dust particles when blade start spinning - Ik suspension for the wheels - slightly more dirty windows
I think we will maybe soon need big arma likes islands and some anti aircrafts materials if you release a lot of aerial or even sea vehicules but for now keep going you just have created the game I have dreamed for❤
Pilotable aircraft seems necessary eventually. One of the big things I hate with Squad is how they failed to do that even though it was on their Kickstarter roadmap. For a PR "spiritual successor" it lacks way too many PR features. Seems like youre the one actually making a PR spiritual successor. Squad turned into more of a tacticool BF clone which is really a shame.
If you mean planes, that's not something that would really work. If they don't have a massive map, they end up turning into a shitty bf2042 clone of planes. it's unrealistic to not have them, but if the map isn't 20 miles wide it doesnt work well
@@cookaboi9039 It worked really well in PR? Also works fine in Arma without 20 mile wide maps lol. Idk why people base their opinion of this on uneducated speculation instead of the actual history of this genre. The most viable role would be close air support, as in it operates in a small area, thats kind of the point of it.
@@cookaboi9039 I don't know why people keep saying this. PR had jets and it was fine. I mean... we can also absolutely make 20k+ maps eventually. We've already been talking about procedural map generation tools that could potentially open up support for that. Unreal has no theoretical limits.
@@cookaboi9039 you can also implement jets and helis on a small map if you make a distant aviation spawn. I saw something like that in Rising Storm Vietnam. There was a distatnt spawn for helis, and you actually have to fly through unplayable zone to reach ground battle. Something like war thunder stuff
Even though the core efficient gameplay physics is important, the lateral physical things and effects surrounding the experience is more important for the player immersive gameplay experience. The way the air has thickness and resistance, how every surface is a little but dusty and scratched. How the movement of everything is as realistic as possible, without losing the fun snappy input - output sensation. The details of the way things sound when in every style of confined space. Well done so far. But there are little things to tickle the excitement yet to be done.
This is absolutely insane! I love how this game is looking, not just some triple-A game that's just there for the profit, this actually feels well taken care of and worked on seriously. Love the progress🔥
I was in the discord call when Yoshi was showing the hellfire missiles working over 4km . Fucking insane. Can't wait for people to play with this on my mod. Going to be awesome. Nice work to bluedrake and the team 👏
This is absolutely amazing. I LOVE this game and I am bring my friends into this game. Hoping that one day I'll bring enough people to make a whole team. This game is slowly becoming my dream game.
Hear me out! Imagine if down the road, when you get the AI to be able to pilot, and drive vehicles, upon command, then maybe you can have them conduct an airstrike using the call in method. This way they’re actual aircraft that can be destroyed. It would be cool to have AI pilots come in whether they were already in the sky or having to takeoff from an aircraft carrier or airfield.
Important observations of these features: The Apache gun should be available for the pilot to fire forward if there is no copilot. For vehicle interiors, it will be important to visually tell which way if forward, a colored marker above or below the forward viewport will accomplish this. Automated airstrikes are an excellent edition, even with multiplayer jets. It gives uncoordinated public lobbies a way to have precision strikes, and allowing player jets to shoot down NPC airstrikes allows these features to interact.
10:45 Bro i just want to point out 1 thing and that is apache helicopters should not get auto refilled in the air. It should be at the base for reloading of its missiles. Also it should have a fuel system so that it could not be flying forever
Making good games doesn't require a very talented programmer, it doesn't require a very talented designer, it doesn't require a very talented developer. But instead, it only takes a will of a single Man.
Love your game bro. You guys have a small team and the game is free so anyone complaining is a literal dumbshit. I really enjoy the game man keep up the good work. I’m gonna look into a way to support you guys more. Big thanks as a milsim guy.
This is DEFINITELY getting me exited, I can’t wait for the day this game gets out of early access because it will be the best tactical shooter on the darn planet. Better than Arma, squad, and he’ll let loose combined.
Something I think would be really fun, if you decide to bring in air support, is to combine the soflam call in mod with the players in the aerial vehicles to give them an icon on the hud where the players on the ground want an air strike so to encourage team work between foot soldiers and air support roles.
Honestly if these attack helicopters control like the ones in Battlefield 4, this will be perfect. I like how easy it is to fly, but takes some time to master. Can't wait for the little bird or scout helicopter.
been having way more fun with this game than on Dayz, and for free! And I can actually shoot a lot! The game runs amazing smooth on ultra settings with an 1080ti. This is almost too good to be true, thank you for all your work!
man if you implement a similar thing with jets it will be awesome, I'm talking about something similar to the famous iconic jet mission in Battlefield 3
Is anyone working on a helicopter landing/takeoff brownout effect? I can see that shell impact to the ground already has a dust effect, so i'd imagine creating a brownout effect wouldn't be too far off.
Awesome stuff, man! Can't wait to see how tracked vehicles develop. Not biased or anything haha, but I'm interested to see how you guys end up doing tanks :D
i follow this project closely for a while now long befor the steam release and im relly looking forward to the future of the game u and your team have come so far already
I've been saying for years that Battlefield/DICE/EA wouldn't have been in their crappy situation had they just kept the same exact formula from 1942, Vietnam, and BF2 (I'd even say BF2:MC). BFBC was fun from a singleplayer perspective, but the multiplayer from then on felt like steps backward. Operation: HD is like the spiritual successor of BF2 I had always wanted and can't wait to see the final product.
Learnt Project Reality from you , since 2014 im knee deep in this genre and i passed my experiences to newbies , trained a lot of people in squad , in arma , in arma etc . Im glad you into this operation . When i played OHD first time i felt that feeling i had that in 2014 , the jokes , the fun we had , the mockery . I wish you a great success man . (PS: Im glad you folks modeled the Aimpoint 3000's )
Congrats! My dream game is a big map combined arms with hardcore damage, objectives in the map like chilvary 2 (not capture points) and NOT a full squad of snipers that ruin our fun.
I was already impressed with the more barebones build, but this is looking really sick. It's obvious that community driven game development is the way of the future with all these studios pulling out.
that is sick! 😁 bluedrake bro please fix the upside down vehicles , because sometimes the vehicles would be spawned upside down and theres no way to flip them upwards to use against the enemy teams. Also please allow for any other users besides squad leader to be able to drive vehicles. But other than that this game is AWESOME and ADDICTING 😁
Very awesome!! I love the AH-64D. I suppose there is no licensing cost for the AH-64D license since the project is free. I always wondered what process devs go through to license the AH-64D, F-18, F-15E, etc
I've been getting back into game dev using the latest release of UE, so when I'm back to speed, I'll contact ya and see if you still need some devs. No payment wanted. Just want to be part of the project
Wonderful progress, its amazing what youse guys have accomplished. Nothing short of a miracle. What are your thoughts on having enter/exit animations at some point? Or is the plan to stick with old school style BF2 instant enter/exits?
The battlepas people are nuts, but I think they're only 99.9% wrong. I think a lotta people would looove to have level progression. Make it server by server if you need to, it'll still be really cool.
Hope to see vehicles implemented with smooth boarding and leaving. Haven't had hairy situations close to realistic where you could be shot and killed before completing boarding a vehicle. Closes was Halo from what I remember. Didn't play Battlefield so I don't know if they have the snap boarding or smooth boarding.
In regards to the apache. It is a great weapons system but the 30mm is not meant to be accurate. It is an AOE weapon system. Meant to splash everything around
Great job with the heli, just a bit of knowledge hope it helps the top part of the targeting pod actually is slaved to the pilots head movement most of the time while the bottom part is for the copilot gunner.
Thats the future, actual gamers who love the game making the game, just like it was in the start. Even I not being someone into aircraft stuff, you got me out of the chair when you said "dunno if this airstrikes mod would conflict with what we will do", because that made me think something like: Imagine if there was stuff like killstreaks/scorestreaks and the pilot is a real player in game who haves to see where his commander sent the location to attack? That would be new welcomed stuff for sure.
Kind of reminds me of the radioman class in Easy Red 2 where your squad lead gives you commands to strike or smoke a set location and you have to pinpoint that location through a numbers minigame. Along with sending in armored support and reinforcements. Wish more games would try something similar or to that level but with as you said a real player doing thise things.
I'm very interested in helicpoters in games and really want them to feel good. As a great example of well developed heli physics are Rising storm 2, where at higher speeds your rotor actually works like a wing, and if you put too much stress on rotor it looses rpm and lift power. A bit worse implementation would be Squad, where the physics try to look like physics but it feels like glued train tracks(hard to explain it better felt) A good but unrealistic implementation is BF3-4 where it's very arcady but it's understandable and predictable (i.e. bf3 you know if you roll too far you'll loose control and where you roll that way you will as it's simple physics) So I would love it to be closer to RS2 but I'm fine with simple physics. But I wonder where are O:HD devs heading? as I see from this footage it's closer to BF4, but hard to say unless you try
Someone needs to make a realistic ragdoll/gore mod, Yes i know i know i probably sound like a insane person but.. listen man.. i really like to be immersed and i mean IMMERSED
Hope for more support for WWII content in the future. Possibly in the form of a separate mod. My favorite mod for bf2 has always been forgotten hope 2 (which by the way gets updates until now in 2024 and has one active server daily). The amount of content and the work invested in it is difficult to estimate. It is very unpleasant for me to understand that the talented community of mod creators is literally suffocated by the suspension of mod support in the next parts of the battlefield series for the sake of paid DLCs and skins
I realize I'm the niche of the niche, but if you could set up HOTAS integration alongside with the aircraft that would be f'n amazing. I've been looking for a mil-sim-ish game like this that I can fly with my HOTAS while my friends do fps stuff.
I love this project.. but it's still need a lot of work. For me it's mainly about the gun play.. must of the guns in the game feel like they don't have weight to them.. the sound are a little bit off too.. but i am excited about this game and hope to see it doing well
If you can get them to handle like the AH-1Z viper from BF3 in terms of flying that'd be super amazing, most fun I'd ever had flying any aircraft in video games, it was one nimble bitch
Seeing the great improvements and work going into the game is awesome. I know this would probably be a pain to do but I would love to see implementation for joysticks and throttle modules such as a Thrustmaster or others. Also since it's been a second since I've played I don't remember if there is leaning implemented yet. If there is then please refresh my memory.
This game is about 65% away from a complete game. There's much to do and few creators that are doing it. Anyone can learn to code. We can build this game together.
SKILL ISSUE I KNOW. Recently played the game, picked 1 of 2 fuller servers that my ping wasn't terrible, shot 5 sniper rounds at somebody, missed horribly, saw a guy dressed differently than me, chased him into a building, put 4 rounds in his back, proceeded to be told by someone else 'that guy's on our team', laid on the ground to figure out the keybind for voice chat and apologize, was banned from the server. Uninstalled. Great community, great game.
Don't worry Bluedrake will delete this comment like he deleted other comments talking negative and not even trashing the game, this project will never go anywhere
That is really cool!!, as a guy who likes to fly choppers on Batlefield, I really cant wait to see this apache finished, also Battlefield is more like an arcade shooter, will the mods for operation harshdoorstop be able to emulate that ? I mean istead of the standard milsim experience.
I have been looking at operation harsh doorstop with a little bit or praise. All I am thinking when I see it another shooter squad type of game but this looks like it's already a game changer. Seeing where this game is going def makes me want to support it. Question, is there hoyas and track ir
Imo it would be cool if the air strikes were performed by your pilots. Lets say you highlight an area and, depending on the current airborne air raft, choose what aircraft you want to attack it.

Yep, I prefer playing offline match OHD than online match
Thank god lol. I still miss the old BF games with offline bots that you could also actually mod.
Love the project ❤
I am not a copter nerd but I would like to give some suggestions:
- Dust particles when blade start spinning
- Ik suspension for the wheels

I agree for the dust particle! That would be super cool and realist/immersive
Yeahh. Agreed.. Even Battlefield 2 have a dust when the helicopter start moving its blade

This is beautiful 😢
This is a banger!
Great community, great game.
bullets shoot from barrel though, you need to adjust the aiming for that, also just tell them in discord they'll do something about the ban
Don't worry Bluedrake will delete this comment like he deleted other comments talking negative and not even trashing the game, this project will never go anywhere
@@Ceraxy why exactly wouldnt it go anywhere ?
It's been two days and.. nope still here so um. Yeah take that as you will.
Skill issue
Bluedrake and the community doing better than SQUAD in less time ?
Thank you all for the support and the future of the platform !
This has come so far since it released
little bird and transport helicopters plz
This was the game I’ve been waiting for years
That is really cool!!, as a guy who likes to fly choppers on Batlefield, I really cant wait to see this apache finished, also Battlefield is more like an arcade shooter, will the mods for operation harshdoorstop be able to emulate that ? I mean istead of the standard milsim experience.
I have been looking at operation harsh doorstop with a little bit or praise. All I am thinking when I see it another shooter squad type of game but this looks like it's already a game changer. Seeing where this game is going def makes me want to support it. Question, is there hoyas and track ir
Imo it would be cool if the air strikes were performed by your pilots. Lets say you highlight an area and, depending on the current airborne air raft, choose what aircraft you want to attack it.
in full graphics floor should be alot more dusty, keep it in mind
